Problem making reservations. The number listed has a reassuring message, but doesn't return calls. And reservations are not available on Open Table. I belong to a bridge group that has been playing bridge and eating lunch there once a month for several years. March 15 will be our day and I can't get in touch.
We had an 11:30 am reservation, but for some unexplained reason, they posted a sign that they would not open until noon that day. With a computer reservation, they should have either changed the available time, or allowed us to sit down. As it was, we sat outside their closed gate and watched the staff prepare for lunch service. Bad show.
The food was terrible.
We went to the Thanksgiving buffet dinner but found it somewhat disappointing. The only part of the so-called buffet was the salad bar. after you were done with your salad you were told to alert the waiter and they would bring you one plated dinner. That was not our idea of a buffet that this hotel used to do. They used to put on a beautiful spread and you could pick and choose from the buffet what you wanted. The plate of food served for Thanksgiving was typical but didn't have a lot of gluten free choices. it was very expensive, didnt even include one glass of wine and the gratuity was added to the bill automatically so the servers didn't work very hard for their tips and we had to wait a long time to get our bill it was very very very disappointing I wouldn't return for a holiday celebration.
The Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. The restaurant is good for families with children. The booths are especially nice.
Horrible restaurant & food except good service.
CHEF WAS AWESOME, JUST MADE A BATCH OF CLAM CHOWDER. THE FOOD WAS AMAZINGLY GOOD. I HAD A CLUB BLT AND IT WAS SO GOOD. PLUS I COULD ONLY EAT HALF THE PORTIONS WERE SO GOOD. I WOULD GO BACK AND DO IT AGAIN.
Food was inventive (can't remember exact combination of ingredients but lavash and hummus and some delicious surprises) and pleasingly presented. Garlic fries were proclaimed "the best ever" by my companion. Burger came with fresh trimmings.
Wait person helpful and courteous after a bit of initial confusion (no, we aren't here for some geriatric confab even tho we are both elderly).
Place was empty except for us. Sad, as they say. Very nice place, worth a visit.
Stayed inside the Hilton, so of course had to try the internal restaurant. Smaller menu than we expected, but we had marvelous cocktails, and perfectly cooked steaks with lovely side dishes. Appreciated the attempt at them lighting candles, but the ceiling is literally glass, so it's not exactly cozy-romantic for a date. Also, a bit odd having hotel room hallways like RIGHT above your head.
It was a Saturday night at 7:30 and there was only one other table occupied. Fortunately the food was good and our server very good.
I don't know why it was so dead being that the hotel was full. We were just happy to have a decent meal and go right to our rooms after an 8 hour drive!
Associated with the hotel we stayed at that included a free breakfast. While there were many options at the buffet to choose from each day the ONLY thing that was ever hot was the coffee and the oatmeal.
Slow/poor service from the weight staff. Kitchen either ran out of food or opted to not restock cheese/fruit/salad bar which was to have been included with the prix fixe meal. Meal was advertised to include fresh, local vegetables. The only vegetable on the plate was green bean casserole. The meal was not a good value for the price charged.
There were five of us at Grille 101 to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. The salad and dessert courses were buffet style with many choices. The main course of the turkey dinner and beverages were served. the restaurant is large and the tables are not crowded together. It was a very pleasant experience at a very reasonable price.
Staff was great. Food was mediocre at best.
The staff was wonderful and the food amazing. Kudos to the omelette bar - she was fantastic at handling four hot plates at once.
I was there with two friends. He had the seafood special. His wife and I had the Mahi. My friends are both rather picky but they were thrilled with the food and the overall dining experience. We all agreed we would definitely go back.
We typically don't eat in hotel restaurants but wanted to try the Grille in San Rafael based on the reviews. The restaurant was mostly deserted when we arrived at 6:00 PM but service was very, very good, none the less. Our waiter was cheerful and accommodating. The booth we sat in was a little too bright for dinner, but we could have moved to another table and didn't. The food was fair but everything was topped with too much dressing, sauce, or gravy which masked the taste. For example, the soup appetizer was a bouillabaisse but the broth was too thick and overpowered the flavors of the fish. The steak we had for our entrée was tender and done medium rare, but again, drowned in sauce and little bits of blue cheese which overpowered the flavor of the meat. Due to the fact there are other restaurants in Marin that serve steak and American food better, I would probably not go back.
This restaurant located in the Embassy Suites, which we happened to be staying at, was a great find ! We actually ate there twice. The food and service was absolutely "great" both times that we were there. Would definitely dine there again if we happen to be in the area in the future.
The restaurant staff along with the entire hotel staff was exceptional. ....we came in from San Antonio...finding great...friendly...well manned staff is difficult to find. So when an entire staff is so kind...it totally stands out. You all are doing things right. Keep up the exceptional work! We will be back and this will be our hotel.
It met our expectations. Very convenient when staying at the hotel.
Food is always good . Especially the soups and salads. Nice place to go after happy hour and if your staying at the hotel it very convenient .
while the food was good, not outstanding, our waitress was on the run. she had too many tables. our major complaint was that the filet mignon for the special was not available. 'ran out last night.' well, that's enough time to restock...!
After we were seated we were ignored, for water or beverage for 10 min.
Lobster Tail was out, I only eat fish. We were ignored for bread and beverages
until our meal came. For 43$ I got 3 small tacos with 1 deep fried shrimp per taco.
They were cleaning tables as we ate our dessert, hustling us out, why did I leave a tip?
