Dined at the restaurant during Sunday brunch with four little kids (2 toddlers and 2 infants). We did have a 20 minute wait, despite making reservations however we anticipated the just in case wait time. Staff was really accommodating for our families and provided frequent updates on when our table would be ready. The food was great with the exception of the collard greens, which were a bit salty.
Would dine again with the family and may give the collard greens another try.
We were there to celebrate my father's 91st birthday. He really loves this place. The food was great! This was however the first time the service as been only okay. For the first 40 mins or so after we were served we did not see our server. We were bussing our own table to make room. It wasn't until we requested the manager from another server that our server showed interest. Maybe he was overwhelmed. We will still return. It's a great place for brunch. And now they have entertainment.
Service was very slow and the food was cold.
We booked with Open Table which allowed too many reservations. We sat down almost 45 min after our time. Then errors with food, getting menus, cold food when it came out. Waiter tried but had too many tables. Overcrowded probably at fire hazard max. I ordered a beer, got a cocktail then took 20 min to get my beer. Not recommend this place unless it’s empty
Made a reservation for 7:45pm on Saturday night. Showed up 15 minutes early - the place was packed. At 7:45 we were told that we would have to wait at least 45 minutes more for our table. The restaurant staff blamed the back up on too many Open Table reservations.
We made reservations because we have two young children and we wanted to make sure we could get to an early dinner. We checked in at the restaurant early but we understood we could not be seated right away. However, we ended up waiting more than 45 minutes for our table (with a 4 and 6 year old). Once we were seated the service was pretty fast (compared to the wait). We also spoke with the manager and he did comp our kids meals because we had waited so long (but we had asked to speak with a manager (otherwise I feel nothing would have been done for us). Overall the food was okay. Everyone who worked there was nice and tried to accommodate people. We do understand it is a very busy time of the year. However, we felt when we made reservations we could be accommodated for the time we asked for. We made them a little earlier so we could be seated because we have young children. We were not expecting to wait that long.
Service was good but food was okay at best and the prep was slow.
I don’t how I can give one star for food when never got any food in 1hour and 45 minutes sitting at the table.. place blows .. I would be embarrassed to work there
Verrrrrrry slow service. The manager apologized and comped an appetizer (that came after the entrees) and took 20% off, which I appreciated, but even the beer took forever to get there. And the server didn't know anything about the beers, which was odd for a brewery. There are too many restaurant options in NH for me to want to try this one again.
Food was mediocre at best. Ambiance and location were great.
Arrived @5:20-25 for a reservation for 5:30 and they appeared overwhelmed. They said they will "seat us as soon as a table was available". At 6:00 they opened up some tables in a section of the restaurant that they had not intended on using that night and attempted to seat the guests with 5:30 and 5:45 reservations. It was a raised booth that made using the high chair impossible. It became clear that they did not have sufficient staff for the evening and that we were likely to be waiting a long time to order and wait for our food. They should have stopped taking walk ins. We left a few minutes later without ordering. Looks like a nice place and they had enough tables to accommodate the crowd, but they were unable to get them cleaned up and turned around. They had good staff, but they didn't have anywhere near enough of them. I will be hesitant to try again.
Thanksgiving getaway weekend
My family went for their Thanksgiving. It was delicious and we were appropriately stuffed.
The quality of food is poor. This restaurant use to be my FAVORITE at the Harbor where EVERYTHING was good. I would visit at least once a quarter however the must have a new cook or manager now because I have no plans of coming back. The food was bland and not flavorful at ALL. Good luck to those willing to take a chance.
We went for Thanksgiving and were pleasantly surprised. They had a standard menu for the holiday and the food was amazing!! A full family style feast for the family. Our waitress was great, very helpful. We will be back!
They are a Brewery and we’re out of beer
We took some out of town friends here for a birthday dinner. The waitress, Jaz was very sweet and accommodating. Can't blame the wait staff for the slowness in the kitchen. The food took a very long time to come out and then it was cold when it did. Our drinks took a very long time to come out and a manager stopped by the table to see how things were going. Once we let him know about the slow service from the kitchen/bar he let us know he would be going to grab the drinks for us himself. So the place is nice but the food was terrible/cold. Our drinks were good but they forgot to bring my beer I ordered. They were also out of a lot of the craft beers on the menu. I had high hope's but overall I wouldn't recommend.
Amazing, we will definitely be back. Food was excellent
Went there with 13 friends under three separate reservations. Didn’t expect to be seated together so was pleasantly surprised when they accommodated us at two large tables side-by-side. But that was the last positive experience.
The food was horrendous. I’m not a picky eater and my expectations for a chain brewery/restaurant weren’t high. But by friend’s grilled cheese came and the cheese wasn’t melted at all. It looked like they’d just placed a piece of cheese on bread that must have been pre-toasted or it would have melted at least a little. My shrimp friend rice had no flavor at all. At all. A 13 year old boy in our group who eats anything like most 13 year old boys, wouldn’t eat his shrimp fried rice at all after the first bite. The French fries were cold and limp. I didn’t hear a single one say anything good about their food.
And the beer was served warm. When the waitress was asked about it she said the machine was broke so it was coming out warm. Wouldn’t you alert the guests to that before serving so they could order something else?
The entire rest of our weekend no matter where we ate, everyone said “at least it’s better than Granite City”. It made us afraid to try any of the surrounding restaurants for fear they were operated by the same restaurant group. Finally ate at the National Pastime Sports Bar at the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center and the food was fabulous.
Would definitely avoid Granite City and instead walk one more block to the Gaylord. Basically the same type of food but soooo much better quality.
After making reservation, asking for a booth and informing that it’s my birthday, I was very disappointed to be seated in back next to restrooms and kitchen. We were told there weren’t any other seating options available . That’s horrible service. And the hostess seemed very uninterested .
