Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press.
If you will be dining with your four legged friend guests are invited to enjoy the heated patio, where your pooch will be pampered with cushy beds and are invited to order off the doggie menu. Please contact the restaurant to request patio seating.
I’m not sure why this restaurant gets such good reviews. Our experience was just so-so. The charcuterie is totally uninspired & I hate it when the server doesn’t bother to identify the meats & cheeses. All items were tasty, but I make a more interesting charcuterie at home for half the price. The tuna appetizer contained fresh tuna & lovely avocado, but lacked any acid or salt, so the flavor was terribly bland. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely & our waiter was charming. I was expecting a much more refined dining experience than the one we had.
Absolutely Over the top. We celebrated my mom’s 85th birthday there last week. My mom’s quote was, “those were the best crab cakes I’ve ever had!” That’s saying a lot coming from the mouth of an 85 year old!!!
Delicious food with great service
Very enjoyable birthday event.
Amazing food and service. We ordered 4 appetizers: Crab cakes, Calamari, Paella and Abalone. All perfectly cooked and very delicious. This was my 2nd time dining at Grasing's and I will always be back when in Carmel/Monterey area.
Stopped for lunch while traveling through - cute setting, impeccable service, and delicious food. We loved the charcuterie and the eggplant sandwich.
The staff was very friendly and took care of business. Lobster risotto was outstanding. Meat quality was superb. Desserts were beautiful and tasty. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
I had the chicken fettuccini and it was AMAZING!! The vanilla Creme Burle was really good. The staff was really nice and attentive. We will definitely be going back!
First time I have been disapointef.
My Ribeye was a little tough, but other than that everything was great.
Mike’s service was superb...and the food was outstanding...worthy of 3 Michelin Stars!
I enjoyed my dinner, but I was dining alone and felt like they wanted to hurry me on out of there. I was barely there 40 minutes from seating to leaving. My steak was a little crisp on the outside but still good.
My second time back and my husbands first- excellent -can’t wait to go back!!! Jen the bartender was lovely and food was fab!!!!
Everything was excellent - food, ambience, service - all perfect. On vacation, couldn’t have been better
Our 18th wedding anniversary. They had heart confetti and a card on our table...super sweet!!
We wa minere a family of four celebrating my husbands birthday and had heard how special and amazing this restaurant is. It took forever to get our order placed and when our appetizers arrived, the presentation was more like what you would get in a diner not an exclusive restaurant. The artichoke appetizer was disappointing. It was tasteless. Three of us ordered the sea bass. The fish was not fresh and not very well prepared. The plates were super hot and the food was room temperature so it must have either been prepared in advanced or sat there for some time. Again, I got the feeling I was getting diner food. The quality and freshness were not there. My husband had the ahi Tuna and said the same thing...it was just okay. The waiter never asked us how the food was and never came back to pour wine or offer more water. The restaurant was not that busy and the service should have been much better. For $400 I would dive expected extraordinary service and high quality super fresh food with attentive service. We live locally and will not be back.
Compared to our last visit to Grasing’s, this experience was very disappointing. Music was too loud and totally inappropriate for fine dining in an evening. We opted to share the filet and instead of preparing a separate plate for each of us, as before, they brought one large plate and 2 salad plates. Could hardly fit our portions on the little plates. After we commented, we seldom had a server ask about our meal. We have lots of eating options in Carmel and we’re sorry to have had this experience at Grasing’s which we have always liked.
From the moment we walked in ....the staff was welcoming , professional but very warm and friendly.
They recommended a awesome bottle of wine and specials that evening . The chef created a wonderful dish for my wife and came out a second time to the table to make sure she loved it . I saw a few of the past comments but from someone who travels and eats out frequently.....Grasings is a must do in Carmel .
Friends visiting from East Coast. We continue to have outstanding experiences at Grasings- food and service.
Lovely restaurant, a bit crowded. Fine service and good food.
Another incredible meal at Grasing's! They were quite busy with a special party, but it did not deter from their excellent food and service! We could not have been happier !
Love, Love, Love Grasings. Fantastic food, great wait staff & nice ambiance.
We ordered salads and appetizers plus a bottle of wine. We felt we were ignored. Had to ask twice to get our wine poured, portions were small and prices high. Very disappointed! Beware, bottle of water on Table was ‘’$9, and no one told us, until too late!! Will not go there again and will not recommend it to anyone!! We have a huge group coming into the area for a wedding, but they have lost our business.
we were there for brunch. Food was good but not espectacular, I was expecting more. our frittatas were super dry and tasteless so we returned them annd order something else. beautiful restaurant!
Overall the meal was fine. The fish was incredible, gluten free options/substitutions were lacking.
Phenomonal and extensive wine list and extremely knowledgeable sommelier! Food and service was excellent. Recommend.
Fantastic restaurant. Absolute must do when in Carmel.
We were there for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. They took such wonderful care of us. The cuisine, ambience and service was amazing, as always.
Looking forward to going back again soon.
I reserved for a friend’s birthday and was delighted when we were shown our table, which had been decorated for her. The waiter was attentive and pleasant. I would say that the food itself was disappointing, especially for the price.
We have dined at Grasings many times, but the last two visits have been very disappointing. The noise level made it nearly impossible to have a conversation with our guests. The service was abrupt, and rushed. It truly was not a “fine dining” experience.
The food was delicious but very, very expensive. The wine list (bottles) was super pricey. The service started out fine but quickly became inattentive as the meal wore on.
All in all I would not return, it was too pricey.
Superb food and excellent service. Great tuna. Best Manhattan my husband ever had-spicy and delicious.
My favorite place to dine at when we are in Carmel.
Food is always superb and we love to visit the bar after dinner to visit with our favorite Bartender Erin
4 of us dined on aSaturday evening.
We were seated promptly to a lovely table.
We were given very large sized menu, a bit difficult to handle really. Many pages of wine, incredible!
All 4 of us were delighted at our choices of dinner , lovely cocktails, impeccable service. Highly recommend for a special night out. Bill added up quickly to a large sum, but we all felt it was totally worth it.
Slow service. Tasty food.
Our server was amazing and the food was absolutely to die for! Such a wonderful experience. Will be back over and over again.
We were there Saturday January 4, 2020. The sea bass was amazing as promised. It really was the best meal I’ve had in Carmel that I can remember, and we live here. Our server Michael is a great guy and does an awesome job. I can’t recommend anything better. Also, see if Ira is tending bar when you go. He’s a great guy and “social chemist”.
Grasing’s had great customer service and delicious food!!
Great location and charming venue. Wine list was amazing and the food very good. Host, waiter and chef very accommodating.
