Grapes - Fairmont Banff Springs
Charcuterie board, chefs choice, was outstanding with perfect pairings of cheese, jams, meats and pickled vegetables.
It was the best meal we had in Banff. We liked it so much, we had it twice!
we had the BEST experience at grapes - we decided to go for wine and appetizers before dinner and chef Tait blew us away with his creations he is truly an artist (we did not even want to leave to go to dinner) - the service was also outstanding, our waitress gave us information on hiking for tomorrow and was so wonderful. everyone was so personable and down to earth and the food was outstanding - this is a must go to when in Banff!
We loved our experience at Grapes and would highly recommend it! While, and understandably so, the reservation before us was slow to leave, the staff was very attentive and offered us other options. We decided to sit at the bar to enjoy an appetizer while waiting, and then decided to stay put for dinner. It was a delightful evening getting to know Dana and the Chef, learning about the food sources, and watching the art of food preparation. From the friendly and informative staff, to the quaint and regal ambiance, to the delectable hand made meats and local cheeses, A++!
We were referred here by a local art gallery employee. The Canadian wines were delicious, the Chef’s charcuterie medley was amazing and full of local and in-house samplings, the confit duck rillettes was delicious, and the service was warm and informative. Give it a try and make sure to make a reservation since seating is limited.
What a wonderful intimate setting! The service was impeccable and the food and wine wonderful. Looking forward to experiencing the hospitality and culinary creations again.
Menu is simply cheeses and charcuterie with a nice wine and cocktail list. It's goid, but don't expect a traditional entree sort of set up for dinner.
A perfect evening. Try the chocolate cake
Great food, very good service, nice atmosphere. Great for a light dinner - charcuterie, fondue etc.
Excellent atmosphere , food and staff!!
Kurtis and everyone was professional and very service oriented. I have been to Grapes on previous visits and always come back. Outstanding food wine and service!!
Stopped in here for appetizers and drinks before dinner. Loved everything about it. Great cocktails and cozy, quiet atmosphere. Ate dinner at the larger Vermillion room where the food was good, but I would have given up the vermillion menu variety and depth for the atmosphere and personality of grapes. We went back after dinner for a glass of wine as well. Vermillion room is huge, impersonal, crowded and noisy. If you can deal with the unique menu of grapes I would opt for it anyway.
We had a seat by the window (awesome views), to have a snack of cheese with wine. They have a select cheese tray with 8 different samples, paired with a jelly or fruit preserve. It was delicious.
Delicious food and great service from Spencer.
Lovely little restaurant with good views of the mountains. Good service and tasty food.
Harry was our server and he was great! The chef's board was perfect and we didn't want any blue cheese and they were more than willing to work around that. The goat cheese that won cheese of the year in 2008 was AMAZING. The board was perfect meal for 2. The view is great. The place only holds <30 people so it is cozy but wonderful. Thanks for the great service!
Waiters Harry and Curtis were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Great service from some young pros! Chef Michael's pairings were spot-on and it was a delight to watch him work with such efficiency and calm. Another top-notch pro with creativity to spare: the prosecco/pear "compote" was spectacular with the Brie and the Brittania cheddar with a tomato "jam" were inspired. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chef's Medley Board, suggested by Curtis. Expertly prepared and beautifully plated. The staff also helpfully accommodated our (very quiet) pre-teen. A wonderful experience!
Fabulous, cozy, great choice of food, just right for shsring.
Grapes is always a treat. I love the wee dining space. The ability to take a friend and have a lovely bottle of wine, charcuterie and enjoy an entire evening or talking.
My husband and I ordered the Chef's Board and the Cheese Fondue for Two. Everything was delicious!
Great experience. Not someplace you'd go for a full dinner, but we left with full stomachs. Great selection of cheeses and charcuterie. We chose the chef's medley, along with some breads. It was a lovely evening.
Lovely restaurant with very knowledgeable staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, thank you.
A charming small room. Our server Spenver provided good advice and service.
Harry was exceptional both with service, style and knowledge!
Wonderful as always. Dana is by far our favourite waiter not just at Banff Springs but any establishment. Food is fabulous, great wine and awesome service.
The food was outstanding, the ambience was romantic and all severs including our server Dana were amazing and professionals. The mark up on the wine was too much. A $20.00 for &80. Thats 400%. A 300% mark up would be fair.
Regardless our experience was wonderful and we will return.
Excellent experience! Lovely little nook in the castle!
One of our favourite little getaway places. You’re paying for the name and view but the food and creativity are definitely worth the premium. Service couldn’t be better in the intimate surroundings.
Perfect. Cozy. Delicious.
Very good quality food. Outstanding service provided by our server Dana. We will definitely be back
A fantastic evening!!!! We had the chefs board.... it could not have been any better!
Here for a birthday. Very good food, wine is a little pricey.
We had to wait close to one hour to receive our charcuterie plate. Our order was not lost but overheard the waiter telling another table that the kitchen was very busy. Surely a hotel of this size can handle operations at a high capacity. The food was good but expensive for what it was.
Food quality was exceptional. Service was well informed On the menu items and very pleasant and personable. Seating was a bit tight and table was small for the charcuterie platters.
amazing! we loved our server harry !
Le genre de place auquel on n’avait aucune attente, mais nous en sommes ressorties agréablement satisfait. Excellent service, excellent choix de combinaisons et saveur exceptionnelle!!
Grapes was an amazing spot for our anniversary dinner! We both LOVE charcuterie and once I saw that they offered multiple types of goat cheese my night was already made (allergic to cow milk). Our server was fantastic, she suggested a half bottle of wine for us and was able to accommodate my cheese requests with the Chef Medley board. Presentation of the food was great! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time as its a very small restaurant! We sat at a lovely table by the window and had the most romantic evening.
Amazing food. Amazing staff. This is our go to place for a nice date.
Love the simplicity and intimacy
The restaurant has changed since we were last there. It no longer has entree entries, rather, offers charcuterie, cheeses, veggies and desserts. Still, great wines. We were a little wary at first but a charcuterie board with a chef’s selection of meat, cheese and pickled vegetables was superb and was plenty for two. We topped it off with a great mousse for dessert and left very satisfied. The room itself is easy to under appreciate, but don’t. It’s beautiful with lots of history. Cant wait to return.
