Excellent service superb food great place to dine. A favorite place for us and we shall return many times.
This was the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. Our waiter seemed as though he just stepped into the position that day. Needless to say after waiting 1.5 hrs for food we did not stay for our meals. Horrible, which is sad because the other food that was coming out looked good.
The food wasn’t hot ( even when I requested the cake to be warmed it was obviously just taken from the refrigerator before being served) and they ran out of multiple items we attempted to order. My water glass stayed empty and I had to get my own silverware after requesting a knife.
Service was terrible and food took forever. Food was cold and over cooked. Very expensive brunch menu. Couldn’t even get a glass of water refilled. Never again.
Mother’s Day brunch was disappointing. Kitchen staff was understaffed & overwhelmed, servers were doing their best. I knew it was a mistake when our server told us “food is coming out really slow, I’m so so sorry” egg shells in our food, just not worth $42 each.... great for lunch but won’t be back for special occasions. I gave three stars for the servers, def wasn’t easy for them.
I will NEVER go to this restaurant again! Very poor service and the food was tasteless and poorly
presented! They wasted so much of our time that we asked for the desserts to go for three people.
They packaged only two and they were the wrong selections. I was so upset that they ruined my Mothers Day that I called the manager, Crystal and complained.
Mother’s Day brunch- 2018 was a buffet and great this year they did a pricey fix menu - not so great. Super under staff and you heard about it from every waiter. Wait times for food was insane. Waiters forgot drinks, food, silverware —somehow food was good but it wasn’t worth the price. Place should not do holiday dining. Disaster. This is on management. Hire staff.
BEST lobster roll ever! Fun place, the museum and decor are interesting. Very near all the Carlsbad attractions.
Service and food were amazing! Definitely going back to this hidden gem.
Hello Green Dragon,
The evening was perfect for the most part. Service was amazing! Only issue, server forgot the birthday lady's shrimp cocktail, I'm taking 1 star for that even tho it's very small. We ended up ordering the shrimp cocktail to go because she wanted it so bad.
Food was amazing, Mac & Cheese was too big for me to finish. I would suggest smaller noodle portions while keeping the same amount of lobster and combined ingredients.
Favorite Dish: Lobster Rolls, Amazing!!!!
Side note: it's so hard to find such a great place like this that's reasonably priced. If i lived in the area I would come back here on a weekly basis by far.
Really cool concept, interesting story, and the museum is quite good.
Great atmosphere and food. Very accommodating for large groups. Excellent service. You will not be disappointed.
It was a really nice place I love the historical setting and it was quiet enough for the baby to sleep
What a wonderful find. It was quaint and lovely. The food and service was excellent.
I have always wanted to go to The Green Dragon since it opened in Carlsbad. We went to Easter Brunch. Well, it wasn’t a “brunch”. They has a menu they called a brunch menu, but it only included breakfast items. The server was excellent. There was no problem there. We went in the afternoon and didn’t want breakfast. The other menu was limited. The food was OK. We both had a sandwich, but the plate was mostly fries. There were no Easter decorations whatsoever. No flowers, nothing. It didn’t feel like a special occasion at all. The dining room was less than half full, and that isn’t a good sign. I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant.
This was our second time to eat here. The 1st was a Mother’s Day Brunch in 2016, which was phenomenal. We mistakenly thought there was going to be an Easter Brunch the day we were there this year. Off the menu, the scallops were delicious—well seasoned & cooked, but lukewarm. The Frenchdip was mediocre, but the clam chowder was excellent. The pancakes were delicious—fluffy and delicious, buttermilk flavor. We also enjoyed the calimari appetizer.
Special menu items are a hidden gem. Will definitely come back for more
The Super Greens Salad was amazing. The fish tacos were good, but I hate the entree, please serve them a la carte as an appetizer. The chips and corn salsa thing is strange and it just doesn't work.
This restaurant is in a BEAUTIFUL building that is museum quality. Food is a bit on the pricey side, but where else in Southern California can you get quality lobster rolls?
Great menu choices and beer selections, along with gracious service. The fish dishes were excellent! Got to order the baked Brussels!
We had a party of 17 on a Saturday night. Made the reservation that day and they easily accommodated us - all at one long table! The food was awesome, service awesome, waiter awesome and atmosphere was great! Loved the attached museum and history of the place too! Will be back!
Food was great. Service was a little slow. But they caught up after a while. Overall a good place to eat.
Good food, service , and educational !! Sat in bar area which was a little loud, but quality of meal and customer service of staff made up for .
Great food, nice service!
We came on Sunday with a dinner reservation at 6pm. The reservation was unnecessary since it was very quiet. Their website says that happy hour is "all day on Sunday". It turns that isn't true and hasn't been for a month according to the waiter. Kinda lame.
The roasted brussel sprouts were amazing. The steak frites was ok. The salmon burger was bland, and the cod dish was very, very bland. Kinda yucky. The scallops were good but the peas served with the dish were almost raw (hard).
Their museum really neat. A nice place to peruse and brush up on your Colonial American history while you wait to be seated.
The food was great. We sat over 30 minutes between the appetizer and our main course, which was much longer than expected. We also asked for drink and water refills (for 4). While the drink refills came, the water didn’t. My daughter went to the bar to get a refill. The waiter dropped off the desert menu then we didn’t see him for over 15 minutes. While the food and atmosphere was great, the amount of time waiting killed the mood and put a damper on the visit. To be fair, we weren’t sure how busy they were. One side of the downstairs was busy but we didn’t see the amount of people upstairs or know how many people were working as waitstaff. We saw three different waitstaff.
Service was very slow. I ordered the judo ring chicken and it was over cooked. My beet salad was amazing. My friends ordered the lobster roll and salmon burger and loved it. Drinks were good and reasonably priced.
Great food. Enjoyed it with my friend. Enjoyed the Museum as well.
Great food, fun place to look at the history and great for all ages.
Cool setup in the museum, food was a little bland. Service was great though.
Great service and lunch. Interesting items in museum, well presented.
This was at the top of the list for all the restaurants we ate in while visiting the San Diego area. The food was excellent and innovative. Server was prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable. The noise level was much lower than most places, which made it easier to carry on a conversation.
So good, we went back for lunch the next day.
Early lunch on Sunday was excellent. It does fill up and get noisier later.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was helpful and friendly. Great place to bring friends from out of town
The restaurant was no noisy that it was hard to hear your tablemates voices. The main dining room was closed for renovation and so everyone was in the bar area and the mezzanine overlooking the bar. Hard wood surfaces and flooring cause the sound to reverberate throughout. I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone until the regular dining room is open.
We’re from New England and we we were pleasantly surprised to discover the Green Dragon with its Revolutionary motif. Service was excellent and our waitress, Maddy, was attentive, friendly and
We our Oceanside locals and decided to have a little birthday brunch for our daughter . Our waitress was phenomenal and attentive ! Love the museum as well. We I’ll be returning and making the GDT a weekend visit !
It was really unfortunate. The food was slow to come out, but what was really frustrating was we had to ask our waitress multiple times for things we shouldn’t need to ask for at all. To check on our drink order, sugar for the ice tea and then again because she forgot.l, etc Water, three times before she filled our glasses. Was she distracted, having a bad night...? I get that sometimes this happens but we won’t risk having that experience again. Too many other good restaurants.
