Great Maple San Diego Ratings and Reviews
This place was a lot better than I anticipated! It was packed on a Saturday morning but with a reservation we were seated within 5 minutes of checking in. The French toast was amazing & it was huge! All of the food was delicious and we hardly waited very long for our meals. The Great Maple is a really cute place for brunch! We will return soon!
Fried squash blossom popover was unique and delicious. The sides were just as delicious and well cooked as the main part of the meal. Portion sizes were generous and good value for the price. Maple bacon donuts are a must! We took more to go home. Service was excellent at each point (host, server, food runner) and our coffee was topped off frequently!
The waitress was a little rude, and also the manager. We had a 5 month baby and they made it really hard for the mom. They wouldn’t bring a chair to put the baby’s chair which made her put the chair on the floor and they also had a problem with that. The baby’s chair was not allowed to be on the floor, but they didn’t even try to give her a solution.
Awesome food (see maple bacon donuts) but this place really stretches the wallet when you’re paying $18 for breakfast. $18 for two eggs hash w potatoes and some meat. $12 for 3 donuts. Again, great food, but the price point leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
It was nice sitting outside. Not as loud. Busy as usual. The food came cold after we waited a long time. We could not reorder and wait again. The server did not care. She didn't try and make it right. We paid a lot for a terrible breakfast. I know it can be great! May try again. We will not have that server!
Our family is in the business, we know how it works! Never let a customer leave unhappy!
Although we had an Open Table reservation, we did have to wait about 20 minutes past that time. The food was quite good but the noise level was too high to really carry on a decent conversation. Therefore, I would not recommend going for Sunday Brunch/Lunch as we did.
Went for the 1st time to celebrate my birthday. (They asked, when making the reservation if this was a special occasion & what the occasion was). They made no mention of it when we were there. Maple bacon donuts were great. Loved the coffee. Chilaquiles were a bit watery on bottom of dish = just ok. Waitress was very pleasant.
Even with a reservation and getting there five minutes prior, the hostess made us wait about 10 minutes while she sat customers who were there without reservations. I realize there was a crowd, but that’s why I made the reservation. I think once here is enough.
