Opentable took my reservation not knowing that the restaurant was OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! So much for my $100 gift certificate!
The restaurant closed on Saturday, won’t reopen under current management. I guess new management isn’t any better hen the current as neither understands how to build repeat clientele.
The food and service were great, but the music was SO loud for dinnertime (and this is coming from a 20-something). I felt like the volume was disproportionate with the time of night and the amount of people in the restaurant. It was a little hard to hold a conversation at times. I would come back again, but maybe during lunchtime when the music is hopefully at a more normal volume.
Last 3 visits I asked for moist medium rare salmon and got dry as cardboard fish. I used to love their perfectly cooked salmon years ago but I will not order it again. Such a disappointment especially for the price.
Great food and service. Jerry, General Manager, is always welcoming, friendly and helpful. Management persons in many restaurants are invisible. The servers are very pleasant and efficient.
Food was good and service was very good. Music was very loud was hard to have a conversation.
Loved the short rib taco
Our waitress was great! Menu although seemed enticing, was limited and didn't quite meet tastebuds and value expectations.
We attended Saturday night, 7/28 and our server was great. Food and drinks were awesome.
Le saumon excellent! Et filet mignon tendre et très bon.
We had the same server that served us the last time we ate here, she was the best!
Every drink and food item we ordered was delicious. Great vegan sorbet options too!
The menu was fully revamped and was either very bland or over seasoned. The restaurant and bar were empty and took 20 minutes to get cocktails and 45 minutes to get food. The spinach dip tasted like nothing, the crab cake was fishy, the prime time sandwich was good but the aujus had way too much pepper and our friends flank steak was tough and not seasoned. Not sure we’ll be going back again until a major change is made. Their old menu and service used to be on point!
Unfortunately they changed the menu AGAIN! Not enough to choose from!
I visit Grille 401 whenever I'm in Fort Lauderdale. Love the food and the ambiance. We were disappointed that they no longer make a peanut ginger slaw but loved the short rib tacos with hoisin BBQ. Our meal was made great also by our server Morgan. She was friendly and created a memorable evening for us.
I very much like Grille 401. I eat lunch there 2-3 times each week. The service is excellent. On this occasion: The simply grilled salmon and kale salad were excellent. My daughter had the skirt steak and fingerling potatoes. The steak was tough and had little flavor, and the potatoes were bland.
The atmosphere was great. The DJ got a little strange with some of the music as it got later. The service was slow but the waitress was extremely attentive and nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was a bad imitation of overboard boushy boushy. The chicken I order was over cooked and the fries were soggy and gross. The spinach dip was so dry and not creamy and it was hard for people to share as an appetizer. Was not impressed with the food.
It was an enjoyable dinner..
Chelsea was great server. Pleasant and attentive. Easy environment to have business conversations.
Used to be my Go-To restaurant. Unfortunately, they have recently changed ownership and have limited their lunch menu. They no longer have some of their favorites like Parmesan potatoes, barbecue salmon, chicken Milanese. Service is consistently good but the menu is weak.
I have been going to Grille 401 for years! Now it has new management, the quality of food is less than desirable. For example, the sliders that I use to have was made with high quality beef. Currently, you can tell the beef used is not fresh and is of lower quality as regular frozen meat. Lastly, why change something that’s not broken. The complete change to the food menu and drinks was a disappointment.
Good as always:)
Took my wife on a date and the service was excellent from the begin to the end
Service was outstanding and our waitress Lea was engaging, funny and interesting without being too "in your face".
Under new management, so several changes to things - staff, menu, etc. We noticed some areas which needed refurbishment, but were assured that these were a priority. The food was very good, and the service was pleasant and at a sensible speed. We will return.
A favorite of mine for quite a long time. Under new ownership and after redoing the menu, all my favorite dishes are gone. I’m sorry to report that this place has gone from first to worst and has lost a very loyal local customer.
I'm still sick after eating Sunday there, I do not know if that food was bad or poorly prepared
We arrived for our 945 reservation and were seated promptly. A server assistant greeted our table offering water and saying our server would be right over. He comes back with the water about 10 min later assuming our server had arrived. He was surprised when we told him otherwise. He told us about features and took drink orders (not his job but props to him). Finally after over 15 minutes the server arrived immediately asking what we wanted to eat for our entrees. We never were asked about appetizers. We did tell her we wanted appetizers to which we ordered 3. One person also ordered a Stella which was poured table side and placed in front of him with a big chip on the glass everyone noticed immediately. Prime beef sliders were bland and over priced. $15 for 3 cheeseburger sliders with only cheese. The baby zucchini was also bland and overpriced. 7 slices for $9. The Tuna Poke stack was very good. We asked to see the manager who came over after about 10-15 minutes and we expressed our displeasure to her. We did not want anything out of it but she did take care of one of our apps and gave us a free dessert. Entrees were satisfying. My skirt steak was cooked medium well when ordered rare but the flavor was still great. Server never came back to check on us nor did the manager. It turned out that we were now being served by the server assistant who did an amazing job. Hopefully he’ll be a server from now on. The complementary bread pudding was amazing and delivered by the manager. Adding insult to injury she placed a dirty spoon in front of one of us without noticing how obviously dirty it was. This restaurant needs to figure out its identity. They had a dj in the front but claimed to be a “grille” prices said fine dining but service said otherwise.
The Ambiance is great, however my GF's chicken was undercooked.
Unfortunately, a chlorine taste shrimp special that we ate made us stomach aches... Other appetizers & main fish were good, can’t suggest people for food but maybe for drinks & hangout.
Are food was not prepared as ordered and we had to ask 3 different people to get our waitress who appeared 15 minutes after we were served
Grille 401 used to be my go to place for business lunches but they seem to change the menu a lot and they’ve eliminated my favorite dish. Plus they don’t serve any warm bread like most restaurants do. I
would still recommend but not quite as good as before.
Went to Grille 401 for Mother’s Day, it was surprisingly quiet, maybe due to the weather. It took the server a little white to approach us and bring us our first round of drinks. The calamari was phenomenal, the spinach dip was subpar. Mentioned to the server that we didn’t like it and he just apologized. Didn’t offer to remove it from the bill. Overall, it was a decent experience but nothing that made me very excited to return any time soon.
I would recommend Grille 401 to my friends and family. The service and food was excellent and they never disappoint. The menu offers an array of options for everyone no matter their preference.
Went here for Mother’s Day and everything was great. Would highly recommend.
Mother’s Day was quiet and tasteful
We were here for a Mother's Day lunch. My mother has difficulty going up steps and the ramp was pretty far from the front door. We managed to get her up the 3 steps. Also most of the booths have a step up, but we did ask for one on the floor and they did have one which was perfect. The service was great and the food delicious. My mother really enjoyed her food and her drink.
We had not been here for a few months and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the service, and the ambience; they were better than we remembered. Our party had dietary restrictions which were comfortably accommodated. Service was pleasant and timely.
There is a loud DJ downstairs near the bar, but upstairs and near the rear of the restaurant, the music did not interfere with conversations.
This is one to try if you have never been there or have not been there in a while.
