The wait staff was very attentive, and the food was exceptional. We make a point to eat there any time we are visiting Bend.
May go back for happy hour, food was good but overpriced. Drinks were way overpriced. They only serve happy hour drinks in the bar. Servers did a great job and worked as a team. We were dining for our anniversary which we mentioned on our reservation. No mention of anniversary, we did get a window seat but overall just felt like an ordinary dinner, not a special occasion. We didn’t feel like there were very many options for a special meal. Steak, chicken salmon and salads are all things we fix at home on a regular basis. When going out we like to order foods we don’t normally cook. Although what we ordered was tasty.
Our meal was just average. We would dine here again if a group were going, but would not choose this restaurant on our own. The prices are high, and the food does not justify the cost. It's just average. One of us ordered a filet mignon, and it was chewy. The flat iron was more tender. The toffee pudding cake was less than satisfactory; it was more a molasses cake than anything else. Not poor enough to return to the kitchen, but certainly not what was expected of this restaurant. The views out the windows are great, that's the redeeming factor (as well as the service, when the server could be found).
Great dinner --good food and very excellent, attentive service. We'd go back.
Overpriced fir what you get.
We arrived at Greg's on a beautiful warm evening and started with some cold chardonnay wine. We both ordered the rotisserie chicken which was very tasty. After enjoying our dinner and wine we opted for the sticky pudding to finish the evening. Our server, Teresa, was great.
We experienced excellent service, a beautiful view of the Deschutes River and delicious food.
Had a wonderful Girl's Day, ordered some drinks, an appetizer and then our meals. Even though we took forever to get our orders in, our waiter was awesome and friendly with us :)
Birthday Dinner- We were immediately greeted by the hostess, the entire staff was welcoming and friendly.
Our order was taken a d delivered promptly, the drinks a d food were excellent
We'll be back!
Service was good; however, not great. My husband got his beer right away and I had to wait for my wine. Our server noticed I didn't have it and went to get it for me. We ordered an appetizer and it came quickly; however, I noticed other tables receiving bread which we didn't nor were we offered. I had to ask our server and she brought us some. We had a lovely river view; however, the sun was shining in my husband's eyes after we were there for a while and we had to hunt down a busboy to take care of it. Someone else should have noticed this and offered to put the blinds down. Then, when I went to pay, I had two $40 gift cards ($80) total; however, the server said it was only $40. I have the receipt from Costco where I bought them and they were worth $80 so now I'm out an additional $40. We live here and have only been here a few times and the ambiance is nice; however, our service was just ok.
It was our final Oregon dinner of our 2019 vacation.
If you are eating vegetarian, this place is awful. Some of the worst options I’ve had in town.
What a great meal!! Great Service Thanks Santiago!! Just did not care for the "Salsa" accent on my Artichoke and Spinach appetizer! Ruined the taste. Otherwise good place to eat. I'm from Spokane Washington. Would go again next time in Bend!
We had stopped in the night before for a drink in the bar after having dinner at another location.
We read the menu and decided to dine there the following evening. It was as good as we expected.
I also learned of a new wine I enjoyed.
Always love dinner at Greg's when we're in Bend. Perfect night to sit outside and enjoy the activity on the river!
We always have to have dinner at Greg's Grill when we are in Bend. The food is always great, and the service exceptional! Where else can you have a nice dinner with family in such a beautiful setting in Bend? Thanks for always exceeding expectations!
Great food and fun fir our anniversary! Got a free desert💕
Nice place, good atmosphere, quite large. Good was good. Had prime rib since they didn’t have any Pork Ribs. Husband had roasted chicken. All come with vegetables of the day and potatoes. Good prices and good value. They also have patio dining looking at the river.
Went there for the ribs. Ordered them. 10 minutes later server came and said the ribs aren’t available- they weren’t ready and cooked yet. So ordered steaks. Medium rare. After LONG wait the steaks arrived and one was definitely a medium. Big disappointment for a $36 steak. Ordered a second beer. Never arrived and had to ask again for it. And note- time before this when we ate there and wanted the salmon or fish tacos we were shocked to find out they served FARMED FISH!! It was not wild so I had chicken. Big disappointment. The place and service is really lacking. Not going back.
Had family visiting and thought this place was a great idea for a casual dinner. It was. We had a great time. My new favorite place in the Old Mill area. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food and drink. Service was great. Will definitely go back again.
