Green Dragon Tavern & Museum Ratings and Reviews
Was our first time and the occasion was Valentine’s Day. Wasn’t sure what the experience was truly going to be but liked the website and menu enough to make a reservation. Staff was friendly, attentive but not overly attentive. Food portions were large, flavor was great and cooked and served in a timely manner. Prices are reasonable .
Didn’t get a chance to visit the museum due to love was in the air ! Will definitely be back and would recommend the Green Dragon
The food was great! The menu isn't to large, so it's not overwhelming to make a choice. Love the brussel sprouts! Great combination of sweet and savory with the bacon and maple syrup on them. Overall it was a great experience. Will definitely be back in the future.
We were excited to celebrate Valentines as a family and arrived on time for our reservation. The restaurant wasn't crowded and didn't appear too busy at 6:30. Hostess was very courteous and accommodating and settled us into a table of our choice. The waiter arrived frazzled and disgruntled . He reluctantly took our order and seemed to be distracted by other tables. Our calamari app arrived plopped in the middle of the table without side plates which we had to ask for. We had ordered a Caesar salad to share which didn't arrive before dinner. As the waitstaff was arriving with our dinners the salad slipped off her large serving tray and dropped to the ground behind me. No big deal things happen, but what irked me was that she barely apologized and served our entrees to us haphazardly and again plopping the dishes down. My bone in rib eye was served without a steak knife and all of our entrees were lukewarm. Again I had to ask for steak knife. The waiter did arrive with a new Caesar salad that was a huge $12 mess of romaine with a Costco type bottled dressing. For the price the quality of the food was subpar and the overall dining experience was disappointing and uncomfortable. The wait staff didn't offer to accommodate us in anyway for the inconvenience and poor dining experience. Frankly, I don't think the staff had a clue about about giving a customer a good dining experience.
We will not be back.
Left us Green, and NOT IN A GOOD WAY. Food was mediocre at best. Had to send back appetizer, chef didn't drain calamari & was horribly greasy (after it was sent back)... Crab cakes were mushy, salmon was oily. Service was slow (they were understaffed). Told our friends that the food was lousy and not to bother trying this place.
Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Service continues to be spotty, with significant delays in serving bread, responding to special requests, etc. One of our orders didn't include a side order. Paying our check was slow as well. The restaurant needs to hire more servers to meet the demand. We were in the main dining room.
As usual...service fantastic...Frederick was a wonderful person who helped us. He is a gem.good great. Fish and chips as good as alway...flat bread looked wonderful and the R B sandwich au juice looked fantastic. Friends love this place and visit often as we do.
Unique restaurant that includes a Revolutionary War museum. Built in the style of a 1700's tavern with very good food, great service and the kids enjoyed the museum as well as the food, especially the mac and cheese. The seafood platter was even better than the lobster roll. Will visit again the next time we are in the area. 5 minutes from LEGOLAND.
Our experience was perfect! The food was amazing and we highly recommend getting the Connecticut and Maine lobster rolls! We are from New England originally and this was the best lobster rolls we have had since moving to California! We sat by the fireplace and loved previewing the museum with all the artifacts from Boston. Super place, well worth it and most enjoyable!
Large facility with historical perspective - American Revolution. Attended Thanksgiving buffet and then, Sunday Lunch yesterday. Both occasions memorable with super service, excellent food, reasonable pricing, and nice ambiance especially, if you like early US colonial. I like fried clams and the happy hour fried clams are very good and reasonably priced! I will recommend to friends and return.
Pretty cool place. We selected this place because it sounded interesting and it was near where my sister-in-law was getting physical therapy. Menu options were plentiful and our waitress was excellent. We live out of state but we'll be back on our next trip.
There was a single file line for the buffet which took forever to get to the food so we didn’t even have more then one plate. Our waiter was horrible. Didn’t take our drink order for a long time so we just sat there waiting to go to the buffet. Food was ok, nothing special. The roast was too tough to eat and the rolls were cold and hard as a brick. I’m so disappointed. It was way overpriced for our experience. We spent over $200 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Will not be going back.
Thanksgiving Buffet for lunch. Buffet had large choice of many holiday offerings..plus many more. There was nothing I did not like. Presentation was lovely. I wish I tried more items but felt limited due to seating upstairs.( bad hip and knee) I enjoyed the setting...grew up in Trenton. Desserts were all wonderful and something for everyone. I loved the Italian pudding ...very light and wonderful flavor. I also loved the spiced cake. My husband is hard to please, he was frustrated with upstairs but overall was ok with ham and pot roast...I would suggest calling restaurant for reservations for any disabilities or small children. (Bathrooms downstairs too). For sport fans...large TVs all over to watch. Bar was inviting. Thanks for a lovely lunch and no clean up for me this year!
Made reservations two weeks ahead of Thanksgiving, which ensured us a spot as the place is hopping for that holiday! The quality and quantity of the food buffet was an extremely good value. Servers were all friendly and attentive. The interior of the restaurant is very well maintained both in terms of cleanliness and space between tables, so you don't feel like you are eating with everyone else.
Went for Thanksgiving buffet. The food we very, very good. Our server, Amanda, was super sweet and provided every service we needed. We could only get a early reservation but ended up being very glad. We ate when it was not crowded, quiet, no line for food, etc. When we left it was crowded and a long line for the buffet. I would probably not rate it this high if I had been in that line.
Here we have a California resident with a true passion for the American Revolution. There is a great museum with interesting and informative stories about the birth of the USA next to a restaurant with authentic historic comfort food, excellently prepared. Even the staff exhibited strong interest in historic aspect of this experience.
There were three of us who met for lunch yesterday. Both of my friends had just lost a loved one and we were catching up with each other. One friend ordered he shepherd's pie which was delicious and enough to serve two people; she ended up eating half and taking half home for leftovers. My other friend ordered a French dip sandwich. She said it was tasteless so she asked the waitress to bring some Dijon mustard. It took her 20 minutes to walk to the kitchen, get the mustard and deliver it back to her. 20 minutes!!! Ridiculous. By the time it arrived, her meal was stone cold so she left it uneaten. I ordered the fish and chips. The French fries are fabulous. The fish was very overcooked and barely edible. We were all very disappointed with the lunch and not sure we will return. Too bad as the menu has many wonderful items on it. Not sure if I picked the wrong thing but I cannot recommend the fish and chips here. And the waitress was definitely slow. Our plates sat forever before being removed. She did refresh our water and iced tea several times.
We like the location and setting BUT THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE.
CAN'T YOU FIND A SIMPLE GOOD CHEF? WE NOTICED NOT MANY
PEOPLE AT DINNER - MAYBE THEY HAVE FIGURED OUT
IT'S NOT THE KIND OF FOOD THEY EXPECT.
PLEASE IMPROVE OR WE WON'T BE COMING BACK EVER.
AND SORRY TO SAY THAT BUT ITS THE TRUTH.
GET BETTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a wonderful time. The food, service, and atmosphere was excellent! I loved the museum portion too. We were able to carry our drinks, while we looked at the Colonial history documents and photos. We will be going back soon. I recommend the Green Dragon Tavern & Museum.
I love this place more every time I go. First of all the farmhouse motif and whether to sit main dining, the fine bar or oooh! Maybe upstairs! Fun already! Great beer flight. So early America reflected in the ambiance and the menu: New England fave lobster roll done two ways, Maryland crab cakes, steak &fries and a succulent baked cod. Delicious! Pretzel bites with cheese sauce went well with that beer flight. Wanted to stay longer. We will be back!
