Grill & Vine Ratings and Reviews
Good service. Excellent foods. But beware, they do not honor 10% discount for spg members on set menu. It should be clearly identified if it was the case on their website and paper menu instead of denying discount at the end of the meal when members presented their membership numbers at billing moment.
We arrived on time and were shown to a table. The server came by to take drink orders and tell us about the specials. He had a very poor knowledge of the specials and didn't even know the pricing . It took them 15 minutes to serve us two beer. There were 4 of us, one ordered the special and the rest ordered off the menu. Our food took over one hour to arrive. The vegetables on the special were cold. We were not given a desert menu nor an option to order anything. When we complained to the manager he brushed us off and said he really didn't notice any issues. All in all, the service was a long way from what you would expect from such an expensive restaurant.
Extremely poor greeting/hosting/seating staff in front. Sunday, Sep 10th 2:10 we walked in very excited to try this seafood restaurant on their roof top patio in such competitive and congested area with so many great restaurants and, the hostess literary trashed our appetite and excitement. We left and didn't dine there. I always wonder why restaurants spend millions to build and run huge operations but handle the first contact with guests often poorly and losing money and perhaps repeat money so easily. After we left I opened my opentable app and there were plenty open tables exactly as we left there
Loved our dinner here!!! Focaccia was yummy, bufalo caprese was out of this world, pasta with meat sauce, arugula and goat cheese was terrific. Wine was fairly priced. The server was great. Normally I'd stay away from a "hotel restaurant" but this is situated so that it feels like a stand alone restaurant. Definitely go there if you're staying in Whistler!!!
We came to Whistler for my birthday and originally had a reservation elsewhere. A friend of a friend highly recommended this place and since we were staying at the hotel we decided to change our reservation. The service was good but the food was disappointing. My husband's pork chop was so overcooked and dry and my Linguine Vongole was pretty underwhelming. The Foccaccia with rock salt and oil/vinegar dip was tasty though. There were not many other patrons in the restaurant so the ambience was quite dull. We will not rush back - there are too many great restaurants in Whistler to choose from although the hotel accomodations at the Westin are exceptional.
Wow! Thanks so much to the staff and chefs at Vine & Grill. I booked a table for my fathers 75th and the staff went out of their way to make it special . The food was absolutely stunning . Each flavour was different and my palate was singing! I would not hesitate to go again - in fact I'm looking forward to my next trip to Whistler and to eat there. Well done!
This was my first visit to whistler with the family. We had dinner and Breakfast at the Grill and Vine. They offer a breakfast buffet with vey healthy choices. There is a wide variety of restaurants in Whistler to choose from but the Grill and Vein was the perfect fit for our family.. Both of my daughters are vegetarian and this restaurant offers a great vegetarian dishes. The rest of the family enjoyed a variety of steak and seafood.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy a quality food and wine. Great service with an outstanding mountain view.
Our server Lindsay, was so far above and beyond making our evening fabulous! He made it an amazing experience.
The food was fabulous as well and we had the chef's 3 course meal for a great value.
The ambience is not great. We may have gone elsewhere when we arrived if it wasn't a long weekend and probably a problem to get in anywhere else. We are so glad we stayed.
Good food, good atmosphere. We had three adults and one child (they recommend you mention your bringing a child in reservations--highly recommend as they have a lot of unique booth and high bar seating) so we had a high chair. We did an early dinner (6:15) and the restaurant wasn't super busy, left around 8pm and it was much busier. Staff was friendly, helpful but not overly so. We got 4 cocktails and two wine samplings, one appetizer, three entrees and desserts and the total (including 20% tip) was $215 USD, so was satisfied. I didn't love my meal, but liked it a lot. Would go back but wouldn't rave about it. Probably wouldn't bring a kiddo again.
NOTE: This was in the Westin, for some reason we thought it was a littler further up the road as a stand alone so just a friendly note. Third floor, no signs on the outside of the Westin or even once you walk in.
The service and food were very good. Three disappointments: 1) seafood pasta on web site no longer available but they did accommodate for an extra charge 2) limited dessert menu - no crumble or creme caramel, but the gelato was fruity and delicious 3) the valet did not tell us there was an hourly parking option so we paid $34 for parking which added considerably to the price of the meal.
The Grill & Vine is one of the best choices in Whistler for fine dining. The room is large but its broken up with high-backed banquettes and some high tables, so it can feel intimate depending on where you are seated.
Service is excellent. Staff are well trained and many have been working here for years.
It's got an extensive wine list.
The beef two ways (flank steak and short rib) is excellent. The flank steak is one of the best I've ever had.
We stay at the Westin frequently (10-15 times a year) so it's like our second home and the staff at the Grill & Vine make us feel at home.
We love it.
It kept coming up on open table for available reservations. That is because it is very expensive and most people that ski all day want a reservation so that they can expect a good meal at the end of a hard day on the slopes but not fancy dining. Too pricey and too fancy for most apres ski. Hence why we were able to get a reservation. Uncomfortably expensive for family dining. Limited reasonably priced wines. Good tasting pasta. We ordered the pasta because it was the most reasonable thing on the menu. Drinks all very over priced....
