Greenhouse at the Jefferson Hotel Washington DC
Father’s Day celebration and it was terrific!
We made reservations for the afternoon tea. When we arrived, we were informed that the restaurant at the Jefferson Hotel has discontinued the afternoon tea. We settled for a nice brunch but would have much preferred the afternoon tea or a notice before we arrived.
I'm tempted not to rave about this because I want to be sure to get a table the next time I want to go. But the food and service are terrific and it is a great place to have a serious business conversation.
The Greenhouse staff is accommodating, the food is delicious and the setting is lovely.
Wonderful food, service, atmosphere. A special treat!
Food was absolutely delightful and delicious. The ambiance was so beautiful and elegant. Service was kind and prompt. Had a lovely time with my mom for Sunday brunch in DC.
Beautiful setting with wonderful brunch and great service!
It was a nice experience. The ambiance was amazing.
The ambience, as always, was great; such a pretty place. The food, however, was not worth the price. I ordered the quiche. The piece I was served was very average in taste, and a very small portion for the price of around $20. One expects more from Greenhouse.
I absolutely loved this place. Every vacation we try to find a fancy restaurant to dine once during the vacation. This spot was beautiful and the service was phenomenal. Not to mention the food was delicious. I would recommend this to anyone going to Washington DC. Although if you don’t have a vehicle and you are using the metro- it is quite a walk.
Delicious! Fresh and tasty menu selections. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with bacon. The coffee was excellent too. The cafe's atmosphere was very charming as well as romantic. Superb service from doormen, host and waIt staff.
Spent the week in DC with a friend & enjoyed a nice brunch here. One of the best experiences I’ve had. Food was amazing, service was very polite, accommodating, & respectful. The ambiance was incredible as well. Will definitely be back for a meal next time I’m in DC.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the food, I felt a bit insulted when the waiter brought the check and commented about not wanting to be there all day; implying that I hurry up and pay.
An anniversary brunch in beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately, first champagne choice was not available but nice substitute provided. Eggs Benedict and French Toast were perfect choices.
Definitely, a special morning meal!
Our experience at the Greenhouse Jefferson Hotel was amazing. The service was exceptional, the food delicious and the atmosphere was lovely! We will certainly return to the Greenhouse. The reception staff took photos of us to share with our family back home.
A few girlfriends joined me for an impromptu bachelorette brunch and everyone was so impressed. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The space is beautiful and so elegant. Would definitely come back.
I recently celebrated my mother’s 92nd birthday at The Greenhouse with 6 guests. Two were my 5 year old grandchildren. The staff was attentive and went out of their way to make sure we experienced a glorious brunch. The menu was varied with delicious choices for all of us and everything we chose was delicious!
Starting with aperitifs consisting of Bellinis and Mimosas, I had the Lobster Eggs Benedict which were absolutely scrumptious. I would highly recommend the brunch at the Jefferson Hotel and will definitely return!!!
Great brunch in DC!
Bewildering. We had a special group for Easter lunch including seniors and an older, disabled friend. The table was booked for 2pm. The host kept explaining to us that the previous diners were taking longer than expected. We were eventually seated at 2.45. We and our senior friends had been left to wait in the hotel lobby for 45 minutes! The restaurant staff were apologetic and the manager gave a reduction and free drinks - for which we were very grateful. But we remain astonished that a restaurant of this caliber would make such a hash of a reservation.
Service was inattentive. The setting is lovely.
Beautiful room setting. I savored, along with the food, the attention to every detail. The service is the BEST you will find anywhere today. Fellow diners were dressed for the occasion and some were not-eclectic mix. The food was unusual, delicious and beautiful. If I were to make one change it would be to have a little less quantity and portion and less cost. It was pricey for our family. Having sad that it was a special event that we will enjoy for a long time.
Had brunch here and it was lovely. The ambience was wonderful and the servers were very kind. Everyone we encountered was very helpful.
Excellent food and service. Would recommend the brunch and will go again myself.
Beautiful breakfast with wonderful service in a gorgeous bright setting.
Wish the brunch options could be a more selective group choice.
It was my birthday, and I was delighted with the experience! The ambiance, service and food were excellent.
Couldn’t be more perfect! Food, ambiance, service.
Very nice and relaxing place to have breakfast. Lovely setting, staff very courteous, and attentive and we didn't feel rushed at all. I will come back!
I went to the Greenhouse for the first time after many years and was delighted with the service and the food. It was the perfect place for a quiet business breakfast -- and one I will return to!
Wonderful brunch in delightful setting and attentive staff.
Can't wait to go back.
Only criticism is that the chicken and waffles had a puddle of grease at the bottom of the plate. Which in turn caused the waffle to be a tad soggy.
Absolutely beautiful brunch spot! The service was excellent, the food was out of this world, and the ambiance/decor was perfection. Totally would return.
Service staff could be friendlier.
Beautiful setting. Great service and delicious food. A real treat
Exceptional food at a lower brunch price than I expected, and excellent service to boot. In addition, I had to call afterward about a small logistical question and the staff handled it quickly. Great work all around!
We dropped in for a last minute reservation when a different place we tried for brunch was just not happening, on a Sunday morning. The Greenhouse ambience is lovely, it's very peaceful, we had a little corner that was made into a sort of grotto, very private but not isolated. For a restaurant weekend brunch menu, the options are decently tasty. The coffee is very good. We split the croque madame and the stuffed French toast. Both were very good - the croque came with a small tasty salad, and was very well made (do definitely recommend it with the egg on top). The French toast had a lovely blueberry compote. The service is very attentive. I think I've stayed here some time ago (we were in an Airbnb this weekend). I usually do not eat at hotel restaurants, but at least for brunch I think this is a good one, and if you want a place to talk and take your time with someone, the food and service are great, and it's a lot more relaxed and serene than most hot brunch spots.
We had a fine lunch. Service was not as attentive as I have come to expect from previous meals at the Greenhouse.
We had an utterly delightful lunch in the Greenhouse. Our table for two was intimate, set against a charming mural. It was quiet and we were able to talk for hours. There was unobtrusive music, but I didn't notice it until a pause in the conversation. The food was delicious. Altogether a soothing oasis of calm civility and elegance.
The staff, food, and atmosphere were all at the highest quality that one would expected from the Jefferson Hotel. They make dining with friends an enjoyable experience and the valet parking option was a life saver in D.C. Five out of five stars, would dine there again.
