Gratzi - Ann Arbor
Ask about our Birthday Meal Deal!
Gratzi continues to prepare and serve wonderful meals. Our East Coast out-of-town guests were most impressed.
This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant. We get there 1-2 times a year and always enjoy the food, ambiance and service. I wish we lived closer. This time I had asked for two different specialty drinks that they didn’t have the ingredients for. They actually sent someone out to buy them and made the drink for me!! How special is that!!
We were seated at the Chef’s table and was not disappointed! Waiter was attentive and food was wonderful! We enjoyed a great Mother’s Day meal.
The ambience, service was perfect 10/10. Drinks were decent enough, appetizers and deserts worth every penny. However, reason for low rating is the maincourse was a let down. First of all , it did not match the pictures (which I usually do expect from high end places). And secondly, quantity was more than what was shown, and tastes bland.
We had a very disappointing evening dinner. This restaurant has changed significantly from our last visits. Starting with the service they didn’t have silverware for few minutes, the server didn’t even notice until we ask, we waited almost an hour to get our tasteless main dishes, and finished up with sizable bill that was not worth.
Terrific food, and fabulous service.
The food was excellent. The service was prompt and courteous. It was a wonderful experience for my entire family.
Loved our recent experience at Gratzi. All of our meals were excellent, the service was great, and even the view (near the window) was so very nice. A great lunchtime venue.
Sat next to the kitchen, which itself is loud. Food missed the make this time....seafood risotto was so bland and sandy. Hubby’s veal chop was very good.
Excellent, great meal and service
First rate experience, superb food and service. Will gladly return.
I haven't had dinner at Gratzi in a year or two. I'll start with the absolutely fantastic service I received at the bar while waiting for the rest of my party. Not only did the bartender listen to what I liked as far as wine, he suggested wines I would have never tried. Then, when we ordered our wine at dinner and the two choices we requested were out, HE came upstairs and offered a suggestion, which was fantastic. Kudos to him and his service. The hosts were also great and so kind to make sure that my mom was absolutely happy with the table we were given for her birthday dinner (which we agreed was the best seat in the house). Our server for dinner was just ok. Nice young woman but seemed almost robotic. As for the food. We were ALL impressed. The three of us all ordered the filet. We are pretty accomplished home chefs so food, and good quality food, is important to us. I ordered a house salad to start. Let me tell you that this set the tone for what was about to be an amazing meal. THANK YOU for not serving an over-chilled, flavorless salad! It was clearly freshly made and that made SUCH a difference. I wish all restaurants did that. No chilled plate, no freezing cold tomatoes....perfection! The meat was tender beyond words, cooked perfectly and the char flavor of the vegetables was delicious. ZERO complaints. Nice job, Gratzi. Years ago, I had several mediocre meals at your restaurant, however this experience ensures that I will be back!
This the service and food was amazing our waitress was very knowledgeable of the Italian culture as well as the dishes served.
Interesting setting. Nicely laid out. Food is good but nothing memorable. Chicken Milanese had too little arugula and the chicken was over fried. Fettuccine was a but watery. Had to ask for more water and utensils
Service, service service! Peter, the manager makes us feel so special the second we walk through the door! We had a great booth seat. Charlotte, our darling waitress had great suggestions and was honest about menu items she loved and maybe ones that fell short. I love that about a server. The new cheese plate is awesome! The special of chicken parm was delicious! Perfect way to kick off grad weekend. You aren’t rid of us forever ... we will be back!
Unfortunately the food quality was not good at this visit. Two of the dishes came out of the kitchen cold. The pasta was blunt but the chicken parmesan was good. The seafood risotto was disappointing.
Desert was very good.
Did not meet expectations.
Lovely spot and service terrific but all 3 of our dishes were just ok. Salmon with gnocchi - salmon and cream sauce were cooked fine but were not well seasoned. Gnocchi was gummy. Just not high quality. Lamb chops were fatty. Shrimp w Farfelle - shrimp was cooked fine but dish was very one note and bland. Just no real flavor. Bread was amazing. Wine and lager were good. Shared tiramisu for dessert. Flavor was delicious but it was served largely frozen.
