Dianne salad is a must!!! We were a party of 8 and everyone ordered something different. Appetizers were yummy!!! Albondigas soup was delicious!
Came Father’s Day afternoon so I think everyone was exhausted. Waitress was good. My dad had to sent back coffee more than once to get it hot. Not very vegan-friendly. I ordered a Portobello burger without cheese that then came with a dairy aioli that wasn’t listed on the menu. I didn’t order Quinoa because it had both the aioli and cheese - but got the spread anyway. My parents thought the Monte Carlo sandwich was just okay. My mom and I ordered different lemonades but got the same.
3/8 dishes not hot when served
This is my first time to try Green Street Restaurant and I was happy with my 1st try. Definitely would come back again to try either Lunch or Dinner menu. It was a bit slow in the service arena but I would think it was because it was a busy Father's Day occasion.
For our coffee order had to ask for each item from the creamer to the sugar which I would think that there would have sugar in each table.
Always good food and good ambiance!
Amazing service, the diane salad is as good as i remembered. One of my group said the Stephen sandwich was one of the best sandwiches he'd ever had. Go here!!!
Birthday brunch was awesome
We are from Texas and just found Green Street online to celebrate after my graduation from Fuller Seminary. WE had a group of 13 people including 6 children under the age of 8 years old. Goodness, they didn't even blink when we added one more person - they never acted like the kids and their messes bothered them one little bit! The food was delicious and the portions were huge - split if you have those with smaller appetites.
We enjoyed the live music, the delicious food and the fun vibe!
Been going to Green Street for years...Diane Salad is my favorite!
Delicious food and excellent customer service
We wanted a place to enjoy an early dinner after a movie a few days ago. I had just received an email message from Green Street that mentioned several new specials. It was close to the theater. So, why not! We were not at all disappointed. Our service was beyond acceptable - way beyond. Our dinners were, too. My friend enjoyed a beautifully-prepared steak with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. My entrée salmon salad was exceptional. We were so full, we couldn't even consider dessert, which was a shame. Green Street never fails to please. Never. Ever. We'll be back again soon.
Surprised our food took over 25-30 mins to come, at 11:30am on a weekday , restaurant was not crowded . Definitely not a pleasant lunch but our waiter was super sweet !
Great for Sunday Breakfast. Try the eggs over quesadillas and black beans topped with guacamole.
Had a wonderful time with my girlfriend. The food was interesting, tasty and satisfying. The garlic bread took a while to arrive, but, when it did, it was the best I ever had, fresh out of the oven. Irresistible. Better to wait for something great than to have mediocre right away. Great server, friendly and attentive. Price was very good value.
As always, staff was great, food was great. Sat outside, so noise level was fine.
This was my first visit (though my guest has been a customer for years) at Green Street. The evening was nice and we chose outside which was lovely with heat lamps available as the night continued. Food was very good but even better was the excellent service of our server Meagan. She was "on it" big time. Checking back, giving updates, during dessert overhearing our chat about a hot fudge/chocolate sauce that work so well with our choice and suddenly arriving with it! - now where do you see that? Not many places. I look forward to my next, my second, visit to Green Street. I do indeed recommend.
I found Green Street Restaurant on Yelp and had a very nice Mother's Day lunch with my family that includes folks from Mission Viejo, Chino Hills, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Los Angeles, and Montecito. Everyone enjoyed the hospitality of the restaurant staff and we certainly did not feel rushed to complete our meal. Parking in the adjoining 4 story structure was very convenient and reasonably priced ($10 max).
Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast at Green Street. We were seated promptly at our reserved time even though it was very busy for Mother's Day. The food was tasty, but my omelette was cold when it arrived. I always enjoy the zucchini bread though. The service was good at times, but it was hard to flag down someone when I needed something.
Good food and excellent service!
I have been coming to Green Street for at least 20 years. Saturday May 14th was the first time I was terribly disappointed. This review has absolutely nothing to do with the service as that was exceptional. However, the food (spinach omelette to be exact) was very disappointing. It lacked flavor and it was extremely small and not at all well presented. It looked as if it was made in a hurry. This dish has always been my go to meal. In addition, one of the stalls in the women’s restroom was broken and caused a terrible smell near where we were sitting. Overall a somewhat disappointing experience.
I had lunch with two friends, and they were both late. The waiter couldn't have been nicer about it, and we didn't feel pressure to rush so he could turn over the table. Great food and great Zucchini bread. My only complaint was that the noise level seemed especially pronounced this time.
