Great Northern Ratings and Reviews
When were arrived for our lunch reservation, our table had not been set up for 7. The wait staff was slow, and it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was not very warm. One plate had a grilled cheese (cheese not melted) and asparagus side that was charred and overcooked. This meal was removed from our ticket, which was good. Overall, it was not a positive experience.
The food was sub-par on every level. What would be a great place is ruined by the food. Six people and we had a variety of food and all of us agreed it was just meh. I regret not talking to a manager about it. But I wasn’t trying to get out of paying for it, I just wanted better food. I quickly realized this wasn’t the place to get it.
Overall this is a good place but there were some minuses - they were out of a few things that we were wanting and this was a major dining out night. It's more of a sports bar atmosphere than finer dining, although the prices are closer to a finer dining than sports bar. Food quality was fine, but it didn't hit it out of the park for any of us. With so many choices of restaurants, it's not likely a return visit restaurant for us.
The waiter had too many tables. Our guests Margarita tasted like lemon Koolaide. Pretty hard to screw up a Margarita. That's just lazy using cheesy mix. The Mahi Mahi Tacos were saturated with reddish grease. No reason for greasy Mahi. It should be clean. We were neglected by the waitstaff, but they were stretched.
Horrible service. Waited over 10 minutes for our coffee and water. Waited over an hour for our food. We had to point out that three tables of two each seated after us already had their food. Yes, we were a table of eight, but come on. Once food came, soup was not hot, mildly warm, yet tasty. French fries were cold. I will say the crab cakes were a huge hit, delicious, but could have been warmer. I think our food was ready long before our waiter served it. He seemed flustered and way over his head. We will not go the there again!
Service is very slow, weird because the restaurant was not full. Food was certainly overpriced and not worth it. Baked mac and cheese, was bland. Calamari was over cooked and rubbery. Fried cheese curds...well only about half had actual chees inside, the rest were fried bits of breaking. Pot pie was decent.
