This was by far the best Greek dining experience we’ve ever had. The food was amazing. The service impeccable, the warmth of the entire staff was so welcoming. And the ambiance is magical. We will always come here when in Arizona. So incredible! Tell your friends. Come with your friends. The more the merrier!
This is a great place! I’m worried since there were only four tables occupied on a Friday night. We asked the waiter just to bring us mezze plates we could share and then four of us shared two entrees. Everything was fabulous. Wine was ok. Four people for dinner each with several glasses of wine came to about $50 per person. I’ll go back!
I had the salmon dish which was excellent. My husband had the lamb souvlaki which was also very good. I also recommend the yogurt with honey and walnuts for dessert. We each ordered an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The portion sizes were perfect as we both left satisfied without feeling stuffed. We also enjoyed that we were able to have a leisurely dinner without feeling rushed. If you’re visiting the area it’s definitely a place worth eating at!
Kind of rude personal
Very slow service even if the restaurant is empty
Lovely place. Food was amazing but a bit pricey. Owner came over and talk to us. She was very nice. Waiter was awesome and funny. I would go back!!
We've been searching for a quality Greek restaurant that features flaming Saganaki... ever since "My Big Fat Greek Restaurant" closed... and we found it!!!!! WOO HOO! Sorry... OOOPA!!! Not too far. Great food and atmosphere and... and... EVERYTHING!!!!!
Great Greek restaurant!! Both the service and food were excellent! The owner (wife) greeted us warmly on our arrival and came back to our table later to see how we were liking the meal. Very personalized service. We ordered and shared the calamari, which was one of the best I’ve eaten. Instead of being fried, it was sautéed with herb etc. The lamb souvlaki was also great. Unlike other greek restaurants, where it is served with fries or other sides, this dish was specially prepared and elegantly plated. The desserts needed a few more choices, but all in all, it was a great experience. Highly recommended if you are in the mood for authentic Greek cuisine!
Loved it. Wait staff could not have been nicer.
Food always great!
My wife and I dined here on a slow Tuesday evening. My wife had halibut and I had a salad with gyro meat on top. The food was average, i.e. tasted OK, but nothing to rave about. Likewise, the ambience is fine, but not worth going out of your way for. Service was somewhat slow. Server was doing double duty also as bar tender. Sorry to be so non-commital, but this place was not particularly memorable.
Had a team dinner the other night. Everyone raved about the food and great service they received.
Small portions and high prices. Just don’t believe there is value for the money.
Best Greek food in town. Susan and her husband do an excellent job in the kitchen. The choice of Greek wine is superb.
We had a party of 6 women...did a sampler dinner and tried many dishes to get a "taste" of Greece.
Taramsalata, Hummouse, Saganaki flaming cheese, Spanikopita, and a lovety horiatiki salad with Gyrom meat. Their pita bread is the best ever! Greekfest makes you feel like you are right in Greece...such authentic blue and white decor, Greek Music and art.....love this place!
It was our first time visiting. We will be back. The food was very good and the prices too!
Toni, our server was GREAT!!!
Although the food was good, it was pricey. My problem was the service, the reservation was pointless because we were the only ones there and they had no clue about our reservation. The waiter was having issues and left us alone a lot, even when we were finished he went to do other things and left us waiting for our check, we finally had to get up and get him.
The server was pleasant, even entertaining, but not very professional.
Food was good but not very authentic in my opinion. I certainly had better greek food in other places.
The wine list was limited. Although there were quite a few wines on the menu only a few and of completely different vintage (my younger than listed) were available.
Nice setup, nice ambience but food could be better.
P.S. Please do not put glass over a nice white tablecloth.
Love the ambiance..felt like we were really in Greece. Owners Susan and Tony are always welcoming and the food was fantastic. Love the fresh pitas, taramasalata, and rack of lamb@
My family said this was the best dinner they have ever had. That says a lot given both children are not adventurous and have never had Greek food.
My family made me promise that we would return soon.
They made us feel part of their family and each dish was better then the next.
A Greek restaurant should be proud of its Baklava dessert. This was a small portion with taste and consistency more suitable to Denny's. "Medium" lamb chops greatly overdone and little flavor. Terrible wine-by-the-glass selection, a Chilean red wine served far too warm (an amateur mistake), and served in a small glass more suitable for sweet dessert wines. Took a lonnng time (45 minutes) to get entrees after we finished a weak salad. Restaurant should have comped dessert. Server really tried and was very friendly and gracious but doesn't really pay attention . My fault for not sending everything back but we were hungry and wanted to just eat and go at that point. Will definitely not return.
We certainly enjoyed our dining experience at Greekfest. Food was filled with wonderful flavors from start to finish. Enjoyed visiting with the owners and server. Would definitely go again.
Excellent, authentic experience. Delicious from start to finish. Bravo!