Had never been here, so I wanted to go here for my birthday. Made a reservation, arrived and sat down with a few of my guests. There was good quiet atmosphere and we were seated in a nice corner booth. The waiter eventually came to the table, and began asking if anyone wanted any drinks. My friends had some questions, so he left to find the answers, he seemed to be gone for quite a while. I wanted to ask myself about their soup of the day, and to ask about an entree I was interested in but he walked away immediately after getting my friends drinks. I think they may have bee short staffed, or perhaps something else was on his mind. Regardless the food was pretty good, although pricey for the sizes. And it came quickly once we were able to order food. When we all had finished eating, and asked for boxes, I watched him grab the bread sticks and throw them out. I honestly thought he was going to box them, like I know it's a fancy restaurant, but I prefer not to waste food. Hopefully next time, my waiter will focus on all the guests at a table and not be so quick to walk away.
Very good food - came here for my husband's birthday (can't beat the birthday deal they have). Had a very professional waiter - and the food was great! Would definitely go back!
Our waitress was knowledgeable and extremely attentive. She made the celebration of me getting my Masters so memorable. She took pictures for us, helped us pick a champagne, and gave great recommendations on the menu.
Service was good. Food was good. A couple of issues - water was mixed in with olive oil and the free limoncello was terrible. If you are going to serve limoncello, offer good stuff or charge for it - sugar water is really bad. The fish was excellent and so was the eggplant parm. Nice wine list however the house cabernet is not so good at happy hour. OVERALL I recommend and would return.
The yellow fin was good, not great. The lobster with gnocchi was a failure. I should have returned it but just left most of uneaten.
Celebrating Easter. Everything was wonderful.
Nicole was the worst server I have ever had anywhere.
We had a lovely time at Gratzi! Our waitress was absolutely amazing, so fun and sweet and friendly! We shared a lot of laughs with her and had such a great time. Our food was absolutely divine as well, and we thoroughly expect to return!
Really great food, awesome service, and overall a great experience. Will definitely be coming back here again!
Charming upstairs seating, Italian opera in background, fun night. Excellent food!
Always a delicious meal and knowledgeable servers. I've never had a bad meal here
Excellent service and delicious food!
As always, the food was great. Only issue was at the start when they couldn't find our Opentable reservation but they were able to accommodate us.
Definitely yes! A very enjoyable evening with good friends and great atmosphere, service and dinner choices!
A.very.pleasant and enjoyable experience. Food, service and attention to detail was excellent.
The atmosphere is beautiful here. We had our first date here 19 years ago, so we were excited to come again. We were seated in just about the worst spot upstairs--right at the staircase and the server's station where they ripped tabletop paper, retrieved" to go" boxes, etc. There were several tables to choose from, and why I didn't ask to move is beyond me. I asked the server about the burrata--he had never tried it. I asked him what he recommended between two pastas--he had never tried one of them. I ordered the gnocci with lobster, and the papparadelle came out. I had to wait, but mine did come out quickly. It was mediocre, although the chicken marsala was terrific. Seat choice and service were poor, and your staff should have tasted everything on your menu.
Fantastic table, wonderful food, excellent service!
The food was very disappointing. My veal scaloppine was more like pasta with a few pieces of veal, and the pasta was undercooked.
It was a good, not an overly great experience. My wife's soup was fantastic, here salad was very good. My pasta dish was ok. It had been many years since we were there, and back then my experience was amazing. This experience was somewhat of a disappointment compared to what I remember. Still a wonderful place.
I called in advance to let the restaurant know we were celebrating my husbands birthday. When we checked in the host said happy birthday and greeted us warmly. Unfortunately our server was not very interested in us and brought us the bill without being asked and without offering the dessert menu or coffee. So we went somewhere else for dessert. Was bummed as I was hoping for a better experience.
Great food. It took a long time for food to come and even longer for dessert. Otherwise, overall good experience.
Meal wine was also of course the best of the state.
We've always loved Gratzi. We love the historic site and beautifully decorated interior! Thank you for enriching Ann Arbor with your fine food and ambiance.
