We came for our 40th anniversary and were treated to a private room with fresh flowers and the most accommodating waitress! The food was delicious and we had a lovely and memorable evening!
We have historically made this our annual Father’s Day dining spot for the past 10 years. My hubby loves their Fish and Chips and the plethora of fresh British beers on tap. An unexpected trip brought us to an opportunity to dine midweek and boy what a difference! Slow service, cold food and an inattentive wait staff showed us a completely different side of this restaurant. In a largely empty restaurant, it made zero sense. Very, very disappointing!
Great food, service & atmosphere! Will be back often!
As always the food was excellent. I love the crab cake and tonight the colcannon and string beans that can with it were also very very good. My husband had the Guinness Stew and liked it a lot. The portion was so large he brought some home and has his lunch for tomorrow too. Our service was attentive and quick. No complaints. We will be back!
My wife ordered the omelet but she could not eat it because it was full of salt. It had to be sent back and she ordered two eggs over easy which came in a timely manner. While we were not charged for the omelet, no one apologized for the inconvenience.
Wonderful meal and reasonably priced. The room got a little noisy, but the service was great. Very friendly wait staff and beautiful building.
Great spot for dinner after a visit to the Little Washington Winery and Wine Loves Chocolate. Delicious meal, good wine and beer selections, attentive service. Lovely atmosphere in old farmhouse with wrap-around porch and cozy dining rooms.
I love the service at Griffin Tavern. Best food and the nicest crew. Love it every time we come!!
Delicious dishes: squash ravioli, shrimp and grits, sea scallops with polenta, mahi mahi. Save room for dessert!
As always . . . . FABULOUS. We always enjoy Griffin Tavern
We love eating at the Griffin. In addition to Griffin being my family name, the food is excellent, we know the chef! It's a friendly neighborhood tavern and restaurant near where we live in Flint Hill, VA. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Good beer selections and local and other good wines. Music on the weekends. Try it you'll like it. Plus a visit to Rappahannock at one of the wonderful B&Bs is addictive and you'll want to return often.

We had a fantastic dinner. Admittedly it was a relatively late on a cold midweek night so we may have gotten extra attention given the few customers, but the service was top notch and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the meal immensely and hope to go back soon.
Great food as always as well as friendly service.
I love the Griffin Tavern. The food is always good here.
One of the best meals I’ve had! Incredible chef, prompt service, beautifully done meal.
Fantastic dinner. We will definitely be back to check out the lunch scene.
We've always had a great meal here. Last night was just an off night. Felt like different chef but same food. We'll go back.
Second visit to the Griffin Tavern. This time it was for my Mother's Birthday (she was visiting from out of state). The meal was outstanding and when I made the reservation I had indicated that it her Birthday. They had neat little birthday decorations on the table. Service was outstanding. We are new to the area and I have a feeling this will become a regular spot for us...
Good selection of food and drink. Great service.
Great food and great service. Easy to make reservations online
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere out in the country.
This my favorite restaurant in the Warrenton area.
We've been to the Griffin several times and they have yet to disappoint. The burgers are amazing and my Scottish husband appreciates the British pub offerings. We'll be back soon!
I personally didn't care for the potato chips, but we had agreed to split an order of fries among the three of us, and they were delicious. Enjoyed that there were abundant and charming Christmas decorations all around. Food was delicious.
We go to Griffin Tavern several times a year and it is always great. The staff are particularly fine, with good service and helpful, friendly attitudes. Food is always tasty and satisfying. My husband likes the Ploughman’s Lunch and I am partial to the crab cakes. Fish and chips are always good. It only gets too noisy if there are large family groups, but if you request a quiet table, they may be able to find one. Working fireplaces are a nice feature, and parking is good. In the summer, they have fabulous gardens.
Fantastic food and service!
The food was tasty and very well presented. Our waiter, George, was AWESOME!!! He made this 50th birthday celebration special and took great care of us. This is a great place. I only wish there was a little bit more room for the band and dance floor. Thanks for a wonderful evening for this special occasion.
Food was good, kitchen was slow (waitress was friendly and lovely), meal was expensive
Our server was amazing! She was attentive and very friendly. The food did take awhile to come out, but was delicious! Only compliant was from one of the girls in my group of 5, and that was that the veggie sausages was morning star. $14 for two eggs and veggie sausage she could buy from walmart for $5 seems ridiculous. Other than that ever satisfied with our Brunch.
Once again, Griffin Tavern, did not disappoint. All four of us had excellent food and drink. The Halloween decorations were outstanding.
Well-prepared and presented meal. Prompt, attentive service. Engaging staff. Cozy venue.
A very nice place. Wait Staff a little on the slow side. But nice non the less. I especially liked the option to take a growler of beer home from the Taps.
Lovely old house dining rooms and pub room. Beautiful location in Piedmont Virginia. Well maintained gardens for outdoor dining and great food. Our friends came from Hume and we came from Culpeper. It is the perfect half way point. We enjoyed our respective anniversaries together.
Great destination for a classic English pub experience! Food is amazing and the staff could not be more friendly. Put it on the list!!!
Great food and service.
Love the crab eggs Benedict with the potatoes. My husband has a new favorite—the smoked trout Benedict. We will return !
Great brunch menu and food. Nice experience. We will certainly return.
In the middle of nowhere sits a tavern with great burgers, Shepherd's Pie, fish and chips, fries and now a host of other things not to mention a decent wine list with good pours at reasonable prices. If you are in the area, and not looking for a Michelin two or three star, this is the place for an excellent dinner. Nice rooms but not great ambiance. The excellent local art and great staff make up for the minimal ambiance though.
Service was good. Food portions are big.
Ravioli wasn't tasty.
Lovely old home converted to cozy restaurant. Outdoor seating with view of the mountains. Outstanding chef creates unique and delicious meals. Attentive and pleasant staff make for a dining experience that makes you want to come back.
