After my wonderful dinner I wish that I lived closer to Gratzzi Grille so I could indulge more often. My Chef's selection Scallops were superb- not overcooked - just perfect. They don't skimp on quality here- from the perfectly crafted martini, to the crusty bread and the very fresh scallops. I finished with a cannoli and espresso- it hit the spot. The service was also excellent.
The food was good, but I fear we made a mistake. That bada bing pasta cooked at the table is delicious but INCREDIBLY rich. I can't imagine anyone eating a full serving of it, so the two of us picked at it and also shared our other entree of a linguini with seafood. We saw a group of four order the bada bing and divide it by four as appetizers. Now that's a good idea. Something happened with service. Greeted nicely, got our drinks, had our soup and salad and then sat for over 45 minutes never even seeing our waiter. We appeared to be his only table in our dining room. Finally we called over the host and asked what was going on -- apparently they had totally forgotten about our entree and then within minutes they wheeled over the cart to do the pasta at the table and the seafood pasta arrived magically out of nowhere shortly after.
One of our favorite restaurants in St Pete's. Excellent food and service always!
We loved our experience there and look forward to coming back again soon.
When I got to Gratzzi they did not have my Open Table reservation. I showed her my confirmation. They were able to sit our party. I don't think I got my credit for it. That has never happened before!
Had a good meal- though we were seated in the back corner near the restrooms. Booked about a month in advance because I had a great meal here on conference about 5 years ago, and was excited to bring my husband this time while in the area. Sort of thought they figured they’d put us in the corner because we were younger patrons and less likely to complain. We drove 45 minutes from our place in Clearwater just to enjoy a meal and would have appreciated a better table. There were other couples seated in the booths that were empty when we arrived (and these couples entered after us). I don’t know if Opentable allows for restaurants to see when a reservation is booked, but if it is booked far enough in advance, it would be safe to assume the diners are on a special occasion. Oh well...
The waiter warmed up after our first encounter when he didn’t hear me say “hello” and repeated himself because he didn’t hear me. Fair enough- but I didn’t care for his tone on the second greeting. Left me with a little bit of a sour feeling. In perspective, we spent less than $70.00 on the evening an likely would have spent quite a bit more if I felt like we were getting top-notch service. It’s not uncommon for us to visit restaurants such as Norman’s in Orlando and drop $200+ between the two of us, and tip graciously. Perhaps young age doesn’t necessarily embody the customer they believe will bring the most dollar value to their establishment. Again, oh well. This restaurant books solid often and they probably don’t care.
Overall- probably won’t return because it’s out of the way for me and it wasn’t as memorable this time due to the aforementioned comments.
Excellent excellent food. Service was very good considering it was Super Bowl Sunday. Thank you.
Wanted to treat my grandson to a nice dinner. He dressed up and was so excited and hungry. Food did not arrive for an hour and a half he ate bread and fell asleep. We asked our server to bring his food as quickly as possible and it still did not arrive until all meals came. It was sad for him.
I have been here several times. The food is always good. I have tried multiple different entrees and I have never been disappointed. This time I had the pork osso bucco with portobello risotta. It was fantastic but the serving was large. I took it home and it made a great lunch the next day. The cocktails are good. The staff is friendly and prompt. Make sure you reserve a table because they are usually booked a day in advance.
It's been a while since I've eaten at Grazzi and was pleasantly surprised. Reservations are a must, especially on Mondays when the wine by the bottle list is half off. The bar had only one tender and she was scrambling to serve the packed bar area dinner and make all of the drinks for the house - an extra helper would have eliminated the 15 minute wait for a glass of wine while waiting for our table to open up. The escargot appetizer was amazing in a velvety tomato cream sauce with mushrooms, leaving not much room left for dinner but a salad, and a good one at that. Good experience and will definitely be back!
