   Unfortunately the steaks were over cooked. For the price point and size, they need to definitely work on that. When mentioned, server just apologized and didn’t offer to correct them. Not sure we will go back. Too many other options out there now.

   First time for breakfast this past Sunday. We weren’t disappointed; service excellent, menu choices very good without being overwhelming and prices very good for close to waterfront dining. Thank you we’ll be returning.

   The grilled wild salmon entree and the shallot and mushroom side dish were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Pleasant and attentive, but not overbearing. The surprise birthday ice cream sampler was a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommended!

   My wife and I went to Gray’s for New Year’s Eve. The food was wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was terrible. Super plain, a little bright, and no holiday decorations except in the window for passers by. Some twinkle lights would go a long ways. This is our third time eating at Gray’s and although the food is delicious, I doubt we’ll be back. It’s an expensive evening out to not be treated to a nice atmosphere.

   Our first time there and we had a good time. Service and food was good. Wasn’t too loud like a lot of restaurants. Drinks were a little over priced but other than that we definitely would go back!

    Dinner at Grays on Christmas day was exactly what we needed. We were seated in one of the booths away from the main area, which was perfect. We had cocktails, green salad with bleu cheese dressing, vegetarian mushroom tortellini, salmon, and finished the dinner with creme brulee and skillet cookie with ice cream. The food was delish! The service staff was excellent. I highly recommend Grays.

    We really enjoyed our dinner on Christmas. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was delicious. Our server was very competent and did a great job. The wine was a bit overpriced however that was our only issue. We want to return to have the fish and chips! So delicious.

    Service staff were all great! So, if you are doing a Christmas dinner- it makes NO sense to switch to a different menu at 5pm, so the one we looked at online for days was NOT the menu that was presented because the Christmas Menu ended at 5pm (which NO ONE TOLD US ABOUT when we called and had some questions)... And then that menu goes away at 8-ish and the the full regular restaurant menu is available till 9:30pm... and then again, a 4th menu- a limited menu- is available after 9:30. One of the staff members off the record said it was very hard to keep menu items straight in their heads because there were so many menu change outs. Do a Christmas dinner until at least 8pm.... Your menu change outs made absolutely NO SENSE. Dinner from 2 to 5? WTHell? Fire the moron who made all the menu changes though out the day. I wanted the Pork Chop and had picked that out online from the menu I assumed I would be ordering from. I didn't want Fish and Chips, which I ended up ordering because I cant eat beef and beef items were 2 of the 4 things listed. No Turkey, No Chicken, No Pork? Just beef 2 ways, Salmon and Fish and Chips?

    I ordered the very Merry Cosmopolitan and Sherman came back and explained that there was only one bartender and they didn’t have enough time to get the ingredients. So, I ordered a vodka tonic. Later our server Sherman came back with the original drink I had ordered. He had made it myself. I was impressed by Sherman’s thoughtfulness and his willingness to go above and beyond to please the customer. Sherman was excellent! I can’t say enough about his level of service. Also Grays makes some of the best prime rib around. Thank you for a memorable Christmas.

    The prime rib and scalloped potatoes were delicious. But what was more surprising were the green beans. I usually don’t care for how restaurants do their beans but these were exceptional. I could of eaten a bowl full

    I have always enjoyed the food at Grays but was very surprised at the menu on this trip. We got there at 11:20 on a Saturday and they had already ended their brunch menu. If we had known this would not be available we would have gone somewhere else. We decided to stay but were unimpressed with the menu selection. My husband chose the fish and chips and the fish was small pieces of fish that looked about the size of small tater tots. Our out of town guest chose a turkey sandwich that looked rather bland. The salad I had was the best of the three choices. The server was pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere is good. I would hope Grays would consider having brunch until at least noon on weekends and improve the lunch selection.

    The food was delicious, but spendy. The service was very slow even though the restaurant was basically empty. Came for a holiday lunch with my office. Hardly any holiday deco, in fact not much deco at all.

    We ate there Thanksgiving so they were busy. Nevertheless, our drinks (ordered 1st) came 15 minutes after our mediocre $35 turkey dinner. My bourbon didn’t go that well with the green beans. We’ve had Thanksgiving dinner at Roots and all of the courses were coordinated. Not a great dining experience.

    We hadn't visited Grays's for a couple years and were happy to see that it was still a great dinner place. Our dinners were excellent and the service was perfect. Our waitress was fun and friendly and very attentive.

    My 7 "girlfriends" and I, longtime retired, busy seniors, were looking forward to our regular gathering monthly gathering --this month, lunch at Skamania Lodge in the Columbia Gorge. However, at the last minute, due to mid-October forest-fire/smog in the Gorge, we moved our lunch reservations to Grays at the Park, Hilton Vancouver. What a great decision that was! We were all very pleased with the excellent food choices offered, perfect preparation of each meal, and friendly and superb service. The bonus of the lovely setting on Esther Short Park in beautiful downtown Vancouver, and the quiet, relaxed atmosphere ensures that we will be back. And, for burger-lovers, theirs is the best; the beef is exceptional.

    We arrived to a nearly empty place. The service wasn’t bad it just didn’t feel like they cared much either way. The food though was like a step (just barely a step) up from a place like Shari’s. It is a hotel restaurant and feels like a hotel restaurant. It’s not an elevated experience as the menu offerings and pricing would have you believe. I won’t be returning anytime soon, unless that get real chefs and stop relying on cooks to carry the menu through.

    I really appreciated the patience of the wait staff. My guest took some time to make up her mind as what she wanted to eat, and the staff was patient with her. This is important and appreciated. You don’t know what your guests maybe going through or what challenges they are dealing with because things are not always so obvious. People take medication that affects their decision making abilities. People lose loved ones or jobs or experience life altering circumstances. You see people who came to eat, but I may have brought my guests to your restaurant to help with their healing. Simple things are not always so simple. For my friend, it takes her a really long time to settle in, focus on the menu and make a decision in part because of the long list of medications she needs to take to combat her stage 4 kidney cancer and many other health issues. If I need a wait staff to handle my guest more gently, I bring them here and not a fast food restaurant. The ambience is calming. The staff is courteous. It’s not that they don’t sometimes get impatient, but they do keep their annoyance to themselves. I appreciate that very much. It’s more than the food and the ambience. It’s your patience and kindness that can make this a refuge for those who need some solace, and a bright spot in their week. This restaurant never comes up as a breakfast restaurant but it’s one of my favorites. Everything I’ve eaten here has been prepared beautifully… and so far the service has been very good.
