Grant's Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Our party arrived early for our reservation, but the restaurant was able to seat us even though they were nearly at capacity. We were seated near a very large group, which made us concerned about the service. But despite being busy, the wait staff was very efficient and attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding. I enjoyed the duck, which was prepared medium with a delicious vegetable medley. My wife had the salmon, which she requires to be well cooked. It was prepared exactly to her specifications, and the server waited while she tasted it. Our guests also thoroughly enjoyed there meals. Grant's continues it's long streak of excellence!
Not up to it’s usual standard. The food was mediocre for Grants. I ordered the tofu which has always been outstanding and it just was ok, not tasty, not enough sauce, bland. The cabbage salad on the other hand was outstanding. My husband’s chicken dish wasn’t anything special, he only ate half of it. Grants is one of our favorites and we’ll be back but it just wasn’t a good night.
Usually very good but an oddly dissatisfactory experience. They made a mistake in the kitchen with one of our orders so it had to be remade. The delay wasn't so much of an issue but getting my lukewarm to cool salmon was. They took it back to warm but it was still pretty cool. At this point we had been there a while so I wasn't going to send it back yet again.
I love this place. I used to live in West Hartford and Grants was a regular favorite. I moved over 1,000 miles away, but try to have dinner here when I'm visiting. Consistently great service and always a wonderful meal. I had the sea scallops. They were perfect! Everything on the menu is delicious! You cannot go wrong.
It was our wedding anniversary and the waiter was so unpleasant. He was quick to serve us and didn't explain any of the specials. He pretty much just threw our plates on the table. I had made a note on my reservation that it was a special occasion. We didn't even get a congratulations. Food was great as always but service was very disappointing.
Went with my wife for a date night dinner. The pork belly appetizer was disappointing, a small 1.5 cube that was good but otherwise unremarkable. My wife had the filet and really enjoyed it while I had the duck which was easily became the best duck I've had in the past three years. We were sat in the back so it was pretty quite and we were able to relax and finish the bottle of wine we ordered without feeling rushed to turnover the table. Overall a solid recommend.
We don't get to Grant's often, but each time we do it's 5 stars all the way! I have a gluten/dairy intolerance, and this is never an issue at Grant's. I try to make it easy when ordering and the servers are accommodating with choices. I usually like to give the chefs liberty in making adjustments to something on the menu that I can eat, and it is always delicious. Grant's never disappoints.
Grants is a fantastic restaurant. Our only complaint was that the food came out a little on the slow side. We weren't a big drinking crowd so the slowness of the food was noticed where it might not have been with some more wine in the mix. Great experience overall.
Had a great overall experience. We went for Sunday brunch to celebrate my wife's birthday and had a great time. The food was well seasoned, well prepared and overall delicious. The menu offered just enough variety to give you options, but not overwhelm. The icing on the cake was our server Jordan who was great. He was very personable and gave great recommendations. He was also very accomodating allowing us to add a table to ours to give us space and also adjusted the legs to make sure the table was level. Great experience and will be returning.
