Really well executed but boring food. So generic, so lacking character. But well done! Good service too. We only went there since all other places were booked due to the conference.
This restaurant is becoming our regular now. We have been here 3 times and every time we came here we had amazing time, great food and great service.
Everything was fabulous--best French Toast made from brioche
Great food and service. Enjoyed it very much.
Went to the Grill@ St Regis for dinner before a performance at Yerba Buena - this is going to be my go to place for SF MoMa , Yerba Buena etc - fantastic food and great selection of wines by the glass / beyond the usual / great way to begin and/ or end an evening
Everything was perfect from start to finish. The only annoying thing during the evening was couple who brought their child who could walk and talk that was crying most of the time we were eating.
Took a long time business associate for dinner. Atmosphere of elegance and quiet is great. Service was super attentive. Food was okay.... tasty but nothing special. Simple salad was small for the price; lamb chops were tasty but the medium rare order was medium around the edges and almost raw in the middle and the root vegetables were a tad undercooked, making them taste more raw than was palatable. Cocktails were nice.
Great hamburger but my wife's pasta was way over cooked which is unacceptable for a restaurant in a nice hotel like the St. Regis
The Grill at Four Seasons is as good as any top shelf culinary restaurant in San Francisco. The menu might not be broad but its has just right entree selection and everything is prepared with high culinary style. We had the sea bass and the filet and both were delicious. Our server Rachid was fantastic and made sure we had a great evening without the kids. Highly recommend.
Well informed, attentive and conscientious waiter, helped with the wine selection and specialty drinks and surprised me with a birthday "Alaska" all while keeping us on our theatre curtain schedule. Food was wonderful, so all in all it was a lovely girls-holiday-night-out celebration.
Thank you ever so much.
Good food but very very small portions. Bartender did not make my GF cocktail correctly and wine bottle ordered was not available. Decent service. Overall not worth the 4 star $$
The food is always prepared consistently well. The staff is amazing and take the experience in any direction you want. They have performed without notice and Benny's energetically involved. They always follow the clients lead. I enjoy the the variation and the standards. Sea bass and lamb chops are my favorite. Thoroughly pleasant experience and Fachid and Carlos are warm and welcoming.
The service was superb. We were sharing a few appetizers and the staff was very accomodating to our needs.
Great place with excellent food and service. Quiet and comfortable.
The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. They gracefully accommodated a gluten free friend, and everything service wise was just spot on. They were friendly without being intrusive. The noise level was excellent for conversation and the ambiance/decor, while simple, was calm and beautiful. Will definitely be back.
Great food. Very nice waiter, knowledgeable about the menu
Outstanding food and service!
I took some customers here. 6 people total. The menu is small, but the choices are good. The problems I have with this place are the prices (very high), food portions (quite small), and the fact that only 2 of the 20 or so wines were under $100. I take customers to nicer places weekly. And I'll pay for nicer wines...but my options are limited when wines that go for $100 in other restaurants are listed at $180 here. On the plus side, the food tasted great and the service was wonderful.
A sad experience for my VIP customers and I.
a) Bourbon featured on the menu was unavailable, but later available at the St. Regis bar.
b) The sommelier's suggestion to upgrade my wine choice to a better bottle for the same price as my choice was not in stock was an uncomfortable moment in front of my customers.
c) The 1" thick filet mignon was well done versus medium, but at this point it no longer mattered.
The restaurant and hotel staff were very nice, but this just felt like an older restaurant that nobody really goes to anymore. Most of the places around with waterfront were completely booked and this being the Saint Regis, I thought would be at least somewhat busy as well, but there were literally only two other tables dining there at 7pm. The menu online did not match the menu we were given and the prices were higher for less oz (meat). It was almost too quiet to really enjoy it when you’re expecting some ambience and lively atmosphere even for a classy “quiet” restaurant. The food certainly tasted good so I can’t knock that. We did seem to wait quite a while for the waiter a couple of times which shouldn’t be the case when there were only a few tables dining. For two of us that didn’t drink it was quite a hefty price tag at $200 out the door plus valet.
Lovely atmosphere. Salmon, pork chop, veal delicious. Delicious salad. Excellent service.
The kind Manager removed our food charges. Chefs and waiters need experience. Service great! Food not in that category.
