Everything is perfect!
Absolutely stellar vegan, locally sourced menu. Along with the view and impeccable service, I’d rank Greens in my top 5 greatest vegetarian restaurants.
We have been eating here for lunch or brunch for many years. Always delicious and the menu is always changing. They use the best of San Francisco - we love the Acme bread. Open space overlooking the bay and the Golden Gate bridge - service is excellent. Highly recommended!
The food was great as was the setting. Beautiful views of the harbor and Golden Gate Bridge. The staff was also nice and welcoming. My only complaint was the speed at which we were served. We wanted a nice dinner and they wanted us out of there in 45 minutes! We were able to slow things down a little but still felt the meal was much too rushed.
consistently excellent in all respects with original cuisine selections that are healthy while being apitizing and attractively presented.
Most charming Scottish man was our waiter. They’d run out of the dish that I wanted so he brought us vegan soup. Been here multiple times. Food is always excellent. Wait staff is always wonderful. One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Green's is able to create winning combinations of healthy ingredients! I love it!
Fabulous view with floor to ceiling windows looking out towards the Golden Gate. Wonderful waitress with the kindest touch to details.
I love Greens restaurant and will return when ever I can.
It has a great menu, the wines and cocktails are fabulous. The people that work there could not be friendlier and helpful.
Large bustling main dining room with an incredible view of the Golden Gate. Our winter appetizer plate was good, but the entrees were overly heavy winter fare with lots of very filling beans and grains. My spinach filo rolls arrived on a bed of white beans in a cumin-y sauce, so they were soggy, and I didn't feel like the flavors complimented. The brochettes with chimichurri sauce really underperformed: my friend felt the veggies and tofu were undercooked; I found the latter flavorless and the sauce way too heavy on the parsley element. Service was intermittent but it's understandable because they were jam-packed on a Saturday night.
We have loved Greens since our first visit in 2004. Our table of 4 was happy with everything including our great waiter. Saw a great blue heron landing on the rocks from our table and enjoyed the change of colors from the evening sun.
Green’s is the home of gourmet vegetarian cuisine in America and it lived up to our very high expectations in every way. Superfine dining at half the price with the best view of the Golden Gate available. But it’s the elemental way the food satisfies that makes this such a fine restaurant. Thank you Deborah Madison,Edward Espe Brown and the Zen Center.
Most of the meal was wonderful. The grilled cheese sandwich was not. Not much filling, dry, tasteless bread. (It would have been better on the Acme bread served table-side.
Great ambiance with views of the waterfront and the Golden Gate bridge. A warm, interesting space with high ceilings and a wall of windows, where all tables take in the view. We picked this restaurant based on the views and the vegetarian menu. The dishes were imaginative and delicious. After eating here, my impression was of having had a great meal and experience, not that I just ate at a vegetarian restaurant. Highly recommended to vegetarians and omnivores.
Our waitress was exceptional and friendly
We took our 2-1/2 year old grandson for lunch after picking him up from pre-school. Were able to be at a window table and get a high chair so he was perfectly happy looking at all the sailboats and asking questions. We love Greens - the food is different, excellent, and the ambiance perfect for all occasions. We’ll be back!
PS our daughter was home with the baby and quite envious of our lunch experience.
Great view of sunset behind Golden Gate Bridge from our table. Food was excellent and they were very accommodating of our dietary restrictions (soy, dairy, and gluten-free). I would definitely go again.
Always a pleasure to go to Greens. The food is healthy, inventive and delicious. Beautiful space and views of the bay. Excellent service.
Overall good dining experience, with creative vegetarian dishes. Sunset view was amazing, most tables have a view.
Really great time, my wife and I brought our 2.5 year old and we all loved everything, Greens always satisfies.
Really nice plan for serious dining. Friendly good staff. Though comes with a price tag.
We had reservations. Yet the evening was a disappointment. We were rushed to order. Rushed through our first course and entrees. And after ordering dessert, we were ignored and left waiting for over an hour. This restaurant has lost its roots ,and is all inconvenience and hype. We won’t be back.
I have consistently been referred to Greens by individuals in my friend group and was excited to finally try the restaurant I had heard so much about. I booked a 6:45 table on Saturday 3/10/18 for five and explicitly labeled the reservation as a special occasion for my mother’s birthday. Walking in, the decor was amazing and really confirmed a lot of what my friends had said about Greens. However, upon check in we were notified that there would be a short wait as our table was prepared - this is quite fine as I understand some logicistal flexibility is needed. Over the course of the next 30 minutes I checked in with the server and front desk worker four times asking for a gauge on time and reason for why our reservation time was not honored while others walked in and were seated quickly. I received no apology or reason for the wait. Thirty minutes went by and finally we were seated; still no apology. Again, upon being seated and beginning our dining experience, the ordering staff were not in the slightest bit attentive to any of our needs or to the fact that we had sat without being asked to order for over 15 minutes. The experience was even more dulled by the constant spilling of water on our table and food plates by the waiter, culminating in the staff forgetting it was my mother’s birthday until we had begun to exit the restaurant.
As a small business owner (in the food and beverage space) I believe it is necessary to share feedback of situations such a this in order to better the experience of future patrons.
One of the only bright spots in our dinner was the incredible food - the chefs were quite extraordinary on that Saturday night!
I appreciate your attention to this matter.
As always great food in a superb setting
I love Greens. I’ve only had excellent experiences there. Everyone is very kind and helpful. The food is delicious, and they have many vegan options. The views are stunning and it is a comfortable place to enjoy yourself. I highly recommend Greens to everyone I talk to. It is my favorite place to go out to eat.
I haven't been to Greens in years because I no longer live in SF. As an old farm to fork person it was wonderful to introduce several young foodies to Greens and find that it was as good as I recalled and that they loved it too. And you just can't beat the view! They surprised us with a birthday treat, which was delightful. I'll be back in SF more in the future and you can bet I will be back at Greens as often as possible!
Beautiful time and loved the service and the food
Celebrating the final of the Education Program. Delicious Vegetarian Food!
Our Green's dining experience was excellent as always! Our server Les was excellent and helpful as always. We enjoyed the small dining room for our party of 5 which we requested. We always celebrate family birthdays here and plan to return soon.
Always good fresh and healthy. An icon in vegetation cuisine.
Sub par food that was bland. We are both vegetarians and expected more from this long standing restaurant.
Food was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and very sweet which makes the dining experience even better. Fantastic view of Bay and GG Bridge. And OMG to the chocolate mousse. So rich. Best to split with another person.
We were celebrating 2 birthdays with a late lunch. Greens treated us to a 1/2 glass of French Champaign each to start. our waitstaff was enthusiastic and gave great information. our food was promptly served, looked beautiful, and was delicious.
A great restaurant for a special occasion. Good vegetarian choices. Service is casual and friendly. Absolutely amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a beautiful clear day. We enjoyed the wild mushroom and cheese sandwich as well as the Paparadelle Pasta. And, as always, the Butterscotch Pot de creme is unique and delicious.
Restaurant with a great location and good view. Great food menu, all the dishes were amazing. Also great service and awesome wine list!
The food was fabulous as was the service. You can’t go wrong with the amazing view either!
I thought Green's is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. For Sun branch/lunch menu, some dishes had eggs, that I did not want to eat. It seems there were less strict veg/vegan items in the menu.
A little disappointing due to the fact that we waited quite a long time for our breakfast order. Tables around us that arrived much later had their food before ours. When the meals came the presentation looked hurried and a bit messy. The food does taste fresh although nothing outstanding when it comes to creativity. For all the hype I was underwhelmed.
They were great w my 1 year old daughter!!
