The service sometimes these day is the only important thing when we eat out. Here at greens from entrance to exit was impeccable. I would add an note of excellence to Vanessa our waiter that was extra attentive to our needs. Not too much to bother our diner not too little let us hanging without the waiters attention.
Excellent service and food!
We brought our 1 year old daughter and they were very nice about it.
Fantastic brunch items -- creative vegetarian cuisine beautifully presented.
I have had lunch and dinner here over the last 18 years (I live in Los Angeles). I have NEVER ever once been disappointed and have always been delighted by their menu and food. I absolutely love this restaurant! I can't wait til the next time I come up to San Francisco so we can eat here again. Fabulous! Such good energy - vibes!
We were sadly disappointed overall...I had wanted to eat here since it opened, decades ago...the tofu dish was completely blah...I would NOT recommend this restaurant :/
Excellent food excellent ambiance! Love location - special place
Great setting overlooking San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. Plenty of parking, and Ft. Mason area nice to walk around the piers. Vegetarian cuisine was excellent, innovative, fairly priced. Extensive wine list. Service professional and enthusiastic. Have been many many times and always look forward to the next.
Great. Food and a great view of ggb
Good, healthy, interesting food with lovely view of Bay. Especially enjoyed vegan chocolate mousse.
We love Greens! It's our traditional spot for our anniversary because it always feels like a celebration to go to such a beautiful spot, right on the water, with lovely food and charming service.
My husband and I have been to Green’s many times, but we were never stuck in the back room where several large parties were incredibly loud. Service wasn’t as good back there either. Felt like we were an afterthought even though we had made reservations.
Unlike the previous few times we've gone to Greens the menu was uninspiring. Pizza, pasta as two of the few options were a disappointment to us.
I had requested for a candle light as a surprise for my sisters silver anniversary. I was not happy that even after multiple confirmations Greens did not have the table ready for the same. Otherwise they enjoyed the service. Thank you for the wonderful ambience and great food.
My daughters and I were visiting the city and we wanted to try Greens, our meal was very nice and so was the service.
I have always loved Greens. I am not a vegetarian, but I enjoy vegetables, and Greens has always had very special offerings. However, since Greens reopened after its terrible fire, its menu has changed....and not for the better. I find that garlic is much more prominent in dishes. Whereas its previous spring menu featured a delightful asparagus pizza, it is now offered with green garlic and goat cheese and red pepper flakes which is just too much...overwhelming the delicate asparagus flavor. They made mine without those items, but I should have had them leave off the roasted onions as well. Also, the spring pasta used to be with a lemon cream sauce and had fava beans, asparagus and sweet peas. Now the pasta is a Meyer lemon pasta with mint pesto (also with garlic). Plus Greens does not now offer its Seasonal Sampler Plate which was always my favorite. So I was very disappointed. Plus there was a large (20 people or so) group being seated as we arrived so there was a long wait until the hostess helped everyone with the their coats, their menus, etc. There were other wait persons available, but only the hostess was allowed to seat guests....a problem that is easily fixed. Will still return...hoping for better menu offerings next time. Still love the wait staff!!
The food at Greens is always exceptional-fresh organic produce, delicious sauces, and lovely presentation. I have been choosing their curry options for over 30 years, but the butternut squash curry I had on 5/14 was the best I've ever had. The desserts are always creative and artfully present. It is our favorite restaurant. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge are an extra benefit.
Hostess accommodated special seating to celebrate 91st birthday lady. Wonderful wait service. 5 of us shared family style and it worked out perfectly. Thank you for making our day!
The food was lovely but not much to choose from and very small portions. The main not much bigger then the entree. Ordering drinks, it seemed to take an age to come out and each time we ordered drinks we had to ask when it was coming. Food service was fine. Lovely views.
The service and food were amazing and the drinks were off the hook. I highly recommend you give it a try!
Great food. Excellent service. They even suggested we move tables for a nice view. Recommended!
We were a bit disappointed when we had dinner on Mother's day. The place was so busy that we were seated in a corner of an extra room with little to no view of the bay—in fact, it was the only corner without a window. The service was nice, though, but everything took a little longer and our food came lukewarm and not at the same time. Three of our party stared hungry on the plates of the others who themselves knew their food would become even colder now. The pizza was soggy in the middle and just not what you'd expect from a high priced restaurant.
Perfect views and such increíble views!! One of the best salads I’ve had followed by such an amazing tofu and veggie curry. Right sized portions where you got plenty of food without getting too much. Perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay at sunset.
Lovely place. Wish there was less reliance on dairy.
We got an unexpected window table. It had been a few years since I’d been there, and I’d forgotten how lovely the setting is. Food was lovely, service good.
Always a 25 minute wait even with a reservation
Pizza tasted like frozen pizza!
We are vegan and found some options on the menu, which we enjoyed. However, most items on the menu are vegetarian. The view to the marina is very open (the entire west wall over-looking the marina is mostly windows), the room decor is rustic (the was a warehouse or something like that) but tastefully enhanced with paint and furnishings (e.g., several of the tables are creatively designed seats/tables mad out of large tree trunks, and a piece of art made out of a large tree-stump), and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
For a non vegetarian the food is full of surprises good and less good. You have to discover a number of new vegetables google is very useful ! Very nice dining room and pleasant service
Perfect table to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and watch the sailboats on the bay. Excellent brunch choices were available and service was perfect.
Our server did a great job of describing our food, and was attentive to every detail. And, the food was delicious! We enjoyed everything.
Usually I’m a big fan but when I went on Sunday, 5/5, it took 10 minutes and a request to get water, let alone a server. Our server was not apologetic or very friendly. Pinnacle eggs were amazing, but the other dish we ordered was dry and pretty tasteless. So disappointed, given my prior experiences and the fact that this restaurant is not cheap.
I loved the food and the vegan wine was fantastic too. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to San Fran!
we love Greens. The food is absolutely amazing: delicious, creative, innovative, beautifully presented. We enjoyed every moment of our eating experience. We did have to wait at least 30 minutes between our soup and main course which was not ideal. The views out the window are stunning. We were very pleasantly surprised with two glasses of wine in honor of our anniversary: a total surprise; a gift of the restaurant. We are going back in June for my birthday and I left resolving to eat there much more often. It's worth the wait! And we know from years of experience that the take out food is also marvelous.
Nothing that I haven’t had at another vegetarian restaurant, and not any better for twice the cost. Also, strange did not even offer a salad for a starter or main course for dinner.
The food is superb as is the service, attentive but never pushy. And the views!
The first time I crafted a really nice review, then went looking for photos and when I returned Open Table had reverted back to the beginning. The second time, I tried to add photos and it reverted back to the beginning. So, just imagine a really nice review with amazing food photos. Maybe I'll try this again on Yelp or some app that will actually take my review and photos instead of deleting them.
Excellent food with wonderful views they where very service it was okay
Greens is the best overall Vegetarian restaurant in SF and I never hesitate recommending it to seekers of quality food and great ambience. Cheers.
