Great Plains Cattle Company - Ameristar Casino
Not many choices . Burger King might be a better value.
Best steaks and prime rib in town! We took another couple to eat there and they also said it was the best prime rib they have ever had. The chef came by table too which was nice and appreciated.
Certainly not cheap but great food and service! Their KC strip was perfectly cooked to my request.
Overall it was a good experience. The waitstaff were very attentive. Food was good. Atmosphere was quiet and you could hold a conversation with the people you were with.
Took a Girl Friend our for her birthday - Steak was awesome!
Pretty good meal all the way around. No wait, food arrived promptly.
On October 16, 2019 the food and service was outstanding as well as their special which was prime rib.
Jennifer did an excellent job as our waitress. Will be back again
We had the prime rib special and it was delicious. The waiter was very good and on top of getting things we needed.
We had a drink at the bar waiting for our reservation. Great decor, nice staff. Jennifer, our server was an absolute delight. Food was delicious. I was after steak, and I found a great steak!
Awesome meals. Awesome service
Always good steaks and all that comes with it. Very good location for celebrations (Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.)
By no means inexpensive, would like it to be a bit less costly so we could go more often.
Going to Great Plains Cattle Company is treat! It is beautifully decorated with a Western theme, the lighting is just right, the food excellent and the service outstanding.
It was the first time there. The atmosphere was clean with nice decor. It was a slow time with just a few patrons. The server was in a hurry to turn the table. My guest made the comment that our server acted like a fast food server in a nice upscale restaurant. I had asked for soup, before the salad was served. The server did this by bringing the soup and within 15 seconds brought a salad which was soggy, not crisp. The medium steak was brought to the table which was cooked well done. The server looked at the steak and said, “yes it’s over cooked” and left. Halfway through desert the server brought the check, threw it on the table and said, “no rush”.
At no time was a apology made for either the poor service or food.
This was a Birthday dinner which was certainly not up to par.
Food is excellent! Little pricey but well worth it.
Chef Ben, as always, does it right. Our waiter, Sam, always treats us with the right balance of friendliness and professionalism. We usually spend $100 + tip for cocktails, a glass of wine and dinner. Good value.
Best steak I’ve had in years
Chef Ben is an amazing chef! He's such an asset. We have become return customers since he's been there. Our waiter Steven was excellent and made the evening very enjoyable. The hostess was a very sweet lady as well. We love going places where we feel appreciated. Thank you so much for a wonderful anniversary dinner.
Food is great but it is a little pricey, still for a special night out it's a great steak
The food is very good and the service is excellent
Great food, great service, great venue in general! Loved the decor! Very clean as well. Great steak, great appetizers, awesome bread basket and great salads too!
Jeff was our waiter and he was extremely helpful and gave suggestions when we asked about wine. We will be returning for him and the food!
Great bartender! Incredible dirty martini. Great steak!
Ray and myself decided to dine with you all before going to the Howard Jones concert. All I can say is, AMAZING!! The service was fantastic, the head Chef was very professional and courteous and the food was simply DELISH!!!!! We will certainly be back and let everyone know that Great Plains Steakhouse is the place for dinner. Ray Ross and Kurt Kreissler.
My prime rib was over cook ask for med rare got at best medium. Should I of sent it back yes but was running late on time other than that it was fine. By the way you have the best mushroom.
We had wonderful time. Private booth over by the fireplace. Food is always wonderful and the speciality dessert was amazing.
This place was spot-on everything from the waitresses to the food I would recommend this place to anyone
Always a wonderful experience! One of our favorite restaurants in the city.
Service excellent. Food excellent. Value just a little pricey.
I have been there before and the service and food was great. This time it was disappointing. The prime rib was not cooked correctly so then had to be thrown on the grill, which changes the flavor of it. Last time it was nice and tender and this time it was tough. You pay alot for steaks and prime rib, so expect them to be high quality. The baked potato this time was over done and tough. One person got mashed potatoes and they were absolutely horrible. Everyone at the table thought so! The salad and the bread were good.
I was not impressed. The prime rib was tender but had no flavor. My glazed baby carrots were way under cooked. Waiter did a good job.
It was our first time there and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed it from the bread to the last bite of steak.
My husband and I were here for dinner before a concert. We had reservations and were seated immediately. The busboy was the hardest working guy we’ve ever seen! We had waters and a bread basket before we had even settled in. Drinks from the bar were slow, but nicely crafted. Filet, very nice, needed seasoning however. Shrimp and grits, too much on the plate, also needed seasoning. Overall, good place for dinner out, but a bit pricey.
Everything was great except for the rib eye steak. It was tasteless and worthy only in a one star restaurant. Very low value for the price.
great service and excellent prime rib and mushrooms
Great food and the Staff was very attentive. Would definitely recommend going there.
We had my boyfriends birthday dinner there. It was nice. Waiter was good. Food was excellent. A little pricey but good.
Waited 25 minutes for cocktails, had to ask for tem 3 times. Steaks chewy. Service not great.
Brussel spouts were very delicious, best thing I can say about my experience... ordered a 22 oz dry aged ribeye rare side of med and it came out blue! Sent it back and they reheated the exact same steak which has been cut in half and now it was well done no pink anywhere to be found! A $70 steak should be cooked to perfection every time no questions asked! Also had the spinach artichoke dip which tasted like came from a can! Salad was minimal effort at best!
Great food awesome ambiance and our servers were outstanding. Great date night with the wife with great food prior to the Little River Band concert. Thanks again see you in a month.
