Granite City Food & Brewery - National Harbor

Generally always have a good visit. It was rather lively this evening.
Overall, it was an excellent dining experience. The menu options are perfect for a group of friends with children. The only issue was the TVs kept losing signal, making it difficult to watch the Nats playoffs, but not a big deal.
Your hosts and wait staff have no sense of service or prioritizing of the customer. I waited 10 minutes for them to finish their joking around. They showed a lack of care.
I made reservations and took my family to brunch at a new spot at National Harbor and so many things were wrong. Three people at host stand all looked confused and took a few minutes to even seat us. There were multiple servers in our area and none so much as looked at us for 30 min while we took trips to the buffet. I finally had to flag someone down and they sent a server over, who was not the least bit apologetic about our lack of service and that we had all eaten a plate of food without even a glass of water.
The food was average at best, and several items advertised were nowhere to be found (e.g. breakfast sandwich bar). The omelet station/carving station/ donut station was manned by one person, so omelettes took about 20 min and the line was a mile long. The food that was out was lukewarm and greasy. Very few healthy options other than a picked over fruit setup.
Needless to say, we will not be back and will continue to look for new brunch options elsewhere.
Service was slow, inconsistent but friendly.
We had a large party for Sunday brunch and I was so pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and the really good food. Our family was in town for a wedding the day before and I made a reservation for 14. The hostess was enthusiastic and helpful! Our waiters Yvette and Jacque were absolutely on their game. We were unorganized and they still smiled and were super gracious! Really enjoyed the Asian grains salad!
I was very happy with everything!!
I will definitely go back if we are in the area again!!!
The waiter was good. The food was cold.
Slow poor service, food took forever and small portions. Never got 2nd round of drinks. Saving factor was when the manager asked she took 20% off bill. Too many great restaurants in the area to go back.
I have been here a few times before but most recently went here for Sunday Brunch. Their brunch looks great on paper (omelettes made to order, make your own donut, carving station and buffet) but in person its lacking, majorly. The actual presentation of the food could use help, the chaffers they use look cheap and overall presentation is not at the level matching the restaurants that surround them or the price paid. Also, the brunch buffet was not being serviced frequently enough. Empty pans of food were seen, no plates available, etc. Service was just okay. Not as attentive as they should've been and it took forever to get sat. For the price paid I have definitely had better at other Restaurant Brunches. I've also been here for Happy Hour and just for drinks. I'd suggest coming here for beer and beer alone. I've never been impressed be their food but I have been happy with their beer.
Very short staffed. Waited :20 for water. Then, :45 min for food. Way too long.
We had a reservation at 7 for a party of 11 people, were seated at 7:45, were able to order at 8:30 and parts of the food that was served at 9 were cold.
There was a positive reaction by offering some pitchers of beer for free but the Overall impressionwas very negative.
Love this spot. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. This was my third time there and it never fails. Will be a repeat customer.
Surprisingly good! My husband and I ordered the Old Bay wings, buffalo chicken wrap and house salad (the one with the candied pecans). Everything was REALLY a good! The salad is amazing and has a delicious, yet light, salad dressing. The buffalo chicken wrap was spicy but REALLY GOOD. I will definitely be back!
We came to the restaurant on a Saturday night and the place wasn't too crowded. The waiter was nice and bought us samples of beers. We immediately placed our drink orders and then the wait began. It took almost 10 minutes to receive our drinks although nobody ordered anything fancy. The wait for the food was almost 20 minutes and then when it arrived, the fries were cold and it looked like half of my fries were missing. The waiter said that he would bring another basket but he never did. We were also missing silverware so we had to wait for that as well. The atmosphere was nice but the food was average and so was the service. I think I would try another restaurant before I came here again.
The only thing I didn't appreciate was when my husband and I entered the establishment, the young lady was about to seat us when this young man appeared from the kitchen and they began to argue in front of us. Neither one of them stopped and apologized, therefore leaving us at the front without being seated. We had to ask someone else to seat us. Not professional at all. Other than that everything else was great. The chef came out and asked us if we were ok. I wished there was some type of acknowledgement that it was Anniversary. I had put that on the reservation but it wasn't.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit for lunch with friends at GC National Harbor Maryland. We preregistered taking advantage of a discount coupon the day before. The morning of our visit we checked in online to reserve a table. We actually ended up dining on the patio which was nice. Food was excellent, clearly a step above “pub food”. Craft beers very nice. Highly recommend this GC location.
