Gratzi - Ann Arbor
Ask about our Birthday Meal Deal!
We had some very selective eaters. Even they enjoyed the food very much. Sword fish was excellent.
Very good food & service. Would go again.
We love Gratzi, but our visit on this Saturday was very disappointing. The service was not what we expect when dining at Gratzi. Maybe our server had a bad night, but poor service quality ruined an expensive birthday celebration for a family of five. I hope our next visit will be much better.
Service is the best. Food is great. Drinks arrived as ordered. Deserts were all low cal (NOT) but great!!!
We have been going to Gratzi’s for over 30 years when we are in Ann Arbor. The restaurant has consistently maintained the quality of its food and service.
Only complaint is it was a little too dark!!
Unfortunately the pipe fitters convention was having its annual bash it was fun but really loud. Festive but not a great place for conversation
Our server was professional, polite and had a good sense of humor. Food was great and we had a good time!
Always a great meal at Gratzi. Food is served very hot. We had the pan fried chicken, rabbit risotto, and goat cheese filled ravioli. All were cooked right and served hot. Restaurant is an old theater. There is patio, main and upper floor seating. We were in the upper level and no issues with service. Always come to Gratzi when in Ann Arbor.
Great outdoor seating! Service & food were also great.
Dat up in the balcony. Food phenomenal, service was great, kind pricey but not outrageous.
Our food was good but not for the price. Limoncellos at the end were not so good, next time we will forgo the offer, too sweet, not very lemony even for homemade. I was not feeling well the next day digestively, wonder what the health code says about tossing the Alfredo in a Parmesan cheese ring! How is it cleaned to prevent bacteria?
Our waitres was awesome!
Loved this place, great staff, excellent food and great wine list. Really cool that the IPads let you see what the food looks like before you order!
This is always been one of my very favorite restaurants, my day went for the first time with me and absolutely loved it
Sat outside, lovely time, great food and drink.
My Ann Arbor favorite Always quality service and quality food
Unfortunately one of their best dishes was changed recently and is no longer good. We were quite disappointed. The service and the manager were great and understanding and did not charge us for the meal but our favorite dish was ruined.
Great restaurant, great food, great drinks, The waitress was awesome and we will definitely being going back.
It was nice dinner. We were 4 people, include 2 kids, really enjoyed our dinner time.
As good as usual
I lived in Ann Arbor when Gratzi opened, and it was a welcome new restaurant - the first non red-sauce Italian. More expensive than some others, but far from the most expensive place in town. Gratzi was (then) consistently great. I went many times in the decade I lived in A2. This last visit (my first in many years) was disappointing. The prices were very high, among the highest priced in town. And the dishes - apart from the salads - were subpar (our group had a variety, marsala, salmon, two risottos), and the bread wasn’t fresh. The recommended wine was wonderful, but the service was ehhh (dishes came out at different times, a vegetarian dish came out w seafood atop - when the corrected dish came out, we all suspected that they had just removed the seafood & sent the dish back out - we chose not to make a fuss). Would I come back? No. Next time I’m in Ann Arbor, I’ll stick with Real Seafood, Cottage Inn, & the Earle.
Gratzi has been a family favorite after my husband and I got engaged there 20 years ago. Through the years however the quality has steadily declined. After our most recent visit we will be sadly be giving Gratzi a break for a while. The food was terrible, the service, although friendly, is no longer top notch and the quality of cocktails from the bar is sorely lacking. I understand that there is yet another head chef turnover, so perhaps the future holds more promise for Gratzi. Until then, we will go elsewhere.
Excellent food, wine and service. And all in a wonderful town.
Overall not good. Bad service, directions not followed.
We had a lovely time and an enjoyable meal. Lots of things to like on the menu!
The service was very slow, sat down a 6;45 dinner was not served until 8;00 and was not hot. A piece of fish on top of a pile of something
Go Tuesdays for the flights: 4 wonderful wines and accompanying gourmet appetizers for around $25. Delightful and affordable way to sample high quality wines and complimenting dishes beautifully conceived, prepared, and presented. Mondays, by the way, is Half-off wine by the bottle, a great way to dig into Gratzi's superb and Italian-favoring wine list.
Our waiter Edgar was outstanding! The food was really good, especially the burrata appetizer. The service made all the difference and we’ve already made a reservation for our next visit back in Ann Arbor.
Love the authentic Italian choices. Unfortunately a seafood allergy prevented me from sampling some of the dishes. Food is fresh and very good
The food was excellent and our waiter was fantastic!!
We sat in the back by the kitchen which was not too bad however our server kept forgetting things, Splenda , tea etc. we asked for our meal to be split and it came out on one plate and the second plate we got was a small rectangular plate. Just felt like we were a second thought. We’ll try again cause we always give a second chance.
Been here more times than I can remember over 15+ years. But, by far this was my worst experience. Our waitress literally disappeared for 30 minutes and no one stopped by. Upon returning, our waitress says..”sorry, didn’t expect to be gone so long.” Manager seemed to not have a clue how to run a restaurant. All of our food was was cold. We watched a table of 6 sit down for 15 minutes and no one address them. They just got up and left. Hopefully this was a one-time event and not a trend.
Not enough servers
We were a table of 10, arriving at separate times but our service was flawless. New drinks arrived. Appetizers were shared. MMM, that antipasti and those saccheti and the calamari--so so good. Everyone's dinner came out together. No complaints about the mains: swordfish, tenderloin, salmon, lobster gnocchi. And at the end: limoncello shots for all! Accompanied by espresso for those night owls.
I went in on the 12th of July with my friend (for my birthday .)
A very wonderful restaurant to offer a birthday special for their patrons and guests. The meal of salads and dessert were very good. A nice way to spend a birthday 🎁
The low seating in the dining area is not suitable for those under 5’5. Tuscany Soup was lukewarm and bland. Could not taste eggplant in the appetizer. Farfelle shrimp dish also lukewarm and tasteless. The beet salad was the best.
This is my favorite restaurant to go to in Ann Arbor that serves delightful Italian dishes. If you can request the window seating upstairs. Great for people watching and amazing ambiance. Love Gratzi!
I enjoyed a delicious birthday dinner. The bacon wrapped scampi, lobster gnocchi and creme brulee were very good. I was seated along the railing in the upper level with a nice view of outside. Service was also very good. Thank you !
Food was really great, my friend and i went out for lunch and we each got a salmon dish. Our server was excellent, she accidentally charged us for the dinner price but then the manager was able to change it for us and we had the lunch price. It was nice that Gratzi was open for lunch on Saturday, definitely will return!
