Always reliably good and the corn tortillas are made by hand daily.
Delightful meal with friends.
Consistently excellent quality food and service! Not just your average vegetarian restaurant. We really appreciate the careful pairing and combination of foods to maximize the tastes of dishes. The staff is attentive, professional and friendly. An excellent choice if you have an event or attending a show at Fort Mason.
Outstanding service, exquisite quality food, and gorgeous view.
this place is worth a visit even if you are not a vegetarian
Excellent service from our waiter!
This place was great, as per usual. Very consistent dining experience over three visits.
first course appetizers were served quickly, celery looked old and dirty with some dirt still stuck on it, main course took over an hour to arrive but was tasty, probably wouldn't go here again, this is my third time dining here
I've eaten at Greens several times over the past many years. It has not changed which is a good thing to me. The ambiance is calming - light wood, a wall of windows, soft art. The food, very good. The waiter, very nice and helpful with the terms we were unfamiliar with. As the restaurant filled up, there was the noise of many conversations but it wasn't loud enough to disturb us. I love this place.
Spectacular sunset view of the GG Bridge and the Bay
The evening we dinned at the Greens it was boiling hot outside. Inside Greens, no AC, we were basically in an Oven. Worse came to worst, we sat down for more than 20 minutes and no server stopped by. However, the patrons at the next table who came in later than us got served sooner than we did. We had to wave down a passing by server and told her the situation. She told us she wasn’t our server, but she nicely took our order. I am sorry I didn’t remember her name to give her credit she deserved. Speaking of food, we ordered cold soup, pizza and fettuccine. The former mentioned two were good. The Fettuccine was too creamy to my palate.
They made our night wonderful. The staff was excellent and the food was great.
The food and service were very good. Our waiter was a bit reserved at the beginning, but he was so knowledgable about the origins of Greens, that we quickly warmed up to him and really enjoyed talking to him. The wine list was affordable and had multiple choices. Overall, we had a great time!
We asked for a window seat and even though they thought there wouldn’t be one, they managed to find one. The view was wonderful and the ambience made it worthwhile. I loved my salad and dessert, the strawberry apricot torte: really outstanding. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted for an entree ( it was hot) so ordered a starter. It was fine. It was noisy due to someone on a first date talking very loudly next to us. The seating is close- but there isn’t all that much space. Would recommend it to others.
The food is soooo good!
Get together with out-of-town visitors
We were seated promptly. The view of the Golden Gate was fantastic. Parking was tight because of other events at Fort Mason. Service was attentive. And the food was yummy. Pricing was a bit on the high side for folks not from the city. But seemed in line with other restaurants we looked at. And, as non drinkers, we all really enjoyed the spritzers and lemonades! The only disappointment was that the online menu was not up to date and a few of the dishes we were interested in were not available. I have to say that our server handled the situation deftly!
As usual awesome on all fronts.
Very good place for lunch and the view is wonderful.
My second visit to this restaurant and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Spring rolls, chickpea soup, butternut squash curry and tofu croquettes were on my menu. Everything was fresh, beautiful and delicious.
Excellent food, desserts and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Greens is SUPERB. Have been going for years ‘ there is no better vegetarian/vegan red anywhere IMHO. The space/view is spectacular, the food fresh, creative & delectable & wait staff is super. What a fantastic spot!
Service was excellent; there were only about 5 entrees and 5-6 appetizers to begin with. Not much choice. Nice wine list, but: they have switched to considerably smaller glasses. So, ordering a glass of wine brings one a quite small glass half full, I'd estimate only about 3.5 oz. for $15! THAT IS A RIPOFF
and I find it really disappointing that the Zen folks at Green's would do such a thing. This will make me think twice about going back soon again. I had Meyer lemon fettucini for my entree. It was ok but nothing that made me sit up and take note. The corn and ricotta pancakes were excellent, full stop. The salad was quite good. It was my partner's 76th birthday and, alerted to that beforehand, they brought a nice chocolate cake for her. Nice touch. In short, a 4* meal that could have been even better. Cost $330
for four people, each having ordered an appetizer, entree and a glass or two of wine. Not inexpensive. They are pushing the cost envelope at Greens and had better be careful. We're not all in on IPO money.
Had an incredible birthday dinner here. The staff made it special. Not only great food but incredible atmosphere that makes special occasions feel special :)
Always reliably good!
Our party of 7 enjoyed having Sunday brunch at Greens. The visited started off a bit on the wrong foot, as we had a 1 pm reservation and weren't seated until 1:24 pm. Once we let our waitress know that we were on a schedule (not too tight, but we had another engagement scheduled at 3:15), she made sure to expedite our order and check in on us frequently to attend to our needs and then get us the check quickly. Also, the food was fabulous and we were thrilled to find that all but two menu items could be made vegan with simple and tasty substitutions.
The atmosphere is of course completely unique and special. And the food is as wonderful as ever, though the restaurant is sadly charging now for every little extra -- not just the biscuits that were once free at brunch, but even for a bit more than the one tiny teaspoon of sour cream on my egg dish. Truth be told, however, service is slipping -- 20 minutes to refill a glass of iced tea after two requests? Not good. And being kept waiting in the reception area despite a reservation while others arriving at me were seated at (better) tables? Hmmmm.
Fabulous take on healthy, gorgeously composed vegetarian food. This is one of our mainstay favorite restaurants, and we always look forward to our meals at Greens. Menu is creative, setting is unique, and we are never disappointed.
lovely place!! would love to suggest more of a mix of raw and cooked, i.e. salad and eggs etc on breakfast entree plates. or fruit and pastry etc
We had been to greens years ago and recalled it as being great food and views. We were not disappointed!! It was every bit as yummy and beautiful as we recalled. We also enjoyed the Sunday morning farmers market going on!! Great morning!
Had tight schedule....never got our main order of two pizzas. I am sure they gave it to the wrong table although they said a problem in the kitchen. They comped two spring rolls which we had already as starters, but the incompetence leaves me not wanting to return again.
Nothing can beat the gorgeous view and the food is still very high quality and delicious. But the space feels slightly dated and the dining room feels very sedate. While a lovely dinner, the whole experience doesn't measure up to similar more modern restaurants in San Francisco.
Never disappoints. Great location, great food, lovely servers.
We enjoy Greens. Black bean chilly was super spicy. Drinks came late.
Server forgot the bread and wine. Didn’t get the wine until after dinner. Horrible service for not being that busy
I really enjoyed the vegetarian food and good californian wine :) but I think it was a little bit too expensive. The ambiance and view were amazing !
This restaurant has the perfect location next to the water, with a stunning view over the marina towards the Golden Gate Bridge. The menu was interesting and varied enough for one vegan, two junior vegetarians (they adapted a pasta dish for the super-fussy one) and an omni. Service was great; one in our party had a birthday and her choc cake arrived with a birthday candle on top. We’re definitely coming back in future!
Had been looking forward to dining at Greens for years - I am a New Yorker who could never coordinate my trips to San Francisco and reservations- this time I did it! Well worth the wait! Food was AMAZING!! Wow!
Greens is a special occasion restaurant for us. We go there to celebrate!
Love coming here just to watch the sunset. Food better this time than before fire. Pasta dish was delicious and fresh gave beans exceptional. The curry dish was tasty but sauce to thick and rich. Less salt needed especially in curry. Perhaps if less sugar is put in curry less salt will be necessary to balance it
