Food was mediocre. Pasta overcooked and drowned in sauce.

Great service and food - well recommended , fresh homemade pasta and tiramisu. Pizza was 6.5 out of ten - just needed to be cooked more and less sauce.

The food was fine, but they were either understaffed or not super attentive. To be fair, it was Valentine's Day, but the restaurant was barely half full when arrived. We were a party of two with a reservation. We showed up on time, but stood at the front for about 5 minutes before anyone even looked up at us. When they did the person at the front looked at me and then offered to help the group standing directly behind us who had just walked in the door. Not a good start. They seated us in the back room by ourselves, gave us some menus and that was the last time we saw anyone for almost 20 minutes. When someone finally came over they said they had no idea anyone was sitting back there and offered us some water (not to take our order or get us anything else to drink). Five minutes later they came back with water and took the order. When we asked about a special we had seen on their website (1/2 priced wine bottles on Wednesday), the employee said they were unfamiliar with that special because they didn't normally work that day. She offered to look into it, but since we had been looking at the menus for 25 minutes already we just wanted to get the show on the road and order some food and opted for a glass of wine each. The wine and food came together about 15 minutes later and it was good, but other than a quick check-in about 5 minutes after it was dropped off there were no more check-ins, no top offs for the water or offers of another glass of wine. We didn't see a wait staff member again until our food and wine had been gone for almost 20 minutes and we were just sitting there. By that time the restaurant was getting to be about 2/3 full and we were asked if we wanted dessert, which we did, but by that point we had been there well over an hour and didn't want to sit around to see how long that would take. It just wasn't a good experience. Maybe we'll try again some day, but I doubt it.

Disappointing. Neighborhood place used to be better. Went on a pasta-craving whim, but was disappointed. Had a reservation, but no hostess stand anymore, replaced with Italian wines and fixings on retail shelves. "Sit where you like" was the harried waiter's comment, but no open tables. No prob, a little wait. Ambience: noisy, families, tastefully decorated, clean. After sitting, was looking forward to their customary soft, warm, garlic knots, but they were overdone, hard, crunchy. Dunked it instead in the regrettably sweet and tangy marinara sauce, which made it worse. House salad was over-loaded with carrot julienne/shavings - how odd and unlike what I thought an Italian restaurant should serve. Wasn't asked by waiter about ordering anything other than the water, so asked for a wine list - didn't recognize anything; ordered 1 each of the only Cabs, but they were so peppery. Lastly, Penne Vodka was meh, but a highlight in the otherwise disappointing visit.

We’d eaten here once before with our son when a renovation was in progress and enjoyed the food. Second time just me and my husband went. Confirmed the food is really good. I wish I could remember our server’s name because she was really good! Dark hair, tallish, slim, spoke with a slight accent. She recommended the piccata and the ravioli Gregorio and they were both delicious! She also recommended the tiramisu and said it’s the only dessert made in house. It definitely did not disappoint! Word to the wise - if you eat here, leave room for that! The reason I only gave 4 stars overall is the check in. There are two entrances to the restaurant - one is by the bar, the other is by a carryout area and a small market. There is no obvious host stand at either entrance, though and no one greeted us when we entered. We thought the first time we ate there that the confusion about where to check in would be remedied post-renovation but it wasn’t. Both times we walked in on the “market” side and stood there looking around. Then walked to the bar side…same thing. Finally, a server asked if I needed something, I told him we had a reservation, and he sat us. While we were eating, we heard another couple say they weren’t sure where or how to check in so we weren’t the only ones. If it’s seat yourself, they need a sign that says that. If you accept reservations, though, you kind of expect to be seated by someone. They need an obvious place to check in. The food and service are great! I’d hate for someone to walk out because they thought they were being ignored when they entered.

This is our second outing to this quaint restaurant. It is our new favorite restaurant to dine when we are in the mood for italian food! Everything is delicious, and the servers and wait staff are very nice and knowlegeable about the menu. I have celiac disease, so I am happy to report that they have an extensive GF menu! This time I had the braised beef short rib and I cannot say enough good things about this entree. They served it over creamy risotto, the beef was "melt in your mouth tender", and the gravy along with braised vegetables was just delicious! The owner has visited our table each time we've been there, and I see him greeting all his guests. It's so nice to have this restraurant right in our neighborhood!
