I was quite disappointed. I expected a better meal after reading the review. The mixed grilled had little flavor and the broccoli were nearly raw and very hard.

What a great restaurant! Our 8:15 PM reservation was well worth the wait. The calamari appetizer was outstanding. The four of us that dined together were all very impressed with Grillfish.

This is one of my favorite go-to seafood restaurants. The fish is always fresh, the veggie sides are terrific, and the service is always timely and attentive without being fussy.

Calamari was perfect. Mixed grill was delicious as was our other two fish dishes. Our table near the front window was on slant making it hard to sit comfortably. Suggest a table in back. Service was quick and friendly.

In town from Chicago and wanted a place where the service, ambiance, and food would be great. Grillfish checked all of those boxes for me.

A friend took me here for a birthday. The scallops were fabulous, perfectly cooked. The chocolate cake was decadent. They have fancy drinks, get the dry ice berry one for show.

Best seafood carefully cooked. I had a pan seared rainbow trout and my husband had the sea bass, a catch of the day. Both delicious.

Grill fish delivered on the wide variety of fish options. The portions were a good size but a lot of them are laden with excess oils and butter. Suggest to ask for no butter, if possible. Fish tasted fresh but would have liked jumbo shrimp on the mixed grill.

The restaurant has a great space and very friendly service. Sadly, the salmon was overcooked and dry and the Pino Noir from the Burgundy region had gone off. Underwhelming.

We stayed at the Marriott and wanted to go someplace we could walk to. This restaurant was right around the corner. The food was fresh and delicious. The drinks were good. Manager Tony Smith was very friendly, as well as our waiter. We would go back to this restaurant

Went to Grillfish while visiting D.C. for the weekend. Had a delicious dinner. Started with the fish chowder and a pear, walnut salad, great flavor for both especially with the warm bread and herb butter. Thumbs up for the monk fish and Pecan crusted stripped sea bass. Saved room for dessert, a great carrot cake completed a wonderful meal. Service by Latoya was great and Tony Smith the manager that night was all about great customer service.

Incredible dining experience. Food, staff, and ambiance was amazing. The Ginger Calamari is to die for. Well thought out wine list (Pinot Nior - Don & Sons: "spot on"). Loved the open kitchen concept to dining room and the decor. My new #1 seafood establishment. Bravo Grillfish !!!

Great food and service. Cool ambiance. Shrimp dishes were fresh and delicious, buffalo mac & cheese and fried rizotto balls were yummy and mango was a wonderful addition to the key lime pie.

Was excited to have great seafood based on reviews. Was fair at best. Lobster wasn’t flavorful and didn’t have that natural sweetness ($33 and no sides). Seafood platter was bland for the most part. ...best part was shrimp and scallop and broccolini. Wish they would have charred it a bit more to at least give it a smokier flavor rather than cooking it to medium. Loved the apple crisp dessert. Sorbet was tart, blood orange. Our server was great, however. Don’t remember his name, sorry. Oh yeah, Pear apple salad was good.

Lobster at market price wash well done, but shell on was a hassle to fully enjoy the meal. If they offered for a few dollars more to remove the shell. I would have paid it.

Mahi sandwich was under cooked and my French fries were soggy from the grease. Turn the heat up on the fryer and cook the fries...why do restaurants have such a problem with making good fries. I also had a Diet Coke, which was flat. Bartender had to go to another fountain for a new one. Simple lunch, not so good. Bartender was a nice guy.

My wife had the halibut and I had rockfish. They were both cooked perfectly however both were very bland. My wife mentioned it to the waiter who apologized but never asked her if she would like something else. All he offered was it was seated in olive oil. Very disappointing.

While attending a conference in Georgetown, a colleague and I were directed to try Grillfish for dinner on a Monday evening. They recommended that we have a reservation, because it would be busy. They were correct! My colleague ordered the salmon and I had the mixed grill. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend Grillfish!

The service was very slow. We were seated 35 minutes before our order was taken and we were even served bread. The drink order was also slow. The food was not served hot at all. We sent back a clam dish to be reheated. Everyone else just ate luke warm dishes. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's missable!!

My partner and I celebrated our second anniversary. We shared a delicious beet salad which was outstanding. I had the crab cakes. They were absolutely delicious with very little filler. My partner's fish was also well prepared. The service was great. We will definitely return.

Tony the manager took an active role in ensuring an outstanding experience on our honeymoon. And, no, we had not known him prior. One of our best D.C. Experiences.

I thought this restaurant was very good all around. I had the kale salad and grilled salmon and it was delicious. My husband had the char but wasn't crazy about it. He had a great looking beet salad very large and maybe too much dressing for his taste. I guess it just depends on what you order.

The food was excellent
We had the Ginger Calamari - the oysters for an app. Then the scallops with spinach - and, seafood fra diavlo. Both excellent. Dessert wAs the carrot cake lace with pineapple. Excellent well. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Restaurant is lovely and has a cozy feel inside despite the bland exterior. Host was wonderful giving the two of us a table for 4 (so we could sit together and look out over restaurant) despite the Saturday night crowd. We ordered the mixed grill for two and I was very disappointed. Very bland and nothing really special, although the sauces served with it were tasty. The best part of the evening was dessert which was a carrot and pineapple cake made on the premises. Delicioius!! Would go back for dessert!
