As always, the food and the service exceeded expectations! We beat the evening rush by having dinner a little earlier in the evening, and as a result enjoyed a very quiet dinner.
Great brunch at a great value. Our server was excellent. Would recommend and will definitely go back.
Having been faithful patrons of the Granite City in Orland Park, this was our first trip to the one in Naperville. It has a different feel than the Orland Park location. I know it was a busy Saturday night and although our server did a great job, the same vibe wasn't there. Our previous servers always stopped by throughout the night to see how we were, engaged in conversation. Again, our server was great - kept our refills coming and was very pleasant; we had no complaints. There is a new menu (at least from what we were used to), so that was exciting. It is farther for us to go to this location so we won't be going as often but it's good to know we can still get our Granite City fill somewhere!
our large group of nine ladies all found drink and dinner options to suit their taste. The services was prompt and courteous and the food delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to find that even with a large group gratuity was not automatic as we like to determine our own tipping.
Server did not take our drink order for a good 10 to 12 minutes. Thought that was a bit long. Love the food and drinks so will be back for sure.
I like the new menu! Food and service was wonderful.
There were 6 of us getting together to catchup and celebrate a birthday. Service was EXCELLENT, felt no pressure to leave. Food was OUTSTANDING!! Good recommendations for staff. The artichoke/spinach dip appetizer was delicious!!!
Was busy so understand if service was stressed but could have used more attention
The server was I experienced and slow
Our experience was great! We had a large group and everyone was very accomodating.
Fantastic lunch selections!
Much too loud! Waiter was not great.
Birthday coupon - great incentive to go for dinner
We enjoyed our dinner. Being a picky eater who does not enjoy spicy foods or unusual ingredients, I found I was limited in choices but I did order the classic cheeseburger and it was one of the best I've ever had.
Great service. Food was better than expected. Not crowded but still had a good vibe.
Granite City Naperville was very busy when we were there. Made reservation and were seated right away although there was a 2 hour waitlist. Waitress was not very friendly or knowledgeable about menu or beer. Beer and food was good, not outstanding. Nice place for large groups as they had several groups and seemed to handle it well. Menu has a lot of options. I would go again.
You get a lot of food for the price. The food comes out hot. The burgers a just a bit on the messy side with a tad too much sauce. The servers are what makes us keep coming back. They get the orders right and return to the table often to fill the drinks. Very friendly.
I was surprised that we could get in on Friday night. It was sort of empty and we we left around 8 it was wide open. Our waitress was a very nice young lady but seemed to be overworked. Not sure if they were short staffed but I asked for a bowl of soup and got a cup. No big deal. Asked for cauliflower rice and did not get it. When asked she brought it right away. Meatloaf is usually great but it was dry and over cooked. We like this restaurant but it was not the best night.
Our french fries were very cold & too crispy the first time so we asked for a second batch were better but still too hard & crispy instead of softer, easier to eat. The sandwiches were good tasting which made up for the fries. We thought the overall meal could have been better to begin with.
Our server was on the slower side and didn’t seem to be around . Usually that’s not the case. I also wish the kids menu was more inclusive. All should include sides. The pasta portion is not enough for my kids
The food was fantastic and at a great value. I think we found our new spot!
Good food. Service could have been a little faster since we had tickets to an event.
Way too loud. Way way way too loud.
I want to start by saying I’m not a critical person. I’m very forgiving and usually see the other side to things. I think the restaurant was just understaffed or poorly managed. Our food was fine, but no one checked on us the whole time. We wanted to order more food and drinks, but ended up leaving and making a second stop for dessert and a night cap. At all the tables around us much larger problems were happening, missing food, sitting groups at tables they didn’t fit at. The whole time seemed like the staff was just trying to survive and just couldn’t make it work. I think it could be a really nice restaurant if it was run a little better. It was almost comical watching all the tables have this issues around us. The food was pricy for the level of service.
The beer cheese soup is delicious! The service is always very good.
Food was good but it was too cold in the restaurant. I dined with my coat on.
I had wanted to try Granite City for some time but just had never taken the time to go. I was a bit disappointed. The food was very average. I may go there again for a casual dinner, but there was nothing about Granite City that stood out enough for me to recommend it to my friends.
Good gluten free options
We loved the brunch. Definitely make a point of saving room for the freshly-made doughnut bar. The caramel cinnamon rolls brought to your table when you arrive were great as well. For meats they offered prime rib and pot roast as well as salmon. Their biscuits and gravy were pretty tasty. Surprisingly, there was no chicken.
Brunch was great for the price. We will be back!
waitress was not attentive and was somewhat offended that we didn’t order her recommended dessert
The chicken pasta dish was wonderful and plentiful. And the other people enjoyed eating their
Sandwiches. Consider having a no-kids zone to keep the noise down for adults without kids. Liked the porch.
We went to eat and to celebrate a child's birthday with 8 total people. The server assigned to us I believe worked at the bar and was used just for our party. He was busy with the bar and hardly checked up on our table needs. The dishes were steeped with French fries (too much I believe), and the birthday dessert was just dropped off - no hoopla or signing by staff etc. We also ordered the donut stack for dessert - the donuts tasted like they had been fried in old oil as well. I would not recommend this place to eat and was disappointed.
Went for a dinner with my sisters and mom, our waitress although seemed nice, blew off my questions in regards to the entrees. Waters were never served, which we asked for with our drinks. I ordered fish and chips, fish was beyond greedy and tasted like it was cooked in old burnt oil. 2 of my sisters (both pregnant with heartburn) ordered the Salmon and said it was quite spicy. Out of the 6 of us that were there, there were only 2 of us were somewhat satisfied with the food. Cute place but we most likely won’t be coming back.
The was good, but nothing special. We had the chips ans guacamole as an appetizer and the corn fritters. They were both fine. Had the bbq chicken flatbread. It was cold when they served it. The chiiros were too greasy to eat.
A fun Sunday Brunch! It's very popular, and has always been very busy when we've been there. The buffet has many selections, and the service is good.
Food was good but average. The ambiance was relaxed.
Disappointing. The waffle fry nachos had very little cheese on them. The Margarita flatbread was not very appealing, way to much balsamic drizzled over it. We had someone order the grilled cheese on gluten free bun and the bun was soggy not toasted. When you use a gluten-free bun for a grilled cheese it should be flipped and flattened so it can be grilled like a grilled cheese that is on bread.
Had the meatloaf, and not a fan of the sweet bbq demiglaze. Bowl that it was served in was hot, but the meatloaf itself was barely warm. The way it was served was just weird. At the bottom, was a piece of garlic bread, then green beans on top of that, then the meatloaf, then the garlic mashed potatoes, and then covered with onion straws. ???
We made it clear we we were vegan, but one persons Asian salad came out with the chicken. It took awhile to get her food. The waiter was really nice, he brought a dessert for the birthday girl and made sure it was vegan friendly. That was very thoughtful of him.
