Greens has terrific vegetarian food, great service and is in a beautiful location. I am so happy it is still around after all these years.
Cool place, but noisy. Great view if daylight.
We waited over 45 minutes to get our main course because they were busy.
Excellent food and service, and the ambiance was wonderful, but everyone agreed that the portions were too small. All three of us went away hungry. The cappuccino needed some work. Very small, and wasn’t hot—just warm.
Excellent vegetarian food. Industrial diner experience. Loud, cold and not very romantic. Many different people helping you. Not the food "experience" we were hoping for.
A welcoming restaurant that serves seasonal dishes using the best ingredients.
I love Greens! It's always a treat to go there! Especially on a beautiful day! The food was FAB!!! Especially the rolls. Our Salad was spectacular. So fresh! I love that everything is so fresh and local. The service was wonderful too!
We love this place: Great food, friendly and knowledgeable servers, wonderful venue. We always make it a date night (lots of other couples there!).
We've been going to Greens a few times a year for a couple of decades now. Love the variety of options and almost always delicious. Service is always attentive and courteous. Brunch is a must - if nothing else but to sample the delicious scones.
Great food, as usual. Some new menu items for Brunch. They were tasty! Service was great, as usual.
I had not been to Greens for a number of years and I’m sad to say that it is a mere shadow of its former self. The cocktails were great but the food was mediocre at best. My broccoli pizza was mostly inedible. The appetizers were skimpy and boring. Service was extraordinarily slow. Someone needs to step in and rescue this lovely, classic San Francisco locale.
We all loved it. They were amazing with food intolerances and allergies. Everything was delicious
Simply Superb as usual! Thank you Greens!
Fantastic birthday celebration for my sweetheart
We hadn't been to Greens in years since the two times before (5+ years ago) the food was barely edible. Saturday night it was excellent--all dishes eaten by vegans, vegetarians and omnivores were top notch. And we had asked for a quiet table for the 5 of us and had a cute little area quite quiet with a window. Service wasn't top notch, good given table assistants stepping in for server, but we all felt a little ignored even though it was almost a $400 ticket before tip. Regardless, we had a great evening before BATS and will go back next show or event at Ft. Mason. Maybe even before heading further into the City for events.
Parking was a BIG hassle on Saturday for lunch- but Greens staff was friendly and kept our reservation intact for another 40 minutes it took us to find a spot.
Food was very flavorful.
Apple crisp dessert was a disappointment- we were expecting it to be warm but it was completely cold! Our server also forgot the salad we ordered until we reminded him- so we ate the salad after the main course!
But we still love Greens and will return for more!
Great atmosphere but sadly food always sounds better than it tastes. Not bad but not outstanding. I have eaten here many times with same feeling.
The ambience is great. However, they have a lot of opportunity to improve how their food tastes
This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant.y Uber was running late so I called and spoke to the hostel and let her know we would be about 20 minutes late. She said no problem and thanked me for calling. When we got to the restaurant it was pretty busy and we were sat right away. Our server from the get go was terrible. She had no personality, didn’t explain the menu to us or anythjng. It took FOREVER to get our first round of drinks and even longer to get our wine with dinner. I orders the pea soup and stir fry. The pea soup was good after I added my own seasoning to it. My main was very tasty, the stir fry was good but nothing special. My husband ordered a salad and the porcini noodles. His main entree was absolutely disgusting. I told him to return it but he would not let me. It was the worst pasta dish I have ever tasted! The carrots were delicious. After dinner we ordered the pear sorbet and the hot apple crumble with coconut sorbet. We should have just had wine and dessert. The reviews for this restaurant didn’t do it justice. What a disappointing evening. I always try and pick new places that are rated high. This restaurant is not with waisting the Uber, calories or time. Terrible service, ok food, delicious wine, great ambiance
I've eaten at Greens since the late 1980's, and always found it excellent. My recent meal was a big disappointment and I won't be going back. Appetizers were good but on the bland side. We ordered the curry and the pasta entrees. The seasonings and execution were poorly developed and not the output of a professional chef. If someone told me their teenager was interested in cooking and had made the meal I would have believed them. Ambiance was bland and a bit on the subdued side - a downer after sunset when the views disappear. Quiet live music would be a vast improvement in the space's atmosphere. It would also support local musicians
- and Greens can afford it.
