Green Street Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I eat here on a regular basis, but my colleagues (4 professors) were all eating here for the first time. As always, the food was extremely well prepared. I've actually never had a bad dish here and I've eaten at this restaurant for at least 25 years or more. A new item - walnut ice cream -- which completely thrills me since I am from the Midwest and grew up on Black walnut ice cream, which this is very similar to -- not too sweet. I hope you keep it. Of course, I bought my requisite jar of Dianne dressing to take away which I always buy every two weeks.
Beautiful spot away from the hustle and bustle of Lake. Fantastic service, yummy food, reasonable prices, really can’t ask for more. Had the Kale Diane salad which was amazing, a perfect blend of sweet and tangy dressing on well chopped kale, the corn cakes (like buttermilk pancakes with sweet corn inside), eggs, and toast. Everything was good, and we’re very picky eaters! We’ll be back.
We very much enlisted this restaurant , on Sunday . There was six of us ranging in age from 81 to 26 . The service was excellent, our server even moved our table , because s few got cold . We sat outside . The entrees were plated nicely . The food was fresh and tasty . The service was friendly and efficient.
At Green Street I know the meal will be delectable, prices reasonable and service excellent. They change the menu options frequently enough that going there is never boring! That being said you can always find there specialty items; Diane Salad, zucchini bread to name a couple on the menu. Guaranteed good meal!
We had a lovely lunch with an old friend. The wait staff were helpful to check if the pasta dish had any bacon or ham and returned to tell us it has only chipotle flavoring, so o.k. for us. It was quiet enough for us to talk, after the receptionist seated us in a quiet corner. You have only to ask, at Green Street Restaurant, and they are very happy to say yes, "We can do that!"
Our party of four were there for dinner, our first experience, although we have been there many times for lunch. The salads are excellent and provide an ample meal. Most can be ordered in one of 3 sizes, which is great as even the smallest is a meal. Three of us had salads while one other had snapper with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables, which he pronounced to be excellent. The zucchini bread is a nice touch. We ordered a very reasonably priced bottle of wine from a nice selection. Service was a little slow, but we had allowed plenty of time for a leisurely meal before departing for a concert. But one should be aware of the time issue if there is a need to hurry.
Conveniently located near the Pasadena Playhouse, we were pleasantly surprised at just how wonderful Green Street Restaurant. A wonderful variety of dishes, including outstanding guacamole served with warm tortilla chips. YUM! Excellent food, terrific service, delightful atmosphere, all at reasonable prices. Who could ask for anything more???
Green Street always has excellent service and good seasonal dishes. However, they provide no gluten free options - they are sadly behind the dietary needs of many individuals. When asked, they don't even try to help figure out what is safe to eat. They always seem bothered and annoyed.
My work group came during the lunch hour, so it was a bit busy and packed. We were seated right away, since I had a reservation. Our waitress took our order promptly. I'm glad she did, because it took a long time to get our food, despite the fact that most of my party ordered salads. The waitress was not very attentive, and only asked once if we needed anything, despite that fact that we needed several things. The food was great though, but they need to work on their staff.
I have loved Green Street for many years and have never been disappointed by the food until this visit. The Dianne Salad seemed to be yesterday's leftovers, or maybe the day before. Not fresh at all to the point of being shameful. Then our waiter neglected to bring the bread and went on break. As a long time customer I will return and assume there will be no need to complain about the freshness of the salad, but if this had been my first experience, I would not go back.
I haven't been there in quite some time. The Diane Salad and the zucchini bread were just as wonderful as remembered. Nice that they have the small salad size, which was perfectly sufficient for lunch. I do wish they validated for parking, but really, $4 wasn't too much for an unhurried lunch.
Food and service excellent as usual. I ordered a glass of Riesling and the waitress was able to discurso that it was probably too dry for me, gave me a taste, and then took it back when I confirmed her suspicion. The Joe’s Special was great and remind me of dining at Joe’s in SFO many years ago. I keep coming back to Green St. Cafe and expect to continue to do so.
