About Gregorio's Restaurant
Located in downtown Carlsbad is our Italian kitchen, Gregorio’s. Formerly known as Spirito’s, we have been serving up delicious Italian food for almost 25 years. It was originally created by an East Coast couple as a way to share their family recipes. From the beginning we have had loyal clientele that continue to dine with us today. In fact, it was from being loyal customers that we decided to purchase the restaurant. We have always considered it to be our “kitchen away from home”. In 2004, Gregorio’s replaced the name but kept the family recipes we loved so much as guests and have added more of our own. Plus a much more extensive wine list & full bar! We want to encourage you to come, have a meal with us and experience our Italian kitchen. It is our hope that you will make it your own “kitchen away from home”. Our goals are simple

Gregorio's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We have been going to Gregorio's in Carlsbad for many years. Whether it be a family dinner, a friends lunch, or participating in the regular fundraisers for the Carlsbad boys and girls club where the owners contribute generously, it has always been delicious food and drinks, thoughtful service and a good time. Don't pass by Gregorio's in the village of Carlsbad without stopping in.
We had the most delightful waitress.
Her name was Whitney.
She was absolutely charming and efficient.
We just finished a movie - "Off the Record"
with Jimmy Quill - a graduate of Carlsbad High! We are also celebrating Dennis Lees's 82nd Birthday. He said it was the best food he ever had and also best birthday!
Thank you for such a wonderful evening!
We had a wonderful time!

Everything was OK but we had reservations for 5 people and the table wasn't ready when we arrived. Also the table we finally got would really only fit 4 , so we we all felt very uncomfortable. We could barely fit all our entrees on the table. Other than that we would go back but would walk out if this occurs again
Love the location in Carlsbad. The outdoor patio, though on the street side, is far enough away from the street (and on the second level) that you don't feel like you are sitting in the street, like some places. Loved the food. Our waiter was great! Friendly and attentive....even though it was a busy night. Great food! Would recommend.
We had nine people for a birthday celebration. We got a great table out on the patio. Everyone raved about the food, especially the lasagna. The kids in the group loved the bread. Our server was great and kept all of our needs met. They even let us bring a birthday cake which they kept in the fridge for us until we wanted it. Overall, a very crowd pleasing place at a very reasonable price.
We have been to Gregorios once before as a family of 6 but this visit we took our 9 year old granddaughter for a weekend trip to Carlsbad. This was a special get away for the end of the summer and the restaurant was close to our hotel and she wanted to go there again. As it turned out she needs to put on some weight and we try to get her to eat any kind of bread or rolls and she has no interest in any of it but she tried their bread and not only loved it but ate 3 pieces. Our waitress was so wonderful ,she even gave us some to bring back home with us . We had a lovely dinner outside and the food was terrific!
We had a 6:30 reservation for 3. We got seated at 6:48. By 7, two other groups had sat down after us, one was a group of 2, the other a group of 10. Even though they sat down about 5-10 minutes after us, they received their food 10 minutes before us. We had great food (when it finally arrived at 7:50. I couldn't believe it took so long for our food. It seemed as if they forgot our order. Also, the waitress was asked to refill our waters after we ordered our salads, and didn't refill them until 15 minutes later.
Food is very good. For some reason the service wasn't. Perhaps it was the soccer team of 50 people on the patio. Go figure. We got out of there at 8:15, frustrated by the lengthy service.
Great food and service! We were there on a chilly evening and our waitress and hostess were so willing to accommodate our needs. We love the location right in the heart of Carlsbad. The only down side to this great little restaurant is the parking, we drove around a bit, but it was a Saturday night, probably the busiest time, we recommend it to all.
Gregorio's is a busy Italian restaurant in the main center on Carlsbad Village Drive. We enjoyed being in their outside seating area. They were pretty full, but service didn't seem to be impacted much. We enjoyed an order of cheese sticks (especially the 3-year-old), but weren't super impressed by the entrees. The tomato sauce was a bit sweet for our preferences. With so many other options nearby, we are likely to try other places prior to returning to Gregorio's.
Unfortunately, we left the restaurant shortly after being seated. It was Mother's Day, and rather than offering their regular menu, they had an "special" one that was more expensive with fewer choices and all a la cart . This did not suit my son who had planned to treat me, but not at these inflated prices simply due to mom's day.
Yes, it was Mother's Day...but we were served by possibly the bar tender and it was tiring always asking for more water, bread and ice tea as we waiting probably 35 minutes for our meal. The restaurant was probably 80-% occupied when we got there and 50% when we were finally served and eventually departed. We hadn't returned for probably 6 months, and have always enjoyed the service, but with no apparent manager on duty (on MOther's Day?), it was just a bit chaotic.