Good vegetarian food. Interior hasn't changed in 20 years or more and needs to be refreshed. Great location with plenty of parking.
Highly recommend. Great food and cocktails....but it is a splurge!
Great looking space, nice staff and delicious food. Would have loved it bit more for the money.
I had been here numerous times for dinner and lunch but this was the first for brunch and it was absolutely stellar. Imaginative and delicious cuisine done the Greens way!
As usual the very BEST!
The reputation for the food is no longer justified. We are vegans and for a vegetarian restaurant you would expect some options. But there were only substitutions. The apple crisp was so sweet that we had a stomach ache the rest of the afternoon. The staff was helpful and friendly and gave us a window seat for our birthday party which saved the day.
Outstanding! The loving care of the kitchen and dining room staff is evident in each moment of the meal.
Top notch all around! Green’s is always good but was at the top of their game Saturday. We will bring special friends again.
Thank you so much for your support for our photo shooting. All of our members had a great time at Greens Restaurant and enjoyed delicious and sophisticated meals. I believe that the coverage must be very attractive for Japanese readers!
Birthday dinner was a surprise and she enjoyed it ! She was a first time visitor and the food was fantastic - usually vegetarian is not my first choice, this place is amazing on their food preparation. They provide a broad variety of foods to choose from using amazing local produce / seasonal vegetables.
It will become a regular stop for me when I travel in San Francisco.
The server was horrible. The bus boy/bar back was more attentive than she will ever be. I've been dining at Greens for decades. This will not stop me from returning to your restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Will be back again, hopefully with a window seat.
Exceptional service - we had the most gracious, capable and knowledgeable server ever. She was exceptional!!
And a lovely cosy table at the back by the windows so we could see the sunset, the boats and then the darkening twilight skies.
Great food and service
As usual the food was outstanding but the service is noticeably declining. The last two times we have dined at Greens we have been unhappy with the service. Our visit on Monday started out well with the outstanding griddle cake appetizer. But we felt rushed to order our food and they cleared the plates too quickly. Part of the charm of Greens is to linger and savor the food. This was a Monday night! The servers brought the wrong order for me and my wife had the dish with polenta which was missing the spinach! So while waiting for my order they left my wife's dinner to get cold on the table. So when she asked about the spinach they took the plate to the kitchen and returned the same plate with the spinach added. (Not a fresh dinner with the correct ingredients). Both were fantastic dishes but not a nice experience. The coffee we had after dinner was old and unpalatable. I expect better service than what we experienced.
This is our third time visiting Greens for an anniversary and it does not fail to deliver. Scrumptious food beautifully prepared and artfully plated.
VERY POOR SELECTION ON THE MENU. WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A BETTER CHOICE OF SALADS WITH MORE PROTEIN OTHER THAN EGGS. I HAVE TO SAY, I WAS DISAPPOINTED, AS I HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT GREENS. I PROBABLY WON'T GO BACK.
Some of the very best food you can come across in San Francisco. Thank you Greens.
The waiter was so knowledgeable about what items could be made GF & DF and his recommendations were excellent. The support staff was great and the food and cocktails were excellent!! Ive found my new favorite restaurant!!
We hadn’t been to Greens in several years and were looking forward to an outstanding experience but it was just so-so. The best dish was the white bean hummus. Everything else seemed like dishes we could have made in our own kitchen without too much fuss. And the pasta dish was inferior to what we normally cook. (And we are average cooks!). The ingredients seemed not to be of the best quality. Service was spotty. Long waits between courses and several items that we ordered never arrived.