Many beers not available. Service was only okay. For the price, food was adequate but not special
MEt with friends from out of town we hadn’t seen in a year. Were able to sit and talk, no one rushed us. Very relaxing and great food.
The place and the food were good. My only complaint is they were out of a lot of things in the menu. Good for everyday dining but not for special occasions.
Food was decent but service was below par and when I walked in my reservation basically meant nothing to them. I had to wait about 20 minutes after my 7:30pm arrival time to be seated. That’s not how a reservation works.
Had a reservation for 715 pm. They were giving away reserved tables and said my table wouldn’t be ready for another 35-45 minutes. We ended up booking a reservation at McCormicks seafood down the street (reservation at 815 and we arrived and were seated by 810). Never going back to Granite City, the food and atmosphere is not worth the wait.
I used to be a server for 10 years, so I do not take lightly writing a bad review. My family and friends went to National Harbor on November 16th for the fireworks and Christmas Village at the Gaylord. I made reservations for 6 adults plus 2 highchairs at Granite City. We arrived a few minutes before 7, and the host told us our table was being cleared, and it would be a few minutes About 25 minutes later, the host takes us to a high-top bar table for 8 people. Clearly, not suitable for highchairs. The host then said that was all they had, but could look around to see if some other tables were leaving. At this point the two 2 year-olds are clearly getting tired. She looks around, and found nothing. About 40 minutes pass. Eventually, the manager comes up and provides a solution. This whole time there has been empty section in the back of the restaurant, and she is working on finding a server. Finally, we are seated at 7:45pm. The server we had was great. She took our orders, and we thought all was well. Other service staff brought out the food (although by this time one of the kids fell asleep). When our server came out to check on us, she asked my friend who has celiac disease, if she got the right pizza. My friend told the server when ordering that gluten could send her to the hospital, so the server made sure to put on the ticket extra gluten free. However, the server thought the other service staff grabbed the wrong pizza, so she went to confirm with the manager. The manager then came out, and stood at the table for a few seconds, not saying anything until we asked if the pizza gluten free - she said no. My friends immediately got up to go to the hospital. The manager said for them not to worry about their check, and she walked them out the door. Never to be seen again. The server brought us the rest of the bill for the group, and we left. Aside from our server and one other staff member the rest of the dining experience was awful. I will never go back.
Had a reservation. Was told we would be seated in the next 5 to 10 minutes. Someone else came in after (also with a reservation$ and was immediately seated. Approximately 10 minutes later, someone came and told all that were waiting, that even “if” they seat us, the kitchen was backed up and it would be an hour before we ate. I made the reservation for our anniversary and we had a concert at MGM that began at 8pm. Needless to say I will not be going back. Thanks for ruining our anniversary meal!
We made a reservation for 6, but once we came in they were too crowded and even after 30 mins we still didn't get our table. They also sent many people back, even those that had reservations like us. Very disappointing, especially since we enjoye this place.
The host wasn’t very welcoming and then our server was not polite, she made us feel rushed to order and she wasn’t attentive to our table. My husband and I were celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary and we don’t get date night very often and we chose this restaurant but we will not return or refer to a friend. Not impressed with service or food taste and presentation
Terrible service. Disrespectful and rude server. Food was average, once served as ordered. I have a food allergy and the server seemed annoyed by it. She was disrespectful and rude regarding several things. Not worth the National Harbor prices for poor service, rude waitress, and barely average food.
I appreciated the variety of vegetarian options. The cauliflower wings were AMAZING!! I'm still talking about them.
I made the reservation through Open Table for a business luncheon. Due to a preceding meeting we ran late. I was able to modify the reservation for a new time through Open Table App. When we arrived we were immediately seated. The service, food, and noise level were all good. The meal prices were mid-range and thought to be a good value. My guest and I had an enjoyable experience. I plan to return again and again.
The food was tasty but the service had a little room for improvement. My wife ordered a starter salad which ended up coming out with the entrees and we finished our appetizers before we got our drinks. Our server was friendly. We had a great table by the fireplace with a nice view outside. We would come back.
We were seated at a dirty table and had to get the manager to wipe it off. We were served water in baby cups and were told there were no more large cups. The food did not all come out together. The service from the waiter was poor. He continuously walked past the table without checking on us and we had to wave him down at least 5 times for various reasons. The restaurant wasn’t overly crowded. We will not return to this establishment.
Very busy, waited 20 minutes to be seated even with reservations but waiter was friendly and food was tasty
Great food, service was so-so. We went on a busy Saturday and got a great meal for the price we spent
Everything was wrong wrong wrong. Came here to celebrate my mom bday and it was the worst experience ever. Will never be back
It took us a while to get seated, but other than that it was a great experience. The food was fantastic. And we had a really wonderful waitress. We will be coming back.
We arrived early for our reservation and were taken to a table within 3 minutes. Food was great along with the service!!
If I could give a negative stars review, I would. My three friends and I had a reservation for 10:30am. We arrived about 10:20 as a courtesy. We waited about 10 min to be seated even though the place was nearly empty when we arrived. Once we sat down, we waited at least 10 min before we were greeted by a waitress. It took almost another 10 min to get our drinks. Then, we place our food order around 10:40 am and were told we could not order from the regular menu until 11am, so we stuck to the breakfast menu. We waited from 10:40 am until 11:55 and out food never came out. Our waitress not once checked on us. We had to the kitchen to ask her to refill our drinks, which was after over 30 min of seating without being tend to. This was by far the worse experience I ever had. The manager after us reporting all of this was not even that apologetic and could even explain why our food never came out. People around us got their food and we literally just sat there. I would never go there again.
