Thank you for making our first wedding anniversary such a memorable experience!
Menu is on an iPad, which in our case was pretty filthy. Food was just mounds of glop, neither prepared authentically nor inventively. We were looking for an upscale place and this wasn't it.
Very nice restaurant with nice variety of food and excellent service.
Great meal, superb waitstaff, iPads a little challenging to navigate initially. Loved our first visit.
The food is very good quality and the preparation is excellent. They do not skimp on salad greens or mushrooms or quality meat and their recipes are also very good.
The service on the night we were there was plain inadequate-the waiters and waitresses were just about running to get to customers and there was a clearly sense of irritation on the part of customers. They need more staff!
Took a bit to get first drinks, wine service. I think server was triple sat so not really her fault. Nice selection of meat and cheeses plus a small pizette. Salads excellent. Entrees very nicely prepared. Bass, veal, filet.
We were seated promptly for a birthday dinner. Service was very slow. I haven't been to Gratzi in a few years and was looking forward to some good food. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I ordered the scallops -- they were very small. I had to leave off 2 items due to gluten-lactose intolerance, so that left green peas and fingerlings. The portions were tiny and a bit overcooked. I was also disappointed that they no longer have a separate gluten-free menu. I may have had a few more options than I did.
Gratzi is always solid. Maybe not as cool as some of the new kids, but solid.
Absolutely wonderful! Choosing this restaurant to celebrate my partner’s birthday was a great choice. Our waiter, Alex was nothing short of amazing.
Four of us went to Gratzi for a birthday celebration. All of our meals were very good except for one. My 92 year old mother loves lobster and ordered the Lobster Spaghetti. She was so disappointed to discover that the lobster tail shell was empty (used for decoration only) and that the dish only contained one small piece of lobster. To be fair, the waitress suggested that mother could choose something else on the menu. The wine was excellent and the Filetto DiManzo is yummy. But the Lobster Spaghetti was very disappointing.
Very nice. Thank you! We brought our own birthday cake and the server graciously cut it and served it with our candles. We were a large, talkative bunch and he handled us well. THANKS!!!!
Food was delicious!
The service was a true standout at Gratzi. The food was, of course, delicious, but Nicholas really made our experience special. He had excellent wine and pairing suggestions, and everything was prompt and as expected. The flourless chocolate cake was our favorite dish of the meal, and the vanilla gelato with it was a perfect companion.
We eat at Gratzi frequently. Typically we have a very good experience. The reason I scored the ambiance lower this time was because we were seated near the entrance and folks were standing in the lobby holding the door open and the cold air from outside was blowing in on us. I thought the host’s could have been a little more proactive and invite those standing in the lobby and right next our table by inviting them into the bar area. The service was extraordinarily slow on this specific night.
It was OK. I’m not sure if I have changed or they have changed, but it’s not the special experience I used to think it was.
Group of eight, students and parents, dining together. Unfortunately, meals came out at all different times. Two orders were wrong and one entree was cold. Giving the benefit of the doubt, it was a very busy night and our service was great. Still an enjoyable evening.
Disappointed, requested upstairs center table months ago but could not accommodate for daughter's 30th birthday.
More disappointed in the way in which the food was served. Brought our entree while still eating our salads. Apologized for crowding the table with the excuse that the kitchen was busy. That doesn't make sense, seems that would result in the entree being served later, not sooner.
Food was good, with the exception of a bone left in the rabbit dish.
As usual, dinner at Gratzi’s was excellent. Our server Peter was pleasant, knowledgeable, fun and attentive. A little expensive for casual dining, yet worthy of a special occasion or when you want to be served and pampered. Already planning for another dinner at Gratzi’s! This was my son’s first time at Gratzi’s and already planning to return. Next time I am saving room for dessert. Able to serve both carnivores and vegetarians.
Awesome experience. Was a great dinner to celebrate my birthday.
Food was great! Our waiter stopped by twice and never came back with water and cocktails. Would have had more drinks if we had the opportunity. We stepped over to Chop House for drinks to finish the night.
We were here for my husband's birthday and enjoyed the entire experience, from the table upstairs, overlooking the street below, to the excellent and friendly service our waiter provided. The food was delicious, and we especially recommend the crisp ravioli appetizer and the deconstructed cannoli dessert. There is no better birthday value in town!
