Green Forest Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The service and food was excellent. Great salad bar and their was plenty of meats to have. All hot and ready.
The hostess and or coat check was disengaged, visually flustered, never a smile. No eye contact.
But note she was not disrespectful, just not engaging. Not even a hello . On the way out we got our coats from a pleasant dark haired young woman.
Good ending to a nice night out.
Clean but could use a good remodel.
The food was very good. You get a variety of sides, from salads to special Brazilian foods. If you love a selection of meats (sirloin, chicken, turkey wrapped in bacon, and pork) cooked over a open flame, seasoned to perfection, and the meats kept coming, until you decided you had enough. The pricing was good for six people, but the drinks were just a little expensive. Overall, this is a good place to eat, very filling.
We came here for my husbands birthday and it was wonderful. We loved every meat we tried and really loved the selection of options on the buffet! The cheese bread was an absolute favorite for all four of us! I have already recommended this place to numerous people and plan to come back at least once a month in the future! 👍
We went to Green Forest on Friday, October 6th for my birthday. The food was delicious and our waitress was awesome. The only thing I would complain about is that I was offered chicken and pork many more times that the ribeye and filet. It is obvious that they are trying to fill you up on the cheaper meats!
At $45 a plate it is expected to have a more upscale feel. The furniture was dated. In fact when you walk in there is a pretty old family room style sectional. Although the service was great, it had more of a family style decor. It is definitely okay to wear jeans and a t shirt.
We love Green Forest. We started only going for special occasions but then we'd be somewhere else having a steak and comment "it's not as good as Green Forest". So we've started coming more often.
Even if you're not a meat lover the hot and cold food bar is amazing - rivals Las Vegas buffets and you can get just that at a lower price.
We went because my son requested this for his birthday dinner (15th). The owner greeted us at the door and seated us. She checked on us several times and took extra time to answer our questions. The servers asked if there was anything special we were wanting and if they had it that night then it magically appeared. If you stick to the meal then I would say we had a GREAT value for the variety, quality and quantity of meat. As with most places, the wine and after dinner drinks can get pricey (but the wine wasn't badly priced). Personally I would skip dessert. $13.50 for a piece of cheesecake was too steep. Would I go back? Absolutely.
Went out with my wife and brother to celebrate my birthday. Had a wonderful time as usual at Green Forest. It was my choice for birthday dinner out of all of the restaurants in Pittsburgh! Excellent food and service! The owners go the extra mile to make sure that you are satisfied with everything! I would recommend this fabulous restaurant to anybody looking for a different , fun and exciting dining experience. The chimmichurri is my one favorite item if I was forced to pick one. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Huge selection, both at the salad bar and in terms of meat options. Our server was great and attentive, and all of the servers coming around to tables with the meat were personable. Quality of the meat varied pretty widely, with some options being just absolutely delicious and some overcooked and underwhelming.
The food was delicious, all of it. I'm a big meat eater so this place was amazing for me, but even the salad/cold bar and the hot bar had excellent food as well. And the service was impecable. I got there 30 minutes before closing, which I felt kinda bad about and don't usually like arriving so close to closing, but that was the only chance I had to go and really wanted to try them out. But not for a moment did I feel rushed or anything, and even when I was the last one there and 20 minutes after closing, the staff was still friendly while cleaning up and offered to get me more food. I definitely recommend this place, especially to meat eaters and buffet lovers. But really, everyone should love it!
The owners were present and concerned that everyone was happy and served well.
Everyone there works very hard. It was a well oiled machine.
Plates are frequently replaced by servers and owners.
Beverages are refilled often.
The buffet is very clean and is frequently replenished.
The possibilities are endless.
The food was great (although quite salty).
Each offering was explained in great detail.
It was a very enjoyable evening.
All three of us have highly recommended this restaurant to our friends and colleagues.
We will definitely return.
The food particularly the appetizer and salad bar was poor. The food was not flavorful at all. As an example the oysters had no taste and were not at all salty. The meats were fair but not outstanding. The bread tasted like store bought white bread.
The high point was that the wait staff were very good both with their attention and timing.
We love going here. We used to come for just our special occasions but we loved it so much we come at least once a month. I love the sausage! The bacon is delicious, we enjoy the sushi and caprese as a mid meat break. The sangria is delicious too!
