Not flashy or hip, fifty years old, a bit of a drive from town, but still one of Boulder's best restaurants. A great wine list, excellent service, and extremely good food from start to finish. A wonderful dining experience.

Rustic elegance. Food artfully and creatively prepared and served in an atmosphere of regal comfort looking out at trees.

The menu for first bite was well thought out with excellent prepared food with very good
wine pairings. The wait staff was helpful and attentive. This restaurant still lives up to its great reputation of the past 50 years.

When we got there the greeting was mediocre for us and somewhat enthusiastic for the large party behind us. They also got seated before us and there was a constant comment from the hostess who also served us saying "how was first bite?" We ordered off the menu eventhough there was a cheaper first bite option and her saying that was not appropriate. Also, the person clearing plates was not well trained. He kept our appetizer forks that were used, but replaced the small plates so we asked for new forks. The big bonus was our waiter, Jet and the person pouring water. This place used to be very buttoned up, but things have deteriorated. The food however was excellent!

Atmosphere very good. Manager very attentive. Ceasar salad below average--could not taste dressing or cheese. Nice bottle of wine at a good price. Bolognese very good, as was dessert.
We went for First Bites so value was good.

Sunday brunch to celebrate my husband's and my birthdays. We go for our anniversary too, and the food is always great. My only complaint is that the bacon is not crispy. Not that much of a problem, overall. Everything else is wonderful, and the service is excellent.

Increase the communication between the servers and the kitchen (ie do not start the entrees until the table is at least half way through the salad/appetizers)...the main entree seemed to be put into in the warmer WAY too long before the appetizer course was finished.

Nice, quiet dining room, although the tables that were present seemed to be seated along the garden window despite plenty of room to be spaced apart in the entire dining room.

The Greenbriar is a special place. However, this time, it felt that most of the food items had sat around on their warmers quite awhile (not especially fresh) and the servers and waitstaff were not very friendly and welcoming.

We told the waiter it was our first time there. He put us in a little room when there were much nicer tables available. The buffet was very expensive, but the food wasn't great. Overall it was disappointing. I don't think we will go back.

Service was impeccable. Food was excellent. Oysters were too large but that was my fault
for not enquiring as to size when ordered. Considering the few people that were in there
for dinner, the service was slow between dishes but still excellent. We will return!

The location was great, but the food was not what I expect from a buffet brunch priced at $40 per person. Maybe it was because we showed up after noon, but that's no excuse. Chafing dishes were nearly empty, food was not being replenished fast enough, the porter house was salty and frankly, the whole meal was not worth it. I don't think I'll ever go there again for Sunday brunch. Maybe the food is better during dinner service.

This Sunday brunch buffet is a joke. I was reluctant to dine here after reading some negative reviews, but decided to try it out. What a mistake! I arrived for a noon reservation to find the buffet already missing several items. What dishes were available were not good. The oysters on the half shell were dry and warm, the "prime rib" was a tough a stringy cut of beef that I wouldn't give my dog. They were out of the Eggs Benedict for the first 45 minutes I was there. I inquired about them three times. When some finally came out they were disgusting: hard boiled eggs with congealed "hollandaise sauce". This set me back over $50. Save your money and go to any of a myriad of good local diners where the food is of good quality and freshly prepared

The Greenbriar Inn was a very elegant restaurant. The atmosphere and the food were great. Our server was a little on the stuffy side. She was just not very welcoming. She did her job and did it well but conveyed it was just that...a job. We definitely will be back to try the Greenbriar Inn again. Maybe for their Sunday Brunch. We hear it 's the best.

The food that we were able to get was very good but everything was considerably understocked. Several entrees in the buffet were empty, the "unlimited" shrimp and oysters were never restocked. The rolls were cold and hard. At $50/person, I would expect plenty of food available. Wanted to love it but was definitely disappointed.

We have been going to greenbriar for 13 years on wedding anniversary and had wedding reception there have always had excellent meals without exception. This year was the worst we have ever had. The food had poor presentation food not cooked properly. Had to send back wine because they substituted different wine for what we ordered. Will never go there again. Extremely disappointed in the restaurant!!

Our visit was disappointing with the exception of service. Shrimp cocktail was warm and needed fewer flowers, more cocktail sauce and lemon. Caprese not much flavor. Steak was tough.
Husband's pork chop just ok. Strawberry shortcake
disappointing - berries seemed frozen - needed more whipped cream. Decor old. Loud outside - traffic. Would not return. Much
better choices for the price.

Halibut was bland and not worth the price paid (4 people). Service was very slow. Wedding reception upstairs resulted in dancing/feet pounding throughout the meal. The prepared-by-table caesar salad, which used to be great, was below average. Croutons were burned.

Used to be one of our favorite places. Crossing off the list relative to value received.

Extremely disappointed in our experience! Menu was beef heavy & small. Steak was over cooked & not very good quality, fries were soggy & very over salted. Salad was OK but bread basket was stale & only one roll for two of us. Wine by glass not good. Service was lacking. Server did not know menu to answer questions, no fresh pepper offered for salad & server not to be found, wine not served with meal & had to ask manager to bring as again server disappeared & never came to check on satisfaction.
Sad one of our favorite places from past 40 years has fallen so low!

It was our anniversary, we were in a sweetheart booth, which was nice, except we were the only ones in the dining room. Every other guest was seated outside. We felt like we were in the kitchen as the staff was hollering back and forth across the dining room. Our waiter was busy with the tables outside and we felt that we were just an added table and kind of a burden for him to tend to.

Happy Again! The Greenbriar Inn food is back to it's former high standards of food quality and proparation!! The service is still stellar and the selection of food at brunch is outstanding! Improvements in the parking area are appreciated although the local bicyclists can still be a pain to deal with on the weekends. But I am always happy to dine at the Greenbriar Inn!

Outstanding dining experience for our anniversary. I had never had Beef Wellington before and I may never again at any other place, as this was truly outstanding and I don't want to be disappointed in the future. The Bearnaise sauce was really good, but unnecessary as far as I'm concerned. They left it in a pitcher for me to apply as desired. Steak Frites was also good, but not as good as mine :-) The vegetables accompanying the meal were fresh and delicious. Had the cheese and charcuterie plate as an appetizer (took about half home in a box), but apart from the chorizo we could have passed on the meats, the cheeses were awesome. The unbelievably great flambeed peach cardinale for dessert. Martini, awesome cab with the beef, Sambuca for me, port for her, and coffee. Just broke $200 on the bill, so for this kind of fare I'd say a good deal. Plan to be back to check out their bar and patio menu, saw they had a couple good craft beers on tap. Definitely recommend.