The food and service at this restaurant is excellent. I was in SFO on business and I was so impressed that I had dinner on two consecutive nights. The only thing to be aware is that the restaurant automatically adds 20% gratuity in the bill.
The food was amazing. I had the salmon and my wife had filet mignon. The food was cooked to perfection and the service is absolutely impeccable. This place is now a must at least once per trip to San Francisco. We were well attended to. Even the manager came over to make sure everything was up to snuff. I can't recommend this place enough.
Wonderful service, beautiful food that tasted delicious
Tastefully understated
We have become regulars at this place. The service is always amazing as well as the food. This gem of a restaurant is st the top of my list!
Fantastic all around. Absolutely nailed the food - everything is excellent. Love it...
I went to The Grill with my partner and a friend for a Saturday brunch. The interior of the St. Regis and The Grill is opulent and warm.
The service started off a little stale -- maybe they were just getting the juices flowing as we were one of their first customers. But as the meal went on, the service became great. Our server was the perfect mix of conversational and informational; but also focusing on letting us enjoy our meal and our social time. He made an extra effort to call me by my name, despite me not being a guest at the hotel (guessing they figured it out from my Open Table reservation).
The actual delivery of the food was as close to fine-dining style as you would probably want for brunch. Very thoughtful and attentive without being over the top.
I'm focusing so much on the service because, when done well, it really enriches the meal experience. Our server was a pro -- wish I remembered his name so I could applaud him here.
The food was good -- we focused on vegetarian options (and there were quite a few) and I can't complain. They offered an amuses bouche that was delicious and a fun surprise.
This is not the cheapest place for brunch (think $60-$70 per person) -- you probably aren't used to prices this high for a meal so early in the day. If the service weren't so great, it might not be worth it. But it was a really nice experience and I think I will go back.
Elegant decor, muted ambience and wonderful service throughout the meal. Food well presented and clean, well flavored dishes.
Great food and service every time! Never disappointing!
The dishes served were all excellent. The Veal Chop was probably the best of the meats. The restaurant has a sidewalk view, and a good list of menu choices, especially the grill items. It was a fine dinner but a little expensive for what was received.
Location Location Locations. This restaurant is in the perfect location if you are going to SF Moma or going to a show at Yerba Buena.
The restaurant is very pleasant and, with only a few other occupied tables at 7 p.m. midweek, was not noisy. The wait staff was friendly and efficient but not overbearing or intrusive, which allowed our party to converse among ourselves without either being interrupted or going without refills on water, bread, etc. And at the end, the waiter pointed out that a service charge had been added to the bill, so that we wouldn't accidentally tip twice. Downside: The food was good but not stellar, so not really worth the prices charged.
We shared a special night here. We ate delicious salmon, veggie burger, Frisbee salad and the gnocchi paired with chardonnay (Californian and the French.) The whole team made it a great experience. I also dined here alone as well and it is a nice experience :D. The service is wonderful and has old school charm. We appreciate Team Grill very much. Xo- Reese and Yvannia
Superb in every dimension!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to The Grill. We had a 7:30 show at Yerba Buena Center and tried it as a 'pre-theater' venue. Was a great choice. Bar, wine list, and menu were all to our liking and the service was so efficient that we were done in plenty of time without feeling rushed. We particularly liked the Bouillabaise and the baked alaska dessert. We ordered a la carte but both the tasting menu and the prix fixe menu looked great and seemed a "comparative bargain" This place not cheap, but really delivers.
We very much enjoyed our breakfast at Grill. The service was elegant and the food plentiful and delicious. Presentation was picture worthy. We are looking forward to our next stay at St Regis, and will definitely enjoy Grill again.
We were celebrating a dear friend's 96th Birthday!! When I confirmed the reservation with Carlo, he made a special effort and gave us a fabulous secluded table. Bill, our waiter was superb! Right on time when we needed another cocktail, never felt rushed! The filet, veal chop and lamb were excellent, cooked to perfection! The evening was memorable for all and we would return in a heart beat!
Amazing restaurant! Kudos to David, Carlos and the rest of the crew. We had a wonderful experience. The service was quick and efficient. The food was delicious and plentiful.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will be coming back in the near future.