Green Street Restaurant is perfect for eating on the patio in nice weather. Friends generally share the large Diane salad with zucchini bread. It's perfect for two and doesn't leave any extra. This afternoon, my husband joined us. He ordered the roast beef sandwich with the side of fruit and was very pleased with his choice. This restaurant is very dependable and remains one of our favorite lunch destinations.
As a life long Pasadenan I’ve been coming here for years. Mainly because of the consistency, service and food are always good. Although the last couple of times that is not the case. Tonight was a total abomination, service and food were the worst I’ve ever experienced here. Ordered chips and guacamole to start and that took 40 mins to get, ordered food which then took 45 mins which is now just ridiculous. Waiter blamed everything on the kitchen but he was clearly in over his head. I had ordered the grilled tuna rare, it came completely well done. They took it back(but left the sides mind you) and got me a new one. This time it was still frozen in the middle but I didn’t have the patience to complain again. So I had a $23 dish with cold sides. The waiter said he would bring up with his manager yet when the bill came there it was. So I asked you really don’t think you should take that off? He fumbled and I just tossed my cc and said whatever. Please know that during all this time our table was ignored, I had to track down staff just to get more water. Also I had been really understanding up until the end.
Really bummed out because we love this place so much.
We had a wonderful waitress who gave us amazing service. Will definitely be back.
A neighborhood favorite! Casual, good food, friendly service, good for happy hour, too!
I guarantee, you'll find your favorite dish on the menu and become a regular!
Food was great as always. Service was innatentive.
We needed a spot before the theater and this was it - great ambiance, cocktail menu and dinner menu. Loved the house-made chips as out appetizer with our cocktails. The Dianne salad and the Arroyo were huge hits at our table. I love the Arroyo with the Gaucho Chicken. Great service, too, with a nicely attentive staff.
We've been going to Green Street for several decades now. We almost always get the Diane Salad which is so delicious and comes with a few slices of their terrific zucchini bread!
The service, food, and atmosphere last Friday night were great (like always).
The Sunday Brunch is also great, but either get there early or make a reservation as they can fill up F-A-S-T!!!
This restaurant was great. We had a large party of 15 people and they were very accommading.
Excellent food and service
My second time to Green Street...It was great the first time and I swear it was even better the second.
I came with a group of 5 other women for lunch. We all ordered different things and we all liked our food very much. Our server was terrific, even though the restaurant was pretty busy for a Saturday lunch.
Always a good place for breakfast but the zucchini bread was so dry this time.
Birthday brunch for a small group of old people. We had good food and great service.
Green Street is a very popular restaurant, for good reason. The food is usually great and the service good. However, this was not the case on Sunday. The food was under cooked and the service was spotty, at best. I rarely have a reason to complain about GS, but this was not a good experience. We arrived before it was crowded, so there was no excuse for the food to have been rushed, nor the server to be MIA a lot of the time we were there. Very disappointed.
My husband and I chose Green Street Restaurant based on the number of stars it received on Open Table. While the food was good, it wasn't as good as the 4.5 star rating led me to believe. I ordered the grilled pork chop entree with chipotle-mashed sweet potatoes. My chop was very tough, so much so, that it was a struggle to cut it with a knife. My mash was hot in spots, but only lukewarm in others, which made me suspect they'd been microwaved from either room temperature or even frozen. They were, however, quite tasty.
My husband ordered the turkey tostada salad, which was very good, full of big chunks of oven-roasted turkey breast. We both appreciated the lack of a big, high-caloric fried tortilla shell. The tortilla strips interspersed in the salad were perfect.
I would go again, but next time, I'll try a different entree or choose a burger or salad instead. The zucchini bread served with the meal was delicious.
Omg the zucchini bread!!!!
Delicious food and excellent customer service
We arrived on time for our reservation and were asked to wait, even though there were tables open. This is becoming a horrible trend among incompetent food service managers who are incapable of keeping proper time. It is a stain on an otherwise excellent restaurant review. The food was terrific. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance is delightfully quiet and upscale. The skirt steak was cooked to the proper point and covered with a surprisingly tart barbecue sauce. It matched well with the Jasmine rice and herbed asparagus. The Thai chicken and quinoa was also excellent, light and very savory. I recommend pairing the house cab with red meat, but first sip one of their marvelous old fashions. Mine was made with Maker's Mark and it was an appropriate throwback to a classier time.
