This restaurant was chosen to celebrate my husband's birthday. He LOVES seafood! From the apps to the desert and even the drinks!! I haven't had a satisfying, wonderful, and tasty meal from start to finish in a LONG time!! The waiter was efficient, the ambiance was excellent and I really enjoyed this restaurant. We will back often!!

Chris was my waiter, and I was treated like a king. I dined alone. Had a giggle about the Mango in the Key Lime Pie (don't tell that to a Conch!!!!!!). Very enjoyable. I'll come again when I am in DC.

Our server was attentive and refilled water/soda without asking. The bread served was yummy. Started out with a cup of crab chowder, very good. A meal in itself. My son had the mix grill -seafood. He enjoyed it, and especially liked the candied brussel sprouts. I had the shrimp scampi, which was tasty, but shrimp were over cooked and dish was not hot. Also way too much sauce. Overall, for the amount of food, quality and price, I would certainly recommend.

Delicious food and good service. The venue is also very nice. Our group of 4 had crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and steak and everything was very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed everything except at our table, the floor wasn’t level so the chairs were on a small incline which made dining for the 2 people on that side of the table a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, they would get 5 stars.

I've eaten at the Grillfish almost every time I've visited DC over the last tens years. The ginger calamari is not to be missed.

I didn't know what to expect at Grillfish, but was familiar with some of the other restaurants run by the same group so I had reasonable expectations. I requested a nice table for my wife's birthday, however we were seated close to a drafty window which wasn't ideal. Our server was mediocre and didn't check back often enough to see if we needed anything or to check back and see if our food was ok. The support staff was good including the host who was more helpful than the server. My wife ordered the lobster and it didn't come with clarified butter. By the time we got someone to bring butter she was halfway finished with her meal. I had the mixed grill which was ok, but not great. The seafood chowder was tasty with large chunks of fish. I'm glad we tried this restaurant, but won't be coming back.

Oh my, so cozy and lovely. Fabulous calamari, okay crab cake. My partner had ciopino that was more solid seafood than broth. Excellent, with crusty bread and herby butter.

The quality food is bad, not coked well.

The fish is not fresh, salmon is cooked half raw, fried calamari is not scrispy but soaked in a pool of oil.

We were celebrating a 75th birthday with family; party of 6 and it was easy to talk and the food was great! Highly recommended; the staff was attentive but not intrusive and brought a lovely dessert for the birthday boy. I couldn't have chosen a better place for our purpose and our taste.

I've been to Grillfish at least a half dozen times, and the food has usually been very good. I almost always get the seafood diavlo which I like. However, over time, there has been less and less sauce (which I miss); this time the seafood itself (calamari, clams, muscles) was tough and gritty (though the shrimp were fine). The staff, however, were very attentive, and everything we asked for, they brought graciously. The space is nice, the noise level allowed a conversation (rare these days!) and pricing is reasonable. I will go back, but will avoid this particular dish.

The food was outstanding and the service excellent. The waiter was very good about checking on food alergies and helping find alternatives for cooking dishes on the menu.

However, diners should never be seated by the bar! I was almost run over by people at the bar waiting to be seated. And the noise was incredibly loud.

Food was okay, for a fish restaurant I expected better. The salmon was dry, sent it back. It tasted and looked like it was not cooked to order, pre-cooked. Crab cakes had more filler than I was told. Sever said about 95% crab, It was actually closer to 80%.

Drinks and service were good, nice ambiance but don’t think I would come back. Seafood should be served fresh.

Ginger calamari was fantastic as well as the bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers. Pecan crusted rockfish with risotto was very good as was the mixed seafood grill. Two in our party ordered the scallops for dinner and we're very disappointed. The manager was very apologetic and offered us dessert on the house, which we accepted. The carrot cake was delicious. The two in our party who are the scallop main course unfortunately were pretty sick the next day. Obviously they received some bad scallops from their vendor.

Great food once again. My swordfish was amazing. My wife's rockfish was also great. We both had the 3 course special. My arincini was perfect. The brownie sundae was creamy gooey goodness.

We started with the chowder. It was quite good, better than all of the chowders that we tasted on a recent ten day trip to Cape Cod and Boston. We had the mixed grill of swordfish, salmon, and mahi-mahi and the kale side...all good but not great. The striped bass entree was very ordinary and the buffalo mac and cheese was okay. The ambiance is very nice. We would probably go back hoping to be wowed as , apparently, so many have been judging by the reviews.

Grill fish delivered on the wide variety of fish options. The portions were a good size but a lot of them are laden with excess oils and butter. Suggest to ask for no butter, if possible. Fish tasted fresh but would have liked jumbo shrimp on the mixed grill.
