My favorite restaurant in New York and my weekly must do. I am always greeted by the owner and treated with respect and graciousness. The waiters treat me with one on one service. The food is delicious and you can adjust the menu to add other ingredients. At some point Mario the owner will sit with you and ask how your meal is? I always feel at home in this old nyc style restaurant of sophistication . Thank goodness this restaurant exists and serves the best Italian restaurant in nyc. Katarina

This was our first visit to the Grifone and what a lovely surprise. The restaurant is wonderfully quiet so you can have a pleasant conversation during dinner. The service was charming and fun. The food was extremely good. We will make a point of returning very soon.

A great Valentine’s Day! With delicious salmon and a steak that is thick,tender and juicy. This is a find in nyc as restaurants of this quality and old time nyc service is not available anymore. The owner Mario greets you and makes sure that your experience at the restaurant is perfect. The waiters aim to please and serve you in a professional manner. This is a must go to restaurant if you live in nyc or are visiting. This is a restaurant that I bring friend,clients and celebrate special occasions. Griffones is old time New York. It is an elegant restaurant with white line tablecloth and napkins. You are always greeted by the owner Mario who welcomes you with open arms. During your meal Mario will join you to ask how your meal was. You will often receive an after dinner drink on the house. The food is the best ITALIAN food that I’ve had in New York. Disappointing. Could be so much better than it is. A NYC Italian restaurant would of course serve great pasta, right? No, in fact their pasta is soggy...not even just a bit over cooked-soggy! Salad dressing almost flavourless. Too bad...it would be a great little place to frequent on the UES. Won’t go again.

Booked table for 5 for special occasion and had a fantastic experience. We arrived on time but table wasnt ready due to prior diners still there. Maitre D immediately offered drinks at the bar. Table opened within 10 minutes. Lots of specials in addition to menu options. Wine advice was on point. Bonus touches: coat check, antipasti as soon as seated at the table, very knowledgeable waiters, and unrushed dining experience in small, refined atmosphere. Would return without hesitation.
