Permanently Closed - Green Forest Restaurant

I made a reservation originally for 4 on OpenTable. I kept trying to call to see if I could increase my reservation, because we had some other family attending and I wasn't able to increase past 7. I wasn't able to get anyone on the phone. I don't use social media, but I was able to get onto their Facebook page without logging in and found out that the restaurant had closed down and was being sold!! Had the others in our party not decided to join us, we would have shown up to a CLOSED restaurant on my birthday thinking we had a reservation. Not cool at all. If you're shutting down, you should clearly communicate that on your website and sites that take reservations for you.

Best Brazillian Steakhouse in Pittsburgh. Great customer service and selection. Avoid the chain restaurants and support local small business.

So good to be back at green forest. It’s our favorite special occasion restaurant and they reopened just in time for out 15th wedding anniversary. The food and service was fantastic as always. They had smart safety and sanitation practices in place and everything went very smoothly.

As always, Flavia provides an amazing food and dining experience. The changes made due to covid are easy for customers to navigate and are not inconvenient at all. Great job!

For first day of being able to open under restrictions..you all did a great job..better than I expected..made reservations and our table was waiting for us when we got there..food was great and staff was nice as usual..we will return very soon..

Everything was phenomenal from the food to the service!

Overall, a disappointment. They were out of sausage which was one of the meats I was looking forward to. Most of the meats were overly salty. Salad bar was fair. No salmon was served during the time we were there until we were putting on our coats to leave. Service was fast and friendly

Great food, great service. The cold bar has a lot of great selections. The meats were fantastic, cooked perfectly, and the servers were very timely with bringing them to the table.
Ambiance had little to be desired, but the food definitely made up for that.

This is our third visit and quite sadly, the food wasn't as good as our last experiences. The salad bar was outstanding & fresh, but the meat lacked flavor and tasted old & bland. Not as good as before, just ok. But for the money, we expected the same high quality as usual.

Best churrascaria in Pittsburgh. It is more true to the Brazilian style than the others in Pgh.

Wonderful atmosphere, very friendly staff, and of course the next selection is sublime! A favorite place of mine!

I have celiac and so I noted gluten free on the reservation. The owner of the restroom her time to walk me around the buffer and let me know what was and what was not safe to eat. The level of attention to my allergy was amazing.
The food is amazing and the servers will keep bringing you meat until you tell them to stop. Nice wine list and desert menu. Highly recommend the cheese bread. Overall fantastic and we wlll definitely be back.
*side note* The straws with the drinks are paper so if you have a gluten allergy, ask for no straw.

None of the meat had seasoning. I waited 30 minutes after turning my card green to greet any food. The same items kept coming. I felt the server kept skipping us because we were the only black people there

In love with this place

The restaurant was freezing. The waitress was very attentive though. She kept coming back to check on things. Did not like the variety of meat or the stuff on the salad bar. The meat did not have a lot of flavor; no seasoning

Great food, incredibly pleasant staff, very enjoyable evening. Go hungry and experience everything they have to offer. It's all great!

We were very excited to finally try this place. But overall the majority of the meat cane to us luke warm. The buffet selection was lack luster and even though we where there for almost 90 minutes we did not see all the meat options at our table. On top of that one of the servers cut a piece of meat and flung it on my friends lap getting grease all over her blouse and ruining it. No one ever came to see if was ok or apologize. I would not recommend going back. There are much better experiences in the city. Especially at that price point.

Food was served very rare and salty! Our server was very good, but he couldn't help the types of things being brought around.

This is the first time I've tried the Brazilian Steakhouses in Pittsburgh and I was totally impressed! The mean kept coming and loved that so much of the beef is med rare-rare. And soooo flavorful and tender. I didn't leave there stuffed to the gills but very satiated. The salad bar was wonderful, clean. I found myself thinking some of those veggies would've tasted better a little warm (portabella mushrooms, brussell sprouts) but the choices were awesome. Going for restaurant week is the best deal and I'll definitely be back

Great food and service.

Good and service were amazing. A lot of variety of meat offered. The raspberry cheesecake and coffee was delicious. My only complaint is that our table was uneven. Annoying to pay that much for a meal and feel like you are sitting at a card table. We love the Green Forest and will definitely be back.

First time dining here, came out to celebrate a birthday. From beginning to end we were satisfied. Food was delicious. Everyone was so pleasant and happy. The vibe was very relaxed, awesome place for a casual dinner.
