We both ordered prime rib. The entrees arrived soon after the appetizer (crab dip) and we didn't really have time to enjoy it.

We are regulars at Grille Marx and find the food, service and atmosphere to be consistently of high quality. We are always pleased with our experience, and highly recommend it as a solid place to dine. You can't go wrong.

Four of us got together for special dinner- we were seated promptly and out service was great.
Grilled Artichoke appetizer was very good. Ordered Kona steak medium- came rare- asked for it to be cooked more- still rare. Asparagus was thick and tough. We don't mind paying $30 for a great steak but this one was just ok. Atmosphere nice - definitely family oriented.

Gin & Tonic comes without lime. Bread for crab dip not warm, asked for chips instead, they bring out stale Tostitos. Less than 5 minutes after getting drinks and appetizer, prime rib dinner appears. No horse radish with prime rib. I know prime rib just needs to be sliced, but how about letting us enjoy our appetizer and drinks. Probably would have ordered 2 more drinks if we were allowed the time. In and out of there in 30 minutes (took appetizer to go) on a Saturday night. For the price I expected much better, really much, much better.

Had a great dinner here a few months ago. My husband loves brunch buffets so I thought we would try it with friends. it was empty and pretty quiet except for screaming kids right next to us. Not sure why restaurants put families with kids right next to people dining without kids when the place is empty. Anyway, I had an omelet and it was just ok. wished they cooked with butter instead of oil. My husband said the selection in the buffet was ok,not great. He did not return for seconds so the waiter said the price would be less than the full buffet price. But it wasn't. We'll be back but not for brunch.

We've been there before and had better experiences. This was for Easter brunch and when we arrived, were told they only had the buffet and about five brunch entrees...so, okay. We got brunch menus which showed the buffet price as $20 but were verbally informed that today it was $10 more...okay...they did have a decent prime rib so maybe that was the extra cost, but otherwise it was a pretty dull buffet. So, it was "meh" and basically just more expensive than the regular buffet because it was Easter.

I was very disappointed in their Easter Buffet! We usually enjoy this restaurant. This was our first buffet there, never again!! We brought people from out of town to enjoy the $29.00 Buffett $15.00 for children. The pancakes were hard, Sausage patties rival the ones at McDonalds, not many lunch items, salmon had been sitting out so long it was changing colors on the edges. Very disappointed and embarrassed to bring out of towners here especially for the price point and lack of selection. Service was almost non existent.

Been there several times...always good food and service. Wedge salad, Italian sausage with cheese ravioli (special ordered with white mushroom sauce), cheeseburger, and hot fudge Sunday (a bit more hot fudge wouldn't hurt) were all good. Guinness is on tap!
Will be back!

We had a great experience, drinks were tasty and the food is amazing. However, there is a giant ceiling fan that was rotating and we were uncomfortably cold. We asked the waiter if it could be turned off, and he said that someone earlier had asked and he was told by the owner that it could be adjusted since it was connected somehow with the lights. It felt like we were sitting next to an open door to the cold air outside. The waiter was super nice, overall great experience.

This was our second time dining at GrillMarX and I really want to love this restaurant but . . .
First the good things, we made a reservation on Valentines Day and were sat right away. We had a friendly waiter who checked in at the right times and didn't "hover". The food was served at the correct time without feeling rushed. The food was good, but not great. The grilled artichoke (which we had had before and loved) was cold on the inside. To me it seemed like it had been frozen and they put it on the grill but didn't give it enough time to warm through. My prime rib needed a touch on salt or at least the au jus, but the outside rub was super salty, so if you took a well done bit with the medium rare middle it worked out ok, but I tend to only eat the medium rare part. The baked potato on the other hand was over salty. I also think it's strange to get charged "extra" for a loaded bake potato. I think it should come with everything versus getting charged for toppings. The creamed spinach I ordered as a side appeared to be the spinach and artichoke dip that is served as an appetizer that is re-purposed for a side dish . . . it wasn't great by itself. We split a chocolate cake for dessert and again it was good, but not great. I'm hoping that it was just a fluke and maybe a new cook in the back. We'll try this restaurant again, but for the price of our dinner which I would consider expensive (over $150 with tip and includes a moderately priced bottle of wine) you want/expect the food to be great.

