Grille 29 Birmingham
Four of us dined at Grille 29 and had a very enjoyable evening. Service was excellent. Three of us had the delicious Orange Beach salad and the fourth had a steak which was cooked exactly as he wanted.
Great server and most of the food was hot and fresh but some was not. They fixed the issues. I’d come back.
We had a very special occasion, my wife's 50th birthday. The staff was extremely courteous and accompanying. The restaurant wasn't particularly crowded that night due to weather. Two people of our party, including my wife, ordered one of the pricier items on the menu but had to send both of the lobster tail back. They were over-cooked and like chewing a tire.
The staff was right on top of it and brought two more out fairly quickly.
Overall the experience was ok but the value wasn't as good as I was expecting. I'd say maybe a three out of five..
Teri, our server, gave us outstanding service.
Excellent on all levels. Every one of the staff are friendly and make you feel like you are a regular customer.
The manager came over to our table to make sure we were enjoying our dinner.
Our waitress was beyond amazing!!! Sheniqua (sorry about the spelling) could come to Atlanta and work in any of the best restaurants.
Our food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Next trip to Birmingham we will definitely be back for dinner.
Good food and atmosphere.
Our visit started great with the hostess. Our waitress, Chloe, was FABULOUS!!!
This was our third trip to Grille 29. It was very disappointing. The service was great! Food just very mediocre
You have to try the chicken & waffles! Excellent!
Excellent service and food was cooked exactly as we ordered and was delish.
Fabulous service and good!
My family and I have dined at Grille 29 several times and have always enjoyed a terrific meal and excellent, friendly service from the wait staff.
Our waitress Errin was fantastic!!!
I had the New York strip - ordered medium rare and it came done to perfection. The sides of garlic mashed potatoes and brussell sprouts were also excellent. The steak was very tender and even the reheated steak from my “doggie bag” was great the next day. Others in the party had beef tips and the shrimp and scallops kabob and said they were great also. My husband and I split the chopped salad as an appetizer and it was plenty for both of us and very tasty. Service was friendly and efficient.
The restaurant was very busy but Julie was AWESOME! She was patient, kind and attentive.
Thank you Julie

Everyone was wonderful. However, it’s very noisy.
Great atmosphere, good food great company and staff
Kudos to our waitress, I believe her name was Chole. We were a group of 6 and she was very friendly and helpful to each of us. We told the manager how great she was. We really enjoyed ourselves. Grille 29 is my favorite eatery, you can dress up or down but the ambiance is still great. I am a big fan. Keep up the good work.
For the first time in several dining experiences at Grill29, the Orange Beach salad was not as good as previous times. There was not as much flavor, plus kale was added. I’ve never had the kale in this salad before. I hope you all will go back to original recipe, which was consistently delicious. The change was evident to me and disappointing.
I went for brunch. The most tender, succulent steak I’ve ever tasted. Mimosas are always great in taste and value!
We had Thanksgiving at Grille 29. It is consistently delicious. The service is excellent. The managers Chris and Jay are always so welcoming and so kind as well as the entire staff.
Four of us ate dinner at Grille 29 and had a great evening! The food was excellent and so was the service! We also appreciated the moderate noise level.
One of the best filets I have ever had!
Never, ever disappoints!
Dined with a friend before a show at Sanford on a Sunday evening. The food was good but it must have been our server’s first night or he’s just not into his job. He was mediocre at best and rudely asked if I was STILL eating when I had half of my meal left to eat. I don’t know why he felt the need to rush us and take bread away from the table during our meal without asking. He was not very accommodating, to put it mildly. I hope he has either taken another position elsewhere or stepped up his game. Nice place, but service lacking.
Food and service was excellent.
Everything was perfect. Our waiter was great and food was so delicious!
Our service is always impeccable when we visit this location. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and patient with our large party!
Food and service was excellent, some of the upholstery needs to be replaced and the hostess was not appropriately dressed
Our waiter, Mason, did a wonderful job. There were nine of us for lunch and he was very good had taking and delivering our orders. One of our party was not satisfied with the Orange Beach salad and didn't eat it. She had had it before with no problem. She was not charged for her meal and was given a complimentary dessert.
Firecracker shrimp is amazing!! I got the shrimp and scallop skewers, they were delicious! The desserts were great too.
We were all in town for a big football game weekend and were about to get on the road for a long drive home. I chose Grille 29 for a Sunday brunch with friends because the ratings and the photos give the impression that it's going to be a great experience, but it honestly was NOT worth it. I would not recommend going there. Our food took well over an hour to be delivered to our table after we ordered - and we had to request bread for our table. (Because this was brunch - we didn't have the option of ordering appetizers.) Our service was not very attentive. When she did appear, we had to request tea/water refills. I would have expected the manager to say something about the wait or give us some credit towards our bill since it was a ridiculous amount of time for a very simple brunch menu - but we did not have that courtesy extended at all. It was nothing like the gracious town of Birmingham.
We were meeting for brunch ; we both had the French Toast. Delicious , the fruit could have been fresher but overall the food was good. We were too late for the .29 Mimosas but the margaritas were good. I loved the decor and ambience; Will definitely go back
The place wasn’t busy at all. Took for ever for the kitchen to get food out. Not sure I would recommend.
Excellent food. The service was very attentive without being instructive. Overall it is an excellent choice.
Excellent evening and meal. My Fish and Chips were slightly overcooked and they didn't have enough Malt Vinegar for both myself and another at our table; so we shared thus neither having quite enough. That small issue was made up by a terrific waitress whose name escapes me now.
We were quite underwhelmed with our experience. The restaurant is unique in its circular layout and we had high hopes in coming here. We both were a bit chilly so we started with soup. My hubby got a crock of French onion and I got their soup of the day a chicken corn chowder. I hate to say it but Progresso is better. I did however love my Peach Bellini Martini so it was still a savable night. I was torn between the Shrimp and Grits and the Filet 29 which are supposed to both be house specialties. I ultimately went with Shrimp and grits and my hubby with the short ribs. The short ribs were eh. I think my pot roast is better so that’s kind of a weird comparison. And then the shrimp and grits weren’t that great. I make better at home too. So really nothing to write home about at the end of the night. It was disappointing and I wish I had tried one of the trendier spots in town. Next time I will.
Our waitress, “A” (Adrienne) was great!
