One of the most enjoyable Sunday brunch spots available
PERFECT FOR A BUSINESS OR PERSONAL LUNCH WHERE QUIET, BEAUTIFUL VENUE AND EXCELLENT SERVICE ARE APPRECIATED.
Quite a fancy venue! Best sourdough bread I've ever had!
Could not imagine a better place for a special get-together in the nation's capital.
This was my second visit to The Greenhouse. The room is lovely. But the service was poor (very slow, inattentive) and the food was mixed. The tomato salad was delicious, but my Mediterranean platter was brought as a soup bowl of hummus with a tiny dollop of baba ghanoush and a couple of olives. It wasn't a "platter" in any sense it wasn't what I was served three weeks earlier when I ordered the same thing. Yet the waiter insisted the bowl of hummus is the same "platter" they have always served.
What a spot to dazzle some out-of-town guests for brunch. Gorgeous dining room, exquisite service — they even provided pedestals for the ladies' handbags! Classic Washington at its best.
Jefferson hotel is genuine definition of the 5-style hotel. This historic hotel has the most elegant and beautiful decor. The restaurant located in the entry way simulates a "court house" vibe with iron gate. Their service is outstanding. They even have a small stool for lady's bag (a bonus). I would highly recommend this place for a date, mother-daugther afternoon tea, or out of town guests. Food is great but it is pricey. However, just for the ambiance, I would definitely come back
Took my daughter and friend for special lunch. Elegant, historic-feeling setting. Delicious food. Cozy out of the way eating alcoves. Great service. Fun for brunch with yummy cocktails. Highly recommend!
The food, service and ambiance were excellent down to the most ellegant of details, a little upholstered stool for my wife hand bag! Lovely brunch and a highlight of our visit to DC.
Staying in hotel so made sense to have breakfast here - had the obligatory lobster omelette, interesting but expensive.
Poor service, waiter tried to take a half eaten away from the table.
We had a wonderful breakfast. The lobster eggs Benedict was delightful.
Was a pleasant experience!
We are all delighted by the ambiance plus great service and delicious food!
Yes would recommend and can't wait to
Go back!
What a lovely brunch spot-- very elegant to take out of town guests
Absolutely beautiful place. It is located within the Jefferson Hotel, which is brimming with history itself. The hostess for the day/HR manager was incredibly polite, friendly, and hospitable. The concierge was eager to share his knowledge, though we were not even staying at the hotel. Fantastic place. Dress well!
Lovely light green mistroni - almost japanese in simplicity & delicacy. Friendly attentive staff. Perfect for an intimate lunch under the glass skyliggt.
My date and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Greenhouse Jefferson Hotel for lunch.
Recently visited the Greenhouse for my sister's birthday lunch. It was perfect. The room is beautiful. The service was excellent. The menu was great with several items that were perfect for a ladies's luncheon. I didn't want a typical DC Power Lunch and Greenhouse did its job well.
Amazing brunch! I've gone back 3x since I first tried it.
Food was ok, pastries a bit stale. Location is fancy and impressive. Get the lemon ricotta pancakes for brunch.
Wonderfully quiet, elegant and beautiful restaurant. The food was delicious. Valey parking at lunch helps!
It was my last day with DC with my boyfriend and we wanted something nice for our last meal there. It was delicious! Make sure to order something made by the chefs. So good! And so nice inside! Loved it.
This beautiful space was perfect for a women's outing on a Sunday afternoon. The Jefferson is a very impressive hotel with the charm and poise of a true luxury hotel and The Greenhouse does a great job of channeling that into a light, open, and airy venue. We very much enjoyed the great service and glamorous atmosphere but the prices were very high and the noise level (with only one other party in the room) made it difficult for my friend and I to hear each other. Besides that, it was a lovely experience and I look forward to bringing friends there in the future.
I absolutely love the venue! The food and service are always fantastic!
the servers were the worse! they feel theybare royalty and they are being bothered! we were visiting and walking around, hence not dressed for the Oscars, and it was97 degrees outside. Regardless, we were paying for the food and yet we were treated like beggers.
Had a lovely breakfast with my husband. Afterwards we made use of hotel lounge for a bit of reading. Will definitely visit again and hopefully stay at this gorgeous hotel. Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food.
We had breakfast here for a special occasion. It was a lovely setting with delicious food and impeccable service. The dining room is beautifully appointed and the wait staff is professional and attentive without hovering. The lemon ricotta pancakes and the lobster eggs benedict were amazing.
My only reason for a four-star rating rather than five was our table. We had a reservation. However, apparently the best tables are "reserved" for people who have asked for those specific tables. We did not know that. When we arrived we asked for several tables and were told those were already reserved. At least two or three or those tables, however, remained unused throughout our time there. It was just irritating.
Both the brunch and the setting were elegant. And the valet parking for only $10 is a major plus given that, on a Sunday, all the neighborhood parking garages appear to be closed or close early. We'll be back soon again.
The Jefferson is a small, classic hotel. The Greenhouse is perfect for a delicious, classy breakfast or brunch -- perfectly prepared food, impeccable service.
I had a business lunch here and found every aspect of the experience great. The food was very good, the service was attentive but not intrusive and the atmosphere was very attractive. All in all an excellent experience.
The Greenhouse is beautiful and the service excellent. Great place for business lunches where you want to hear the conversation. Servers are discreet and don't hurry you out the door if they see you're still talking.
The service and atmosphere at the Greenhouse are beyond wonderful. And the food is first rate, too. I go there whenever I can.
Gorgeous hotel and dining area, excellent service. I went for Mother's Day (taking my mom and sister) and she really felt special and appreciated. The food was quite good and reasonable portions, although given a prix fixe menu we could have skipped the desert items (nothing special). Also drinks were not included in the $100 pp price for brunch, which feels a little weak from a value perspective. Honestly how much are mimosas? Should've been included in the base price. Overall I spent $375 for 3 people for brunch - great service and a nice experience, but not so amazing that I'll become a regular. But it's worth it for special occasions.
We chose this restaurant as one of our friends was leaving our group. It was lovely, elegant and the food was fabulous. A true treat.
The Greenhouse at the Jefferson is the perfect place for a cute luncheon with friends, a smart destination for a business meal, as well as ideal for a romantic date with your special someone. Not only is the location easy to reach from all over DC, it's ideal if you work downtown. The service has always been impeccable from the moment I've walked through the doors. Most importantly the food is continuously fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Greenhouse at the Jefferson and know I will be dining there often in the future..
I have been to the Greenhouse for business lunches and I have never been disappointed. The service is always attentive without being pushy, the food is always excellent and the noise level is low enough to be able to have a business conversation without shouting. Strongly recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful and unique place, good food, great service. Love the floral arrangements there and throughout the hotel.
Food was excellent. After bringing our food the waiter never checked on us again or refilled our beverages.
The service was beyond reproach, however, the meal was not that impressive. The bacon was served in a couple of broken pieces and the French toast had too much ricotta cheese on it. When a meal is simple (French Toast and Bacon), it is easy to be critical, a more complex dish would probably receive less scrutiny.
The hotel is immaculate boutique hotel and the brunch was fantastic. The salmon tartare and coffee was amazing. Eggs Benedict for my wife was great and my steak and eggs was pretty good. The steak was well cooked but a bit too much fat. The ambiance is terrific and the servers were attentive and quite pleasant. Highly recommend it
The staff here are consistently a cut above anywhere else. Discrete, attentive and classy.