Food was excellent. Service was ok. The hostess was less than welcoming. For a special night I was expecting more than a small table in the corner. When I requested a different table I was told they were reserved. Yet they sat open for our whole dinner. I made a reservation so I was expecting to be treated better than a walk in. That being said the food is great so maybe we will give them another try.

We arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation. Hanna, the hostess greeted us promptly and treated us like great friends. She checked our and found that I had had flowers sent for the table. She called one of the bussers over to the side and explained. He discretely went to the back, retrieved the flowers and placed them on the table. Hanna then took us to our table. It was perfect. it was a quiet booth, with the flowers prominently displayed, yet out of the way.

Shortly after we were seated, our server Gavin made his appearance. Again, you would swear were old friends. He took his time explaining the specials and answered all of our questions. As the evening wore on, Gavin made sure that all of his tables received the same kind of attention. (He would appear out of nowhere with drink refills)

The food was excellent and the service outstanding. GrillMarX Clarksburg is our go-to place for special occasions.

Food was good, however I would much very prefer receiving salad before entree. Both were served at the exact same time which means that if you want to start with your salad, your entree will get cold.

We have been to this location before as well as Olney and always enjoyed it. Our server was either disengaged or highly overwhelmed. When she spoke to us we could barely hear her and every request was forgotten or wrong. But for the most part we can overlook it as it's not like she was rude.

The food is where is really hurt. The kona ribeye was served lukewarm for both us. The side was forgotten on my husband's plate and my side was not how I ordered it. Based on our server we kept it moving. We ended up getting dessert and thats really what was the icing on the cake if you will. My husband got the apple crisp which was watery and barely warm. I got the warm chocolate cake and I've had better Little Debbie's. My theory based on how it's served most desserts and or plates are frozen right down to the whipped cream which has that layer like it was pre spooned.... The cake was dry. It definitely didn't seem like the desserts were prepared made by them. My opinion is the price didn't equal what we received.

Grillmarx is a great new find for me and my friends in Clarksburg. For years, if I wanted to get good service, a friendly atmosphere, etc. I needed to go south on 270 from where I live, but a friend told me to try Grillmarx, and she was right. I was back three times within the month. I could do 3 separate reviews on Open Table, but they would all be saying the same thing - excellent service in a casual but not cheap atmosphere. It feels like a steakhouse, but not as stuffy, but the quality of the food feels like it was made especially for you. Having had everything from appetizers to entrees and dessert there to try different things - I can assure you that whatever you need, a burger, steak, bites, or a tasty cocktail and sweet dessert, you will not go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is also to be commended, all three gentlemen who have waited on my family and I have been perfect - wow , so nice to have a place close to me in Clarksburg that I can count on for consistently great food, a great atmosphere and top notch service! Get there now!!!!

Consistently good food comes out of this kitchen. Bourbon steak tips, outstanding. Meatloaf is a winner. Ribs are always a hit, cooked just right. Steaks were superbly, cooked perfectly, quality rivaling Ruths Chris and Morton's. Go for it!

Made reservations and were seated promptly with no wait. Wait staff was friendly, but seemed overwhelmed at points. Timing of salads to entre was on top of each other. Had to move our salads for the entre...not good. Felt rushed from that point forward. Drink refills were slow. Seated in back, away from bar, but ambient noise was still very high. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation in a low voice. Food was good but could have been better. The noodles in the Bourbon cream steak tips did not absorb the sauce, so the dish was a bit soupy vice creamy as expected.

We had reservations through Open Table for 6 PM for a party of 2 and with remarks that stated we wanted a Booth not at the Bar. We have been to GrillMarX several times. When we got there, about 8 minutes prior to our reservation time, we were told by the hostess that they had our reservations but they had just given our Booth away and they were sorry about that but we could wait for the next available booth. The Manager came over and also said they blew it but we could have a drink at the bar. We don't drink. Then she said we would be seated in about 10 minutes and once we were seated she would come to our table and take care of us. We were seated 30 minutes later, she walked by numerous times and never once stopped to talk to us. The only saving grace was that we got our favorite waiter, Morgan. Even though our experience was awful we still tipped Morgan because he is Morgan. Jackie, the manager for the evening, should have at least stopped by and explained why they gave our reservation for the booth away to someone else. This looks bad on both the establishment and Open Table. We used Open Table for a reservation on Christmas Night for Ruth Chris Steak House in Las Vegas and it was wonderful. We walked in and were seated right away even though the place was packed. They honored our reservation through Open Table.