Small plates were great! Two of those and a bowl of soup were perfect for dinner.
The place has went down over the years. It took us forever to get kids Mac and cheese. They couldn’t find the manager and the poor waiter was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. The bathroom was filthy
Not a good first impression. This is supposed to be a brewery restaurant but there is no pride in the beer at all. We had to ask for the beer menu and one of beers we tried was just awful to the extent of almost undrinkable. The server did warn us and provided wonderful service.
The pork rind like appetizer was too dry and I almost choked. The Mac and cheese was delicious. The truffle balls had a good flavor but the consistency was too dense.
It would take a lot to get me back in the restaurant.
It was lit fam.
Server was as attentive once she picked up our table which took 7-8 minutes. She accommodated our special requests from the menu which was nice. Food was average and overpriced for what you get.
Restrooms were dirty. Hadn’t been cleaned in several hours. It was only 6:30 pm when we were visiting.
Four people in our party. All of the entrees arrived cold. Two of the dishes were supposed to have Parmesan truffle fries as a side and instead we received standard fries (no explanation why). One of the entrees had a large section of plastic cooked into the food (manager comped it). A featured house beer was unavailable. Noise level was so high we had to lean across the table and shout to be heard. Will not return.
The host tried to sit us in a booth where the seat was full of crumbs. We moved to a high top; our water glasses had lipstick stains on them. We ordered dessert and they were out of it. We ordered a second dessert and the manager came out to tell us they were out of that dessert also. What kind of restaurant runs out of 2 desserts on a Saturday afternoon.
This was my third visit in a month. On my last visit, the server didn’t even bother to ask us if we wanted dessert!
We had an excellent time and our server was amazing!
Food was very good. Atmosphere was nice. No complaints
I will be back!
Took over 15 minutes to get seated at an empty restaurant with a reservation for 8. Service was very slow. Appetizers were not good. Corn fritters had no flavor, ahi Tuna was soggy. Entrees were enjoyed by most at the table. Burger and Jambalaya were good, bac & cheese was given a thumbs down. Desserts were not enjoyed. Creme brulee was not properly prepared and the Churro donut stack was extremely oily.
Food was very good! Service was mediocre. That being said I would go back.
The service was not good. The restaurant wasn’t even busy and we had to look for our server numerous times.
Very tasty brunch! I would have never been disappointed if they hadn't advertised eggs Benedict on the buffet. (It was on the website AND the menu they provided at the table that day!) I was looking forward. The omelet chef said they stopped with making Benedicts 3 weeks earlier! The other food was quite good, though.
Nice place to go to catch up with friends. Staff is pleasant, ambience is friendly.
Awesome service and food was good as always. Our waitress recommended sor drinks and they were delicious.
Military farewell; wrong steak served (NY strip vs Ribeye) and we were told it was the restaurants version of a ribeye. Risotto balls were over cooked, very little flavor and fried in old oil. Server was outstanding l, but manager lied multiple times about the food and what was being served. SIDENOTE: 4 of the 16 people at the table were chefs so lying about the food was a mistake.
For some reason, two of our dishes were too salty. I also had to send my drink back. This was odd. I’ve enjoyed this place on several other occasions.
The host could not have been more rude. We had 4 children and he wanted to seat us at high top stools. We asked for an actual table when we saw there were several available. He got super irritated. Slammed down the menus and said “sit here then and stomped away. I would never ever go back here.
Our server was not the best. She didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert☹️☹️
Service was incredibly slow despite being after the lunch rush. Food wasn’t delivered as ordered.
Even after making a reservation, we had to wait 20 min to be seated. Once seated we were completely ignored for 30 minutes. Servers attending the tables next to us completely ignored us. When we had enough and wAlked out, it was only then the manager asked if there was a problem. NEVER AGAIN! I DO NOT recommend this restaurant.
Really good, diverse buffet brunch spread. Service was spectacular.
Service needs improvement. More than enough items to chose from.