We both ordered the filet and lacked texture and taste. Tasted lake sawdust. Poor value for the price. Also found the bread to be too hard to dip in the olive oil. The older bread served was much better. We can ‘t say we look forward to eating there again. Very disappointing as we celebrating a birthday.
The service was great, but the food is not. My food was burnt and the menu choices for breakfast/brunch are bad - very limited and classical dishes are deconstructed too far so they are not tasty. This is beautiful place with wonderful service and I wish the menu was reconsidered and proofed/qualified by tasting.
Would have expected a lot better of brunch service. Food was mediocre at best. Service was good, great wait staff.
Good location, very good service, ambience and good food, relatively well priced
Not as good as I remember. Fewer choices as I recall from previous visits.
I was craving carbonara but they didn’t have it on the menu, they worked with me and made a delicious chicken carbonara dish for me. Amazing service and food!
I had authentic Minestrone and a lovely pasta called saccheti..if you like a Marsala flavor , this one is for you. My husband was very disappointed that they stuff the meatballs with cheese. Gracious service, house made cibatta and limoncello.
We met friends for a delicious dinner to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday. Erika -our server- was attentive to dietary needs and brought dishes in a timely manner. We asked to be moved to a booth as there were a few noisy tables and our need was taken care of immediately.
All staff members were friendly and professional.
Bella welcomed us warmly and Sarah came by at the end of our meal to make sure everything was to our liking. It was - thanks to all.
What a major dissapointment! Do not waste your time or money. We reserved a table for my moms 75th birthday and indicted ahead of time of this special occasion. The waiter never acknowledge it and we later told him it was her birthday. He was apathetic at best. The food was cold and my dads short ribs were all fat. We sent it back and the manager said a new meal would come out immediately....it took 20 minutes. We certainly aren’t the kind of people who expect anything, but there was no further acknowledgment from the manager or waiter and no apology. When it came time to order dessert, I was thinking that the waiter would at least comp the tiramisu due to her birthday and mess up on my dads meal, but nothing. Bottom line, there are a million choices we could have picked for this special occasion, but unfortunately, the 1 hour drive from Trenton turned out to be the wrong choice.
Good food, great service, and good value. Cheese board appetizer was great & new to me. Friday nite was a bit crowded. Out of 6 mine was the only concern due to temp of sea bass/risotto cake. It was not their usual quality & they offered to remake, I declined. Servers Peter & Dina were most gracious and anticipated our needs.
Alexandria is a great server!
Birthday celebration. Waiter was nice but service was slow
Food was good but not great.
It was my second time dining here. This time our waitress rocked. Came on a first date, so she made it special to bring out a strawberry with a candle and said “it’s worth celebrating”. Food was great could be hotter though. Overall wonderful will be back again.
Disappointed in both the food and service. I ordered the sea bass and it was overcooked and the risotto ball it was on was barely warm.
I have been to the restaurant every year since about 2011, coming once a year from Kansas City. We were a table of 7. Only my meal was poor. The seafood risotto was inedible. Something must have happened in the kitchen and this particular preparation went out without oversite. It was incredibly sour, and the only seafood I could discern were 4 shrimp on the top of a gloppy mess of rice. This must have been an anomaly. We will come again, but not likely to order any risotto in the near future.
This was our favorite place to go. The food was AMAZING (like with each bite you were thinking (how is this so good!"). But after having a baby and life we hadn't been here for 2 years. Went for our 7 year Anniversary last night and it was not as good by any means. I would say it was on par with Olive Garden. However the drinks and bread were fantastic.
Visiting from out of town. Recommended by friend and lived up to his review.
My xwife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary, wanted a special place and Gratzi came through. Service was excellent (Nick). He knew all needed details, about the food and drinks, actually spoke, some Italian.
Will certainly go back. This was not our first time there, as long-time Ann Arbor residents.
Easy parking in the back.
Place was fairly empty yet we were seated at the table right by the service station. Server was very good. We have had great meals at Gratzi on many occasions, but this one was disappointing. I had Chilean sea bass, which tasted like it had been over cooked, or reheated, as it was quite dry and not very flavorful, and the risotto cake was burnt, not browned..burnt. My companion had the filet with portobello, which we have both enjoyed before, and it was just okay. The creamed brûlée was fantastic however. We went for a free birthday entree, and this time were very glad we weren’t paying full price. We wont go back again any time soon. The food is just too inconsistent.