We love Greg’s Grill for the ambiance and scenery. Unfortunately on Sunday night with our daughter and a guest the food was not great quality. My daughter and I had the beet salad. It was barely dressed so dry. The chicken was also dry. The chicken was just kind of dumped on the salad and the beets were few and hidden so the presentation was not what we would’ve expected. My husband had the bbq chicken which wasn’t real hot and dry as well. Out food came out so quick that it made us wonder if it was just warmed up. We’d probably go back at some point but it certainly won’t be my first choice since Bend has great choices. The salad was $18 which seemed high for what we got
Greg’s Grill inhabits such a lovely building in a great location. The service is usually very good. However, the food is not commensurate. On a recent visit, we waited about 45 minutes after ordering due to a large party that preceded us. What? They aren’t used to large parties? It wasn’t that large — there were plenty of vacant tables. When our food arrived, the coho was over cooked and the green beans barely cooked and rather tough. A steak was also burned around the edges. So the timing was off. The menu could be a bit more inspired or at least could feature some interesting options to the standard steaks, salmon, and a couple of veggie dishes. A super nice plus, though, was that the manager did not charge for a round of drinks and a dessert. So Greg’s staff tries hard to please. Just improve the menu.
Wasn’t really satisfied with our entrees
The lamb chops were overcooked
The prime rib was a pretty thin cut
Our server Ryan was very good
Table 609 - PRIMO
It may be good for lunch or dinner, but breakfast is a disaster. Even the waiters admitted that they only do breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and aren’t really set up for breakfast.
We were there for mother's day. Took over an hour to get our food order. The server apologized and said they were really busy even though the restaurant was only half full. Food was barely edible.
I would recommend to a friend but maybe for dinner or lunch. The breakfast was cold and not that tasty. Everything else was great- atmosphere, service, noise level, etc.
We have been going to Greg's Grill for years. When they opened, the good was great. Over the years, the food has slipped into "just okay." The ambiance and service are great. My husband got a filet for dinner. He said it wasn't seasoned and they just slapped a pad of butter on top. The steak wasn't even warm enough to melt the butter. I hit the country salad. It was very boring and lacked flavor. They recently updated their menu, which I thought would help, but it really didn't. Because of the location and beautiful building, they are almost guaranteed business. I just wish they'd put more effort into their food.
A lovely birthday celebration by two senior women. The waiter couldn’t have been more gracious. The Ruben sandwiches were perfect!
Always very pleased with every aspect of Greg’s Grill. The one place we always bring our out-of-town guests!
Very beautiful restaurant and view. Exceptional service. Reasonable prices. A favorite for sure.
Birthday celebration. Server gave me free dessert as well as waiving the corkage fees on two bottles of wine we brought with us.
Nice layout with pleasant view overlooking the river and park. Main courses were delivered in the midst of enjoying our appetizer. Portions were generous. Had to search diligently to find much of any meat in the Shepherd’s Pie. Prices on the high side.
We went to Greg's Grill for Happy Hour and loved everything from the food to drinks to service to atmosphere. We can't wait to go back!
We have visited Greg's Grill numerous times over the years. On each and every visit, we have had issues with the food or the service. This last time, two pork chop specials were ordered by our party. They came out lightly seared on each side and raw in middle (similar to how Ahi Ahi is sometimes served- however never how you want to serve pork because of health concerns). While the server readily recognized this was unacceptable and sent it back to the kitchen to be put on the grill again, it took about 35 minutes to get the food back and most of the others in our party were finished with our meals. This ruined an otherwise celebratory mood that was the reason for the occasion. Free deserts were offered as an apology, but we think the restaurant should have provided voided the cost of the uncooked meals. Small item- the driving rock beat background music of this restaurant doesn't fit it's beautiful and elegant "up north woods" atmosphere. To be honest, the very best thing that Greg's Grill has going for it, is the location - right on the Deschutes River in the Old Mill. Food and service are sketchy at best. Eat at your own risk.
A wonderful date night for me and my husband of 3 years. Great food, perfect service and gorgeous view of the water. We live in Bend and will be back!
Service (Ashley) and food were excellent, as usual. Just wish they would offer at least one zinfandel by the glass on the wine menu. In two years of our dining at Greg's, they never once have had a red zin available by the glass. It's our favorite variety of wine. I don't believe I've seen a wine list at another fine dining restaurant that lacked a single zin by the glass.
One of our favorite restaurants in Bend - great food!! With that said, the furniture is in great need of repair.
We always love coming to Greg’s Grill when we’re in the area! Great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere whether dining inside or outside!
