Gratzzi Grille Ratings and Reviews
Had a good meal- though we were seated in the back corner near the restrooms. Booked about a month in advance because I had a great meal here on conference about 5 years ago, and was excited to bring my husband this time while in the area. Sort of thought they figured they’d put us in the corner because we were younger patrons and less likely to complain. We drove 45 minutes from our place in Clearwater just to enjoy a meal and would have appreciated a better table. There were other couples seated in the booths that were empty when we arrived (and these couples entered after us). I don’t know if Opentable allows for restaurants to see when a reservation is booked, but if it is booked far enough in advance, it would be safe to assume the diners are on a special occasion. Oh well...
The waiter warmed up after our first encounter when he didn’t hear me say “hello” and repeated himself because he didn’t hear me. Fair enough- but I didn’t care for his tone on the second greeting. Left me with a little bit of a sour feeling. In perspective, we spent less than $70.00 on the evening an likely would have spent quite a bit more if I felt like we were getting top-notch service. It’s not uncommon for us to visit restaurants such as Norman’s in Orlando and drop $200+ between the two of us, and tip graciously. Perhaps young age doesn’t necessarily embody the customer they believe will bring the most dollar value to their establishment. Again, oh well. This restaurant books solid often and they probably don’t care.
Overall- probably won’t return because it’s out of the way for me and it wasn’t as memorable this time due to the aforementioned comments.
Wanted to treat my grandson to a nice dinner. He dressed up and was so excited and hungry. Food did not arrive for an hour and a half he ate bread and fell asleep. We asked our server to bring his food as quickly as possible and it still did not arrive until all meals came. It was sad for him.
I have been here several times. The food is always good. I have tried multiple different entrees and I have never been disappointed. This time I had the pork osso bucco with portobello risotta. It was fantastic but the serving was large. I took it home and it made a great lunch the next day. The cocktails are good. The staff is friendly and prompt. Make sure you reserve a table because they are usually booked a day in advance.
It's been a while since I've eaten at Grazzi and was pleasantly surprised. Reservations are a must, especially on Mondays when the wine by the bottle list is half off. The bar had only one tender and she was scrambling to serve the packed bar area dinner and make all of the drinks for the house - an extra helper would have eliminated the 15 minute wait for a glass of wine while waiting for our table to open up. The escargot appetizer was amazing in a velvety tomato cream sauce with mushrooms, leaving not much room left for dinner but a salad, and a good one at that. Good experience and will definitely be back!
I found this restaurant to be schizophrenic in that there are tablecloths and table side service but the bar area is in the center of the restaurant and can get very loud. We were there for a date night and loved the food and service but were disappointed to have to see and listen to the bar crowd yelling at one another doing shots and taking selfies. We also found it distracting to have people waiting for tables standing directly in front of our table with their backs to us. We did enjoy the staff singing happy birthday to my wife and bringing a tiramisu and limoncello shots to celebrate.
A couple friends treated me for my birthday. The early bird $15 menu had at least a dozen different choices. House wine was $3.50, I ordered the steak, w/ mashed potatoes, salad, bread, and cream brule'. I can't wait to return, but I live 20 miles away--wish the restaurant would open one closer to my home.
We went here because we had heard good things about the place. I had Pasta E Fagioli soup, it was tasty but didn't really taste as it should, didn't detect any sausage. The salad had a peculiar taste in it that we were unable to determine what it was, again, not horrible but not what we were expecting. Ordered Chicken Marsala, it was very tasty, but the chicken was kind of tough, didn't eat the last piece because I was unable to cut it with the butter knife. Not sure why, but everytime we go to an Italian restaurant, there is always a woman that feels the need to laugh as loud as she can, this occasion was no different. Not the restaurant's fault of course. None of us were drinking, so we didn't try any of the wine, so we can't comment on that. Overall it was a pleasant visit with some small annoyances, but the service was excellent, Cloie was an attentive and efficient server.
Went for a birthday party. Made a reservation on open table but the restaurant claimed to have no reservation. Luckily it was a slow night so we were still able to get a table. The table service was great with fergie and food was amazing as usual. The steak tartare is my favorite in the world. Gave a 4 star rating because i jad the reservation in my phone and even received a confirmation. Had this been a saturday and we couldnt get a table after all I would have been very upset. Birthday girl got the special which was lobster ravioli with scallops and shrimp. Dish was very good except that the shrimp were in a cream sauce and birthday girl had to take the tails off her shrimp. We all found this strange considering it was in a sauce but then she had to use her hands to remove the shell? We got lucky though with being able to get a table for 6 still and the rest of the night was perfect.
First visit to Gratzzi and absolutely delighted. Service was truly five star from Toni. Menu is a real challenge with so many delicious choices. Four of us shared two appetizers which were fantastic and all chose different entrees , everyone was delighted with the choices and food tasted amazing. It was my birthday and they gave us a complementary Tiramisu which was sooo good we also ordered a Creme Brûlée to share... will definitely be returning. A new favorite in the area
Had a very delicious meal at Gratzzi. Our server was excellent and had a great sense of humor. The restaurant ambiance is unique and lovely. We all loved our individual pasta dishes! The only thing I thought was odd was that we were charged for the birthday dessert they brought out for my friend's birthday. Usually that stuff is free, so we thought it was odd. Overall, a very lovely experience and we will definitely be back!
Grattzi’s Management was so nice. We arrived on time and it was such a beautiful night in St Pete we asked to be seated outside. They were so accommodating and advised us we may have a wait but they did have one table that had paid their check and if we were patient, we would have that table. The paid diners took forever to leave their table but once they did leave, four other tables opened up at one time. Casey our server was very good. Seems he has the knack of short pours and he kept out white Wine chilled and cold. Our meal? Just as we expected: excellent. My husband loved his spaghettini and meatballs and Grattzi accommodated his request for meat sauce. We thought the tab for this was inexpensive. Two, new to Grattzi’s , diners loved the lasagne and the eggplant parm and as always my eggplant rollatini was delicious. We did not finish our bottle of wine and Casey made no bones about following the Merlot to Go Law. He put the cork back in the Wine, put the bottle in a sealed bag with a receipt and sent us on our way. We love Grattzi Grille and always have a delicious meal here. We are not hesitant about ordering anything on the menu.
We have always greatly enjoyed Gratzzi. Good food and great service. The one thing we don't enjoy is their lack of wine lists. They never ever leave one when we're seated. We always have to flag someone down to bring one and then god forbid we keep very long! They need to let loose of some $$$ and purchase a few more.
Grattzi’s a long time favorite for us and in all our years of coming here we never tire of their well prepared Italian food. We admit we order Cavatelli Bada Bing too much but it is a signature dish here and we love it. This is truly a restaurant where you need not be afraid of trying different foods.
We have been dining with Gratzzi for 15 years now and it still remains in the ranks for good, solid nothing too exotic Italian food. Tonight, Gratzzi was spot on. It is a friendly , happy restaurant filled with groups of people out to eat well, drink heartily and have a good time. Our server was excellent, not rushed, accommodating and was genuinely concerned that we were happy with our meal. We had a shared meal: crabmeat stuffed mushrooms with far more bread filling than expected but we loved them; our salad was a shared house salad that we always enjoy and Cavatelli Bada Bing. Yum! The Cavatelli is always so filling we bring home leftovers and enjoy them even more the next day. Tonight was everything we expect from Gratzzi at it’s best and we left happy campers waiting to come back for more