Tucked away off Camelback and 20th Street, we made our first venture into Greekfest, an institution since the 80's. Partner and I went for the Mezethes (small plates), which we shared in order to taste as many dishes as possible without overloading. Gyros Taverna is sliced savory gyro meat served with a flavorful tzatziki, red onion, cucumbers and tomatoes. Horiatiki salata was full of ripe tomatoes, juicy cucumbers, peppers and red onion, and dressed lightly with Greek dressing made of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, lemon juice and dill. Extra olive oil was on the table to add to taste. An order of warm pita complemented both dishes. Kotopites and Arnopites are baked phyllo triangles with chicken and lamb respectively. As we went early, we had the full attention of Susan, the lovely owner and wife of Tony the chef, and an extra-competent waiter named Zeph, who reminded me of the professional waiters we encounter in Europe, those who take pride in their work. We will return. There are other things we must try, among them the calamari, the Keftethakia (lamb meatballs baked in tomato sauce), the soups, the eggplant dishes (they grow their own!! I saw the garden), fakes (lentil) salad, and so on. It is a pleasure to sit in a proper dining room with linens, lovely music (the angelic Nana Mouskouri in her heyday). Prices are reasonable and fair for the quality. We will be returning.
Wonderful experience!!!! The food was amazing and you could see and taste the level of quality and care. The dinner was nicely paced allowing us to enjoy each course before the next came. I was surprised it was not busier or more crowded for a Friday night. The menu is huge with so many tapas and entrees. I wish I could try them all! The waiter helped me select a Greek wine which was perfect for me. Greek coffee paired perfectly with dessert. The restaurant was also very clean. I look foward to coming back and trying more.
Beautiful small shareable bites with unique and fresh flavours. It was a nice break from the huge platters of cards you usually get at Greek restaurants. So many beautiful vegetable dishes! Come hungry with friends and loved ones and share many plates!
Food was good service very slow. Prices a little high
Dishes are small in relation with the price. The chicken and the meat was good but not enough. Rice was not recent. Dessert was very good and traditional. The tip is already included (20%) in the bill. I understand now why the restaurant was empty...there are a few more nice places to visit. I have to say that the waitress was very nice with us but we won't go again because we paid 100 $ for a basic meal.
What a great place to spend a birthday dinner with good friends! There were 5 couples, at a big round table towards the back, it felt like our own private room.
Our two servers were very accommodating and did a great job. Thanks to them both.
We did bring our own cake but they served it for us.
Thanks Greek Fest for a memorable night!
Have been going for over 20 years and this has literally set the bar for us in fine Greek cuisine. Sadly, this has made it hard for us to eat at any other Greek restaurant.
Our favorite dish is pita bread with taramasalata (only one made with *fresh carp roe* in the States, it feels like). Can’t even find it in Manhattan—and I’ve tried. We typically order/love the calamari, which is light and lemony; and the Greekfest ravioli, which is also lighter than its Italian version, and I can taste lamb in it. And we’ll order a new dish each time.
I wish this was back east where we are, but until then, we always make this a destination at the end of our cross-country flight.
The food was very good. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.
Outstanding service and service. The dining room is stunning which makes it a lovely place for a special occasion.
DO NOT MISS THIS HIDDEN GEM! The dining room is beautiful, service is welcoming and responsive, and the food is outstanding. I cancelled my other reservation to re return here once more.
Bad food, worse service. I feel bad for the owners that spent so much money to build this beautiful place but the food is disgusting- burned, bitter and sour, no Greek spices and taste. The service- rude , greedy people who yell to the costumers. I will never go back at this place.
Really good food. Service was friendly and inviting. I would go back
A very mediocre experience. Food was brought too quickly, the server did not recognize that we wanted to linger over inks and appetizer, so it was taken away but when returned was not hot. The octopus was tough and tasteless, as well as luke warm.
The service was pleasant enough. We went early so the room was relatively empty, not much buzz.
2 of 3 entrees were burnt (after they took a long time to be served). We had to peel off the burnt top layers to even taste the food.
We told the server who ignored the comment.
Later the chef came around and asked how our food was. We told her, she could see the burnt layers. She apologized, said no one told her, and offered new entrees. By then it was too late. She did bring out 2 desserts which we enjoyed.
the Service and Ambiance were excellent. The food not so much. Had Avgolomeno soup many times in other restaurants. This soup was mostly rice and had an unpleasant spice and we hardly ate any of it. I had a few spoonfuls and my dinner partner had one. It was not taken off the bill or offered to be replaced. Main course was also not that intretesting.
You cannot go wrong here if you like Greek food.
Everything is cooked to order and is delicious.
Best chicken souvlaki in town! We had a lovely meal, great service, friendly atmosphere, nice ambiance. I was slightly underwhelmed by my dessert, but I would still return.
The overall experience was pretty lousy. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. But now will never return. Very pricy for the amount of food you get and the quality was just ok. We were there from 6;15 to a little after 8 and there was no one else in there. That should have been a clue for us. I don't like writing negative reviews, but I certainly wish I would have known this before going here. Would have saved me a lot of money. I spent about $200 for 6 of us with no alcohol and left hungry.
