Toller erster Abend in San Francisco.
Veganes Essen , super Service 👍🏽😎☀️
I've wanted to try Green's for at least 20 years. My childhood friend, her family & mine decided to try Greens for Sunday lunch. Party of six. Rather than dining in the main dining room we were stuck in a corner in a small private room. The reverberation of our voices was unbearable...it is so loud and cramped but with one large window. However, facing the back of this small room meant you had to get up & walk to the other side of the table to see the Bay. I was sorry not to have had a chance to sit in the main dining room and take in the ambiance. Food was great, though a little pricey.
Giving up or cutting back on meat has been a long-time goal of mine but I just enjoy a burger / steak / ribs / chicken / etc too much.
But if I could eat at Green’s everyday, I’d give up meat forever. The flavors there are consistently fantastic and you simply do not miss the meat.
Thank you Green’s for expanding my palette and giving me an option for a better way of living.
Loved the red curry. Small portions with first course selections so order accordingly.
The food was exquisite, as always. Beautiful view of the harbor and Golden Gate, however early seating has the shades necessarily drawn from the sun. One of my favorite restaurants.
Greens has never disappointed. The food is as delicious as the setting is beautiful.
DINNER MENU needs help, doesn't compare to the lunch menu. We shared the Indian 'mezze' for $18 and portions and flavors were wimpy. I had the filo chard entree. The butter beans were great but the flavors were, again, meh. I liked my sparkling rose but it took too long to come. Not sure why, maybe because we were sitting in the back room. Food came out quickly, just wish it had s much zing as the lunch menu. The asparagus pizza was good.
the service was pretty terrible -- we were basically ignored.
Most wonderful restaurant in the Bay Area. Food surprises your senses every time.
Very good spot for lunch with friends as we come from different parts of the Bay Area. Food is always good, well prepared. Service is good but not intrusive.
My birthday dinner was delightful - delicious appetizer (asparagus & polenta), yummy entrees (lemon fettucine & chard/ricotta filo) and delightful dessert (butterscotch pot de creme) with a beautiful sunset view! Thank you!
Always a wonderful dining experience at Greens! We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Greens. Great view of the bay makes it even better.
We came here for our anniversary dinner while visiting San Francisco and the food was divine. Fresh, inventive and tasty.
Our server was to the point and very professional - no chitchat here - but overall very attentive. He brought us champagne on the house when he found out it was a special day for us.
The view of the marina and the bridge is really lovely, and we watched the sun go down as we drank some refreshing and unique cocktails.
While their menu is small and a little on the pricier side, they do what they do very well. We had an excellent visit overall!
I eat meat. All the time. Most meals without meat leave me thinking “this needs meat.” The food at Greens was not that way. It was excellent and very filling. It was a great end to the day.
I really love this restaurant as the service was excellent, food was delicious and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. It had a nice atmosphere and great view of the water.
We Loved everything about the experience! The food was amazing and the view was wonderful. definitely coming back. Recommend for a date night or family outing.
Nice location, decent food - very fresh. Very expensive and not an extensive menu
Not sure if the chef has changed but the food was below average - cold and sloppy in presentation. The service was ok though our server was great. We could see they were short staffed for a Sunday brunch and it took long to place our orders, get the check and pay. As usual the view was great and managed to get a table by the window.
Greens is such a special and unique place, so when an out-of-town friend who is a vegetarian came to visit, I knew she would appreciate it. And she did, exclaiming over the flavors and closing her eyes as she savored the food.
We shared an order of banana bread, and an order of hummus with tomato jam and olives.
The banana bread was good but not outstanding, but the hummus was wonderful. My friend declared it the best she ever had.
She had the Pinnacles Scramble and loved it.
I had the Greens Hash With Rolling Oaks Poached Eggs. First of all, the word "eggs" implies more than one, but there was only one. The serving on my plate was paltry compared to hers, and the flavors did not thrill me. As a result, I did not finish it, and was left feeling hungry. The levain bread was not crisp or hot or appealing, so I did not eat those either.
I had the Butterscotch Pot de Creme for dessert, and it was excellent. I would like to have another one right now.
She had the sorbets and also declared them excellent.
I gave it four stars because of my disappointment with the food. I gave the service five stars because it was excellent, although the people at the host station appeared confused. The noise level was too loud to have a good conversation. This app limits me to "energetic" as the loudest, but it was not energetic, just loud. The acoustics in that space are not conducive to "cozy," or "quiet conversation."
