Due to some recent surgery, didn’t want to travel far from home. Not a big fan of eating in Hotel Restaurants due to lot of work travel. However, I would go back to Grays in a heartbeat! It was Valentines, so service was a little slow, but the attention we received was excellent and our server was very good at providing good recommendations.
The food was 5 Star! My wife ordered the Beat Salad, very fresh Beats and great presentation, I ordered the French Onion Soup, it was the most unique French Onion Soup I ever had, and by far the most flavorful. Our Entree’s, were just as awesome as my wife had Bacon Wrapped Prawns served on a bed of grits, just as good as you would find in the South, I ordered the NY Strip Blackened and Medium Rare, it was perfect and the mashed potatoes were just perfect and filling. Lastly we ordered a side which wasn’t necessary but we did, it was a side of Brussels Sprouts, they sat in a great cream sauce and topped with perfectly cooked bacon.
There is no reason to cross the bridge and go into Portland, Oregon, Grays is a Top NW Restaurant right here in #TheCouve. Great Job Grays.
First time there for me and my wife. Great service and food. Friendly waiter and other staff was attentive as well. Great experience for first visit.
Service was very slow we waited 30 minutes after being seated to see a waiter. Everything was slow from there.
Every restaurant has an off day and this might have been theirs. The service was "glacially slow". We sat at the table for at least five minutes even before a glass of water showed up. The waiter serving the table showed up after 15 minutes and asked for our drink order. We decided to order our meal immediately because the time needed for the drink order followed by a meal order would have been much too long. If this the norm, then don't bother eating at Gray's unless you have lots of time to kill...and bring a snack to tide you over until they show up to serve you. Also, the noise level did not help the ambiance. Excellent food, nice decor, expensive and very slow service.
Great as usually. A favorite go-to spot.
Excellent service, nice setting, nice presentation. Noise level was high . Will request booth next time. Few prawns on salad. Tons of greens. Great balsamic dressing! Overall, flavors were very good. Husband said pork chop was tough, but tasty.
Christmas Day Dinner. Great food, drink and service
We were not aware there was a limited holiday menu. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. We were disappointed in the limited options and the portions were very small for the price.
I wouldn't recommend. There's far too many superior fine dining choices in North Portland and Vancouver. Hopefully, I'm wrong - but the food seemed pre-prepared "and warmed up." The texture and coloring were different than what I usually am served. Service was great - but too fast. Felt being pushed to move along for someone else.
Gray's was amazing. The food, service, and overall look of the place great. We will be back.
Small business dinner - great service from Sarah!
Food was absolutely out of this world amazing and we have the half chicken the pork chop in a mac and cheese
Almost everything was great as usual, what was really disappointing was I had requested a window seat as my wife and I have attended the tree lighting ceremony for 15 years. I put in the reservation almost a month in advance and noted the special occasion. Had I been told all those tables were taken that would be one thing, but I was never told that and assumed we would be seated accordingly. So despite good food, the whole night was... meh. Not worth the price.
Maybe it just requires me to phone in the reservation and not use an app that doesn’t convey how important this might be.
It's scary to go to a new restaurant for the first time, especially on a holiday, but that's what we did. Thanksgiving dinner was incredible. First of all, the way to my heart is with a nice tart Italian dressing. Anyone noticed how few restaurants have one anymore? The white balsamic dressing was perfect for the beautiful fresh salad. I had traditional turkey, and my friend had ham, and both were excellent. Even the stuffing was perfect. Our waiter was efficient without hovering, and we were even able to have a conversation without yelling. All in all, a great experience. We will definitely be back!
For a friend’s birthday. A great place to dine and be able to have a conversation.
Spot on apps and dinner. Great service
Greatly improved after the remodel. Varied menu.
We went for the Dining in the Couve deal
We both got the sirloins and they were seasoned and cooked perfectly as well as being very tender for sirloins .
We order the ‘Dine the Couve’ menu, the steak is very small. It looks like a kids meal. They cut the portion to match the price. So sad!
All our food was cold. Service was worse than pathetic. Management needs to really enculturation the server on what service means.
A lovely restaurant, convenient to the waterfront and shopping. Excellent service by knowledgeable staff. Food was well presented, a bit expensive.
Very good food for the dine the couve October month!
shortly after I got room I started experiencing diahrea symptoms which persisted through the night.
I should have sent the under-cooked salmon back.
Went here for Dine the Couvre promotion. Did not disappoint. Portion was a bit smaller & Dessert wasn't first choice, however, meal was super & delicious.
Grays is a gem in downtown vancouver- quiet, and luxurious with pleasantly attentive service.
The disappointment was the steak. In the past their steaks have been a great best kept secret type item.
I was surprised to notice, based on the server’s description, the grade of beef is ‘choice’; I had thought it was ‘prime’.
Perhaps it’s changed.
Despite being prepared in a 1600° oven there were no sear marks and the rib eye cut I had was dryish and lacked flavor😐
Otherwise all was great.
We came to Gray's for to celebrate our Boss's engagement & the staff from the moment we walked in were amazing. They allowed us to come in early to set up surprise décor and were extremely polite and accommodating. We will be attending Grays again soon!! Thank you all for amazing customer service and atmosphere!
Cameron was our server, he was fabulous! Very attentive, gave suggestions and really did a fantastic job! The food was amazing, my steak was cooked to perfect medium rare. Our appetizers were phenomenal, we had the hot crab dip, asparagus and my favorite, the blackened prawns. Really delicious!!
I highly recommend Grays at the Park.
Bonus: FREE valet! But PLEASE tip your driver!! We certainly did!
1 improvement needed...PLATING! I had the rib eye steak and while it was delicious, the presentation was not. It was a steak on a plate! Perhaps a little garnish or Demi-glace would have dressed it up a bit.
Amazing food and awesome environment. The place was really low key that evening but it made for a fun and enjoyable double date with our fitness. We had the house salad, the New York steak and shareable asparagus. It was all delicious.
Grays is an overlooked gem in downtown Vancouver. Good food, great service, nice atmosphere.
Good food, good service, very over priced. Wine by the glass is ridiculously priced, and no full bottle pricing available, not that you'd want to buy a whole bottle there.
French onion soup was too much
Service was not good. We were left alone after receiving our food. My friend did not have enough water.
Service was stellar! We reserved for 8, and they had it all set up for us. Beautiful restaurant, friendly and patient server. The food was beautiful and delicious.
Valet parking available to guests.
It was my birthday dinner.
Beautiful restaurant, service was amazing, food was ok. Mash potatoes tasteless and wedge salad was weird.
The decor is clean contemporary, quiet and orderly. The only criticism I have is that the place lacked charm. A bit too austere. They specialize in steak and our were indeed superb. All the go withs were good and they have an extensive wine list.
Fantastic service and food!!!
The restaurant had great ambience, service, free valet parking, great food. The steak is the best I've tasted which includes Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. The waiter even packed our take home boxes.
Excellent venue for good food and quiet atmosphere making conversations easy and private.
