Slow Roasted Prime Rib*
horseradish cream sauce and au jus
Chicken Fried Steak
garlic whipped potatoes, sausage gravy
Had the Chilean Seabass. Outstanding for a cattle company.
The prime rib and rib eye steak were outstanding, some of the best we have had recently in Kansas City. Too pricy to become a regular dinner restaurant, $9 for a side of potatoes, we expected a huge side to share....but it was just a normal side. The steaks were on the larger side but that was expected at this price. Service was outstanding, so no complaints on the very enjoyable meal. Compliments to the manager and the food runner...both were present and working quickly to keep everything running smoothly. We saw no tables with any issues....rare these days. We recommend if the wallet allows!
You will always want to come back!! We absolutely love this place!!
We eat here for every dinner when we stayed at the Ameristar!! You will love it!!
The dinner was excellent from the cocktail to the end of the meal. And the service was excellent! My husband had a delicious prime rib and I had filet mignon. Both were cooked to our specifications. It appeared that some of the diners were regulars so that is always a good sign.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Food, service and atmosphere were great! Very enjoyable evening.
Absolutely love having dinner here, but I must admit seem that service was a little slow but I understand with the current business and economic practice at the moment that's to be expected. I only made that comment to bring recognition that is well deserved to the men and women who work in the industry of providing services for their patrons and their customers. High five to the entire staff at the Great plains cattle Company.
Great food, great service, and friendly staff! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for! Will definitely go back!
The food quality is always excellent at Great Plains... we always sit in Steve's section who is our favorite server and have never been disappointed!!
Wonderful dinner. Ribeye cooked to perfection. Our server, Sam was truely a joy. He was attentive and very personable. We really enjoyed the evening. Would definitely recommend.
Overall I like my meal. It was a little pricey but good.
Great food, great service equals great time. We’ll be back.
Food was decent, definitely convenient location. Pricing was high, but to be expected given the food type and the location. Would definitely go back again. Waiter and service staff was excellent.
Food was wonderful, the decor was authentic. Service was great
We were celebrating a 40th anniversary. Our server was polite, professional and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was quiet and made dinner conversation easy. Our meals were excellent. Everything was cooked to specification. The only drawback was that it got busy and we weren't offered dessert! I didn't complain but its the first time that has happened. Overall, we had a great time and will be back.
Wonderful dinner with friend and enjoyed the experience. The steak and French onion soup was awesome.
Let me start with I'm a foodie! So doesn't seem natural for anyone who know me to eat here, that being said about twice a year I get a hankering for prime rib and a wedge salad do others do the wedge with equal or greater Newonce yes! Does anyone in KC do prime rib better not in my opinion! Been going 2 times a year for that order Specifically for 15 years and have never not had it served perfectly to my temp requirements mine medium rare my husband medium. I live in the winter or summer as casinos are cool there Dark cowboy low light decor is cozy with several fireplaces.
Price increase may make some not be able to come to this fine place. Should lower price a little!
Fantastic food, service and staff. I couldn’t say enough about this place. From Nadia to Sam and Ben thank you for a great experience again.
Great food, service and staff!
You can’t order a loaded bake potato they bring you cheese and butter and sour cream in bowls and make you fix it. No bacon or chives. Potato was warmed up not fresh. When you order prime rib that’s all you get no sides come with it every thing is priced separate. Use to be a great treat now just ok and expensive.
Hate that they have gone to everything is ala carte. Prices have gone out of site. Would only recommend to people who have and are using lots of casino points. Food was excellent, but there are a lot of good steak and seafood restaurants in the area where prices include salad and side and at much more reasonable prices.
Food was excellent. I chose to eat here by myself rather than go to the ballgame due to temps outside. I felt Very comfortable. Service was fast and efficient. I wanted to try a
KC steak so it ended up being a little pricey as steak dishes are ala crate but it was an excellent steak. I tried the carrot soufflé and enjoyed it. Wish I would have tried the onion soup instead of salad but that was me not sure which to choose I’m thinking it would have been good
Food was very good ...service was not that great...had to wait too long for drinks and waiter didn’t even ask we we wanted an appetizer
The waiter wasn’t the greatest. It took forever to get an order in. Forever to get our bar drinks. He was bossy and told me to take items that I didn’t want because I have a dairy allergy. I didn’t want the horseradish cream for my prime rib because I didn’t want to chance it getting on my meat but he insisted on it me getting it so my husband could have it. I wanted my asparagus sautéed in olive oil but he insisted steamed is what I needed even though it I didn’t because it I knew it would be bland - and it was bland. Other than that the rest oft he serving crew was wonderful and the food was very delicious - except the asparagus which was not prepared how I wanted to begin with.
I've never had the carrot souffle before. I was trying it for the first time and was blown away on how delicious it was. Highly recommend.
Food steak and lobster, salads was great.... service was great.
Excellent service, from seating to the meals end. Expertly prepared high quality food. I suggest the filet, it’s to die for. The best in town! The talent in the kitchen is unrivaled.
We had a great experience for our first time at Great Plains and will recommend to all our friends and family.
Chilean sea bass special was great!
Great service, Great food. Been there several times and will return.
Didn't care for the country fried steak, also the portion size was to large for a single person. Wife did like the steak.
The service & atmosphere was great but unfortunately the food wasn’t what we had remembered from our previous time there. My wife’s steak had too much seasoning on it & her scallops were overcooked, fishy. She couldn’t even finish them & she loves scallops.
This is one of our favorite places to eat! The food is FANTASTIC! The house salad with their homemade parmesan ranch dressing to delicious! Every entree we've ever tried has been fabulous. The wait staff and bartenders are always very pleasant and give great service.
Food was exceptional. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service from Steve was amazing as always. We hadn’t been there for a couple of years due to a move but Steve remembered us and even remembered in great detail where we were from.
Go out of your way to have a ribeye from Great Plains Cattle Company! You will not regret it!!
Your want the best ribeye?! Here it is right here at Great Plains Cattle Company. If you dont know this, your do now but Chef Ben Walanka is the Chef here. He was on Hell's kitchen in season 5 in believe!
The food was excellent as always and Steve our waiter was the best....always does an excellent job!!
Service was great! Comments on prime rib “it’s ok” salmon was dry, dessert was yummy, bread was good but limited. Martini was good. Prices for the Midwest were excessive. Don’t raise the prices during a pandemic.
The Great Plains never disappoints, period. The atmosphere, the staff, the food and the experience is a Class Act. Chef Ben is the reason why I continue to come back. Well done Ameristar, Well Done.