I will probably return because it was the first disappointing meal I have had at Greens, so I am willing to try again.
Amazing food, beautiful views, highly recommend. Would be great for a date or special occasion.
The dinner was rather disappointing. However, the service was outstanding. Will not come back
I have loved every meal that I have ever had at Greens. Local ingredients prepared extremely well. Best place for vegetarian food and one of the best places for all comers in the city.
Our experience was truly amazing. We were sat next to the window with a phenomenal view of the sunset. Our waiter was super accommodating of my food allergies and the menu was almost entire able to become vegan! The homemade macadamia nut ricotta was incredible!!
We came to Greens for my wife's birthday. I noted that on the reservation which I would normally do. Most restaurants just ignore that note, but both the greeter and the server wished her a warm happy birthday which set a nice tone.
Excellent as always ; menu is always seasonal and all dishes are exceptional
We arrived early, but they had a lovely table for us near the window. The food, as usual was outstanding. My wife and I both had the asparagus salad and the Indian Thali. Flavorful, yummy dishes.
The wine was excellent. Chloe, who took our orders, was present and mindful.
We always love coming back!
Wonderful , tasty, fresh organic meals. Beautiful dinning room with architectural features such as high ceilings and incredible wharf views. This is my favorite restaurant I go to every time I visit San Francisco. And every time I return there is a new menu to enjoy.
I came here after a long hike and was in town for a conference and wanted a healthy dining option! Greens definitely delivered! Service was attentive but not annoying. Max was really nice and even pulled the blinds down when he noticed I was wincing from the bright sunshine. I ordered the Indian Thali which was excellent and wish I had ordered two!! The mango and tamarind chutneys were perfection and incredibly scrumptious! The butternut and sweet potato gratin was also incredibly delicious as well! Ambiance is lovely and clientele is well behaved and professional. No children thank goodness.
Highly recommend for any occasion! It was a little hard to find and hidden all the way back in the marina in a building with a terrible plain exterior but interior is very nice.
I’m sorry to say I would not recommend Greens. We were looking forward to revisiting a favorite place, but it was an awful experience and disappointing food. The chairs were old and cushions sunken into the frame, the rug was dirty, service rushed and people running by our table back and forth. Seemed understaffed. The food, majorly uninspired which was the most disappointing part. Bland salad, mushy pasta, no flavor... sorry to say this.
Fresh & delicious. The chocolate mousse dessert is absolutely wonderful, rich & decadent, even the vegan version!
As a vegetarian how wonderful to have every menu option to choose from, for a change! Such a great variety of ingredients and flavors, all beautifully presented. A table for two by the window, watching the sun set behind the golden gate, enjoying imaginative and delicious food served by attentive staff. Highly recommended. And the flour less chocolate torte was magnificent!
I love to sit on the banquette near the north and of the restaurant, and allow the "out of towners" to sit looking out at the water. We were fortunate that our dinner went through sunset- when the warm glow of the setting sun was an added element to the excellent food and wine.
Greens is one of my favourite restaurants and I am never disappointed whenever I visit which alas is not very often since I am not a frequent visitor to San Francisco. As vegetarian I love the creative cuisine. And, the setting isn't bad either!
Terrific vegetarian choices with very healthy ingredients. Service was slower than we would have preferred but not a deal breaker. Just go with the intent of having a delightful unrushed meal in a terrific venue.
Friday night was a very special evening as we were celebrating the wedding of two of our best friends. We had a beautiful window table for our seat and wonderful service with Eli as our waiter. I would highly recommend Greens for breakfast/brunch, lunch or dinner. It was a special evening.
Consistently Good! Great Service!! Beautiful Setting!!!
Greens is a gem. It inspires one to slow down and savor wonderful food, good conversation, and the nourishment of a space absent of blaring music or an over-the-bar TV droning the news. Highly recommended.
I have enjoyed many meals over the years at Greens. At a recent dinner to celebrate a birthday, our party of 6 was seated in the back room, which is separated from the main dining area. The room does have a large window looking out onto the bay. However, the room is cavernous, with a high ceiling, hard surfaces, and bare walls. As the room filled, the noise level was extremely high, making conversation nearly impossible. In the future, I would decline to be seated in that room.
