Green Street Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Overall it is an ripped off experience for their VALENTINE day. They didn't offer their regular menu instead of forcing you to have their prefix menu which were expensive, subpar food..
The best thing is they would squeeze your table of just few inches away with each other, so no privacy and you can image what will be your experience of trying to get a date with your loved on in this special occassion.. Me and my hubby just listened to all conversation of the couple that were sitting next to us so it ended up me and my hubby just didn't even talk to each other during the dinning there.. that was so bad...
A friendly welcome started the eve off right, and every interaction with our server was spot on, friendly and accomodating, quite impressive. The food was delicious. We started with Brusselsprouts and shrimp, i had the gnocchi entree, wow, and reasonably priced. Definitely would return!
Every time we visit Pasadena, we search out good restaurants. We read the reviews for Green Street Tavern, which were very positive, and we were not disappointed. The menu was varied, and I enjoyed the lamb and couscous. It was clearly a from-scratch menu! We would definitely visit again.
We ordered from the Dine LA 2018 menu. Everybody enjoyed their first courses (beet salad, kale salad, grilled cabbage apple salad, and soup of the day). I highly recommend the G.S.T. Burger with truffle fries; it was a hit for the 3 of us that ordered it. The service was very good - genuinely friendly and attentive!
I feel bad for the servers working there because they seemed understaffed even though admittedly it was a Tuesday night. Servers were responsible for seating guests, taking orders, bartending, serving food, and bussing tables.
I ordered the short ribs and unfortunately they were not tender at all. The meat was very tough and chewy- definitely not worth the money. Luckily the wild boar meatloaf was good.
Since this was my first visit, I'm not sure if this was an off night but would be hesitant to return, especially given the variety of other restaurants in the area.
Everything was fine. But had a big problem. I ordered the half chicken dish. I ate some and took the rest home. The next day when I went to eat it, I noticed it was very bloody in the center which is as dangerous as it gets. A place like this should know better. The food leaving this or any kitchen should never send out under cooked chicken.....ever!!!
Wonderful food and exceptional service! The portions were quite large for the price and my sister and I were sharing dishes so it was perfect. The Brussel Sprouts were extremely flavorful as was the lamb tagine. All of our servers were very quick even though it was a busy night in the restaurant.
This was a last minute reservation that was accepted on open table for New Years Eve as we arrived for Rose Parade. The MOLE with the salmon was out of this world. I was so happy that it was calm and nice and fun for the evening without a 5 course pri fix. Will return when we go back to Pasadena
My husband and I went to the restaurant on Christmas Eve. It was our first time there even though we do fine out regularly. The servers were friendly but a bit tooo exuberant and evusive! My husband had the steak which he said was good. I had the burger which the server raged about...I found it to be marginal with a dry bun! Because the tables are so close together, it was crowded also, the noise level was WAY over a tolerable celibel...in fact, it was sooo noisy we changed our mind on having dessert and just left.
Service was great. However there was a large party of obnoxious women what were taking photos with a professional photographer and the very bright flash kept going off every 10 seconds so that was incredibly annoying. A waitress said something to them so props to the wait staff for trying to keep that under control. They kept doing it anyway but I appreciate the effort from the restaurant.
Great ambience, quiet and romantic. Food was okay, gnocchi was superb but lamb was overcooked and tough. Took a while for food to come out. Benches are soft/comfortable but not firm enough to match the chairs so you end up significantly lower than the person you are sitting across from-- I had to fold up my jacket to sit on it. I am undecided about returning. Ambience is the best feature.
The food was excellent . We arrived early at 6 pm and the noise level was perfect. As the restaurant filled up , the noise level became unbearable. It is a small room and during high occupancy , I guess not the best place for a conversation. Staff was wonderful , service was great.
We went for brunch and no one was there. The brunch menu was actually quite tasty and well rounded. Definitely a romantic dinner place (which I've gone and it's lovely!). Took a group and it worked out well. The music was just oddly loud and didn't really fit the ambiance of the setting.
Had been here twice before. Once in the large dining room and twice in the front, more intimate dining. The large dining room is great for groups and is noisier. The front, smaller is good for couples and groups of four. Creative menu. Loved the Wild Boar meatloaf. Simply delicious. Bread pudding is a must.
Everyone really enjoyed lunch at Green Street Tavern. The service was attentive and a vegetarian, a total meat eater and a fish lover all found something tasty. I really liked the atmosphere. Small almost modern clubby with a bar. Thank you Dine LA for letting us try a new place that is now one of our favorites in Old Town.
