One of my favorite restaurants
Great views of the marina and Golden Gate Bridge
After spending the past two weeks vacationing across California and dining at numerous vegetarian restaurants, Greens was definitely our favourite. The dining experience was exceptional - fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, a peaceful atmosphere, the list goes on. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we visit San Francisco.
We have eaten here often but were very disappointed this time. The appetizer was fine, but the main course - a pasta dish - was barely appetizer sized. And it costs $22.00. When we complained to the server, she asked if we wanted to order anything else! We had to mention this three times before the manager came over. He comp'ed us the $22.00 but didn't ask us what we wanted -which was food! That did not fill our empty stomachs. We ended us going to another local restaurant to get some food!
Window table, beautiful evening, great cocktails, delicious food, great service from Kloe.
Greens is amazing. Every meal I have eaten there has been wonderful. And the view of Golden Gate Bridge is unparalleled. We saw sailboats, seals and pelicans too.
Delicious food, beautiful views. Can’t wait to dine again.
We had a great evening and were delighted to find delicious vegetarian food, something we struggled to find during our US vacation. The situation of the restaurant is spectacular with views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the window and its conversion from former naval use has been really well done creating a great ambiance.
The only snag was that Open Table wrongly sent us an e-mail saying the restaurant had cancelled the booking, which was not true.
Even with finicky kids, we were able to find something on the menu that satisfied everyone. Being vegetarian, it is disappointing to go to a restaurant and find only one thing on the menu that we can eat. Not the case for Greens. We could eat everything on the menu! Which is a refreshing change.
The service was fantastic! Because they knew it was our anniversary, they treated us to complimentary glasses of champagne and honored our request to have a window seat. Lovely!
I reserved this based on reviews ..... i was disappointed. service was disappointing and the food non interesting... the whole things was sedate and boring.... thank god for the view
I took my dad's friend's son for Sunday brunch before checking out the Geek Craft Expo in the same building. I love Greens. We just had to wait a minute to get a window seat so my guest and I were able to take great photos of the Golden Gate bridge. We even saw sea lions swimming. The only thing was IBC Root Beer was advertised but it was Boyland's Root Beer. We ordered potatoes to share and I ordered the pupusas vegan. Very filling.
I went to this restaurant once four years ago and it was even better than I remembered. The food is great the price acceptable especially for the quality. I really recommend it especially if you like tasty food and eat veggie. They are making a really great job on both front.
Loved the dish with ricotta and spinach dumplings
Was not aware that there was egg and flour in it. Perhaps you can indicate with symbols whether meal is vegan, gluten free etc... 5stars
The pizza was marginal at best. Reason for three stars
Thanks. Have most of the cookbooks at home in Australia, and have wanted to visit for about 20 years. Really nice. Lesley was terrific and took good care of us. Keep going!
Food was fresh, delicious with breath taking view of the port!! Best vegetarian experience in San Francisco.
We had family friends in town from India who are vegetarians so Greens Restaurant was an immediate choice. The service and ambiance was awesome, warm, inviting, and helpful. The food.....I can hardly give it justice with my humble description. The food was absolutely delicious, beautiful, artistic, colorful and I’m not vegetarian. There was 7 of us so we got a few appetizers for the table and then we all had different dishes and I can say that even the world traveling Indian family was impressed and mesmerized by the selection and freshness of the courses. Don’t be scared off because it’s labeled a vegetarian restaurant because you meat eaters will be missing out on an amazing experience.
I absolutely love Greens and have never been disappointed! I had the Poblano stuffed Chile, and it was to die for. The food is always delicious and flavorful, the atmosphere at sunset is beautiful and relaxing, and the service is always great, too.
Inventive, delicious vegetarian food which is substantial and satisfying with lots of variety on the menu. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Prices seem on the high side for vegetarian food, but justified based on menu creativity preparation, presentation and ambiance/setting.
Excellent!! All the way around.
Excellent vegetarian food, always changing menu, great wine list, great service; large, light open room with great views of the harbor and bay. Soups are exceptional as are many of the appetizers. Especially great for lunch.
I generally like your food a lot, but felt the entree that had a mixture of things including crudities, olives, pita bread, squash really needs to be jazzed up. It was bland, uninteresting. Others found their food good.
We haven't been back for several years so we were looking forward to our dinner. The food was good, but not as innovative as we have come to expect
My husband used to frequent this restaurant often as he eats mostly vegetarian. The appetizers were creative and tasty, the entrees we underwhelming and lacked development in flavors and profile. We did mention it and the staff removed the two entrees that we mentioned.
The food was the highlight: relatively simple but unique dishes; very tasty, combining simple and complex flavors and textures. Window tables were a disappontment: crammed unlike the rest and too hot in the afternoon.
We were lucky enough to have a window seat, and I could have enjoyed the view all day! Kite boarders, diving seagulls, the marina..... Gorgeous! The food was very good. But on this day it played second fiddle. An errant hair in the butter was quickly replaced with butter that was “less organic. “ The French toast was superb, my soup and salad were very good, the dessert very good.
Awesome views. Great vibe. The food....extremely overpriced, not very filling, and mostly bland. Would come back for the views and an app! Great date spot if you're not hungry..
Great view of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Menu is all vegetarian, but provides good options for variety of tastes.
Though we had a reservation, we had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated.
As always, we expected the vegetarian fare to be excellent – Wild Mushroom Shepard Pie was outstanding, Potato cakes were minuscule, Pizza was mediocre.
Table service was slow, wait staff could have been more attentive.
Anytime I'm in San Francisco, I try to have a meal here. The menu is creative, and for vegetarians, this is pure joy.
Lovely setting and waiter and wine steward very helpful and knowledgeable on food and wines. Also very pleasant.
Well prepared dishes in general but can get heavy. Pizza was excellent as was salad while pasta dish had way too much pesto and olive oil.
Dishes add up and becomes very pricey. So value not there that night .
Friendly staff and very cooperative.
Food was yummy . Liked all about greens plus perfect location
Portions a bit small—smaller than they used to be.
I have been here many, many times over many years. I feel the food is not as creative or yummy as it used to be and the environment a bit more frenetic. But I would still visit from time to time.
The view, food, curated wine list, decor... there is nothing like itI’m keeping my fingers crossed for a James Beard for this place! Yes, meat eaters will love it too!
We were visiting San Francisco, where my (vegetarian) sister used to reside, and we ate at Greens on her recommendation and because I am (mostly) vegetarian, too. My sister said that Greens was her favorite restaurant and I now know why. While the atmosphere is casual, our lunches (and dessert) were excellent. It's nice to dine at a place where I know I can choose anything from the menu and be pleased with the result.
Ottimo assortimento di piatti vegetariani/vegani. Menu ridotto che aiuta nella velocità del servizio e rende facile la scelta al cliente. Vista panoramica del molo e del Golden gate. Consigliatissimo.
Nice dining experience at Greens, good quality food and a great variety of vegan dishes. Stunning views over th bay and golden bridge. The restaurant is nonetheless pricey.
great overall experience, excellent food and service, I would recommend it to friends
We enjoyed our meal and time sitting by the window watching the sunset and the otters on the dock nearby. Great atmosphere and service.
We enjoy Greens every time we’re in San Francisco. The food is amazing and the view is great.
