Green Valley Grill Ratings and Reviews
Pleasant surprise! Picked this restaurant based on a quick internet search. We were not disappointed. From start to finish we enjoyed everything about our dining experience. The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, and just the right amount. We will go back there on our next trip to Greensboro.
My date and I had a wonderful time Friday night. We both ate the parmesan crusted chicken with green beans accompanied by the Riesling. It was lovely. Our server was very patient and invested. She was attentive, but not to the point of being intrusive into our evening. The interior design of the building was very welcoming and made each booth feel homey. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting one-on-one time with their special someone.
Our first visit to Green Valley Grill so we were excited. The cuisine was delicious, especially the salmon. The ambiance was upbeat, with happy crowd. We did think the music caused a sense of needing to rush so the next seating could occur and while our server was excellent, friendly and efficient...it did seem the staff was rushed and quick to take our plates away. We made it clear that we were not in a rush. By the time our desert and after dinner drinks arrived things settled down and seemed calmer. We would definitely go back and overall we enjoyed ourselves and felt the food was well-prepared and delicious.
Very enjoyable lunch for my mother’s 87th birthday with some of her friends. Sandra, our server was extremely patient, pleasant and kind. Our meals were good, the service was prompt and the atmosphere was nice. Thank you for helping to make it a special day for my Mom.
Chris was a great waiter! He was extremely patient with wine selection and then my entree was not hot when it arrived and without hesitation he took it back to warm it up. The manager was at our table within a few minutes, everything was taken care of, and I received a warm and tasty entree. I love the attention to service at GVG!!!
We enjoyed the setting and close proximity to the O’Henry Hotel where we were staying. However, the chef’s special was a twice smoked New York Strip which lacked tenderness greatly. Very tough. My wife and I ordered the same item. The tuna appetizer and accompanying sides were tasty and the choice of bar drinks included a mixture of specialty drinks and wine, which were also enjoyable. The notable disappointment was the main course meat choice. We would definitely return to the restaurant, but would look for menu items other than the beef. As well, price seemed to slightly outweigh quality in this experience. Overall, enjoyable.
Started at the bar, which was crowded. Manager ushered us to a table and directed wait staff to us immediately. Great hand crafted cocktails. Moved to our table for the meal and enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere in the spacious dining area. Entrees were enjoyable and definitely foody worthy with the selections. A bit pricey for me but I am fine with a good burger and fries. Definitely a nice place for special occasions and to enjoy the environment.
Having dinner with a colleague, and our spouses, to discuss up coming work. The service was attentive and not pushy. She was knowledgeable and , when asked, would share her opinion (always appreciated). The food was up to GVG’s usual standard which is high! Great evening...we’ll be back!
The salad was drenched with vinaigrette dressing. The chicken was fair, but there was a lot of filler of chic peas which overwhelmed the plate. My wine , which was a sparkling wine, was flat and I had to ask for a new glass. It was not the best experience. However, the atmosphere is very romantic and would be a good place for date night. I would give it another try just to see if maybe it was an off night.
Went here on a date night with my husband. Food was very good. I had filet which was cooked just right. He had the salmon which was delicious, with maybe the best polenta I've ever eaten. (I don't normally like polenta, this was good.) Be sure to leave room for their fabulous desserts.
Service was attentive but not overbearing. Nice.
MY TIP: When ordering a house salad get the gorgonzola dressing. It's served with chopped pecans on top. Absolutely delicious.
always love this restaurant, although this time the service felt very rushed -- food delivered while we were enjoying other courses....this has never happened before -- and it was on a week night and the restaurant was not crowded....hope this is a one-time occurrence
All around great experience from the warm greeting upon arrival to the delicious dessert at the end of the meal. My friends and I stayed for more than two hours and never felt rushed. Great food, great service. It was definitely worth the thirty mile drive I made to get there. I will be returning in the near future. I loved the salmon and polenta entree!
One suggestion. Your special occasion only mentions birthday or anniversary. Our occasion was to celebrate a pending wedding. You might leave room for additional reasons making the occasion special. You brought the pair a delicious slice of chocolate cake. I was impressed that close friends were sitting at two tables nearby. We all four were very happy with the food. We could converse with no problem in our booth for four. My guests had never eaten with you before and they were very happy with all aspects of the occasion. Thank you.
We attended the Green Valley Grill for a 30 plus year anniversary and our daughter 30th birthday celebration and the evening was amazing. From start to finish, the staff and our amazing waitress did everything possible to make our evening special including accommodating amazingly adorable 16-month-old grandson.
The food was delicious and they were so nice to give us the most amazing deserts to honor our very special occasion. We will use Green Valley Grill Time and Time Again.
Thank you for making our evening so special!!!!
We enjoyed our meal, in spite of several food problems, one of which was that the tomato tart was too oily and the Portuguese custard had a much too thick crust. The manager was very sympathetic and we received certificates for later. Maybe a shorter menu, but with more salads, at least at lunch. I'll definitely go back and try some other things. Lovely room with high ceiling, huge windows and lots of light. It was blessedly not noisy, esp. good for people with limited hearing, or at least that was true during a late lunch. So many restaurants deliberately have sound reflective surfaces so they sound "busy" and "fun," but that means a lot of people just can't go if they want a conversation. Service was great.
