Nice little place with good boards. Would go here again in a heartbeat.
Great spot for small plates and appetizers to pick at
Very intimate and conducive to great conversation. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the charcuterie and wine were outstanding. We sat at the "bar" which is actually the charcuterie prep bar. I recommend sitting there as you can watch and talk with the the chef as he prepares all the charcuterie dishes. This was a fun way to spend an evening catching up with good friends.
I've been to grapes a few times and have to say that it seems like the prices are going up and the portions are getting smaller. We took the medley board and the cheeses were very small and there wasn't lots of pickled veggies on the board either. Last time there was more food and it was a better value for the money. I still like this place but hopefully the portions go back to normal, you can get boards like this in town for much less and they will be bigger/better value.
As yearly guests of the hotel we were recommended this "hidden gem" by the locals of Banff and finally had space in this years itinerary to dine on the Friday evening. The food offering was good and we enjoyed the locally sourced cheeses and meats on the chef's sectional board. The fondue was also very good but nothing exceptional compared to other places. The service was very disappointing and not what we have come to expect from any Fairmont. Our server disappeared after dropping off waters for about 15 minutes. Once she finally returned we ordered a bottle of wine and she ran away before we could add cocktails to the order. We waited about 10 minutes for more bread for the fondue and then another 15 minutes for the bill. After we paid our bill we just nicely finishing off the bottle of wine and were asked if we could please leave do to them requiring our table for the next party. Very disappointing to be asked to leave after settling a $400 dinner bill and despite the slow service still leaving a generous 20% tip. We were about 1 hour and 45 minutes after our reservation time so not even a full two hours which is the standard dinner time slot. Not what we have experienced at other dinning outlets at the Banff Springs and this was a sour start to our trip.
Best cheese board I’ve had, and Zoran is the most knowledgeable, enthusiastic and uplifting server I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Absolutely recommend this small spot!
A great experience for dinner. Nice size of restaurant in such a large hotel. The fondue was outstanding as was the wine list!
The menu includes items we had never tried, and they turned out to be delicious. Our server was well versed on the entire menu and helped us select a great meal. While the restaurant is small in size, you will find it big as a dining experience.
Always one of our favourite restaurants. Great food and an amazing wine selection. But it is the people who really make it special. The chefs are fabulous. Dana and Will are 2 very knowledgeable people, friendly and attentive. We always look forward to having a little time to talk with them.
Excellent food and service by Dana each and every time!
It was our first tine dining at Grapes and it was a great experience. It was very cozy and felt like dining in Europe. We loved the ambiance and our server was great. She was very friendly! The fondue was amazing. We tried the albacore tuna which was pretty good but we preferred the smoked steelhead. Their wine selection was also fantastic! We will definitely be back.
Incredible!
Wonderful charcuterie! Cozy atmosphere.
Simply the best charcuterie and cheese we have ever tasted in Canada, if not North America
The local Gewurtztraminer is great: try it !
No need to go to Chamonix for a fondue: you have it here. Stay in the Fairmont Banff Springs , ski in Lake Louise, and eat at the Grapes ! The winter paradise

Grapes never disappoints!
The quality of the food, staff, service level and experience is excellent. The small, intimate nature of the space is great for couples, small or larger groups.
The charcuterie cuisine is locally sourced or made in house and goes beyond all expectations.
Highly recommend Grapes for a great evening out!
We love grapes. Such a lovely little place with a great wine selection. The menu is small but everything we had was great so no complaints!!
One of our favourite wine bars. Can’t beat the ambience and the view.
Great food. Great service. Michael was specifically helpful. Try the wild game tartare — it was excellent.
It was a lovely experience. Would return in a heart beat!
Great service and food. Disappointed in the loss of locals discount that has been replaced by a new owners information grab.
Will and Zoran took great care of us. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly. We shared the Chef's Plate, which was expertly prepared.
Both of our servers were very knowledgeable, professional and helpful! Moreover, our Fondue was “to die for”. Koodo’s to Chef
We’ve been going to Grapes for a while now but it seemed like something was missing this time around. Service was fantastic as always but the food a bit of a miss. Fondue was not as good as before, and this was our first time not finishing the whole meal. Also, the pate that we usually order was flavorful but too spicy from the peppercorns. Again, something was a miss. Grapes is such a cozy and unique space. I am truly disappointed.
Awesome charcuterie and fondue. Great cocktails and wine selection. Be sure to reserve early as it is a very small, intimate bar. Servers are very friendly and knowledgeable about menu items.
The Chef’s Board was an amazing journey through a variety of cheese and meat pairings. Delightful flavors and cozy ambiance. Well worth the money and highly recommend the experience.
Super cozy atmosphere with amazing charcuterie. Best in the valley. What a hidden gem! Great service but could have had more than 1 server on a busy Saturday night
Awesome! Cozy atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff, and delicious food and drinks :).
Perfect evening enjoying fine wines, delicious food preparations from the Chef and service from Alexander and Harry. Great location for thoughtful conversation — thank you!
Is, and always will be, one of the BEST dining experiences in Banff! Spot on every single time, even after 3 years of being away from the town
A small, private setting with excellent charcuterie and knowledgeable staff. If you’re looking for a quiet dinner you’ll love it.
Went for a birthday celebration
As a group we had the two tasting boards and the fondue
All of which was excellent
Staff were helpful and friendly
Food is amazing. People are amazing. 100000% recommend dining at grapes.
Grapes is our favourite restaurant in Banff. The food and service is superior and we love the intimate atmosphere. The chef obviously is very knowledgeable about his menu and always provides some delightful surprises. The service is also knowledgeable about the menu, helpful and non intrusive. You have to go to Grapes!
Delicious! Well thought out pairings. Must return before our stay is over! Also many items are gluten free and they offer gluten free bread and crackers.
10/10 would recommend. The only thing I didn’t like was one of the cheeses but that’s just personal preference- absolutely nothing to do with quality! Grapes is somewhere I frequent often when I am in town. Looking forward to next time!
My girlfriend and I celebrated our engagement there after a long hike. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion and the food was just fantastic. They also have a great selection of wine!
Service and food was excellent!! Staff was extremely efficient and knowledgeable.
Went to Grapes for our 25th wedding anniversary. Food was lovely and service was very good with helpful servers.
Charcuterie board, chefs choice, was outstanding with perfect pairings of cheese, jams, meats and pickled vegetables.
It was the best meal we had in Banff. We liked it so much, we had it twice!
