Food was good, server was attentive and kept up with clearing plates and filling beverages.
I think Granite City schedules their reservation windows too tightly. We had to wait 25 mins WITH a reservation. The staff was sorry and doing everything they could to accommodate the ever-growing list of people who held reservations who were table-less. But, it was a little annoying. Still food and service was great.
We went out for a birthday celebration. My wife and kids liked it a lot, my parents thought it was OK, me not as much. When the kids got their food, it tasted great after we got it fixed. The pasta marinara came out without any sauce, we had to ask it and they quickly handed me a small bowl and I had to mix it for my kid, the kids drinks were forgotten, we had to ask for that as well. My wife thought her food was amazing, so that made my happy. My mother's food was missing the dip it was supposed to come with, and I had to hunt them down and ask for it. My burger was missing the crema sauce, or any sauce really but by the time I noticed I was too tired to find someone to fix it. The burger tasted dried out and flavorless. We ordered dessert, they forgot the caramel sauce, I was sharing it with my wife so I asked for it again. I didn't complain in restaurant as I didn't want to upset the birthday, but I'm not sure I'm likely to come back.
We went there on a Sunday for the lawless brunch. We all enjoyed the food. There were many offerings. Definitely worth trying
We ended up sitting AT the bar and there were 2 bartenders and the service was horrible! Acted like we were not there! Had to ask for anything and everything we wanted! I always tip 20% and up but not sunday! When our glasses are empty and we are IGNORED a tip is not earned at all! I did see others getting MUCH better service than us but they were obviously regulars and we are not! i was SO disappointed with our bar service!!!!!!!!
We enjoyed the brunch buffet. We had to wait a week for reservations, but it was worth the wait.
Met a friend for dinner- haven't seen each other in a while. We sat near the bar (high top). I never felt like we had to shout.
We ordered fish tacos & shrimp tacos- both outstanding!
Server was great. Food was OK. Fries were cold, sandwich was greasy. Other than that everything was good.
You have to go to this Sunday brunch! So many choices and great quality. Server was great! Always a good time.
Great place for a casual business dinner.
Our first times in! Incredible staff from the hosts to the server. Amazing environment with an excellent Lawless Brunch! Definitely coming back!
Did not like the food. Service was slow. No one wants to stand in line to wait when it is a buffet. Seemed like there was not enough chefs working. Mystery meat on the eggs benedict. YUCK! Even though $20 is a great brunch prize, this was not a great value because most of the food was disliked by my whole party of 5.
We've been here once before and the food seemed great, so I tried to bring a friend for his birthday, and the food was terrible. Dont get me wrong, the staff were extremely kind, helpful, great service! The atmosphere seems like it would be great in the evening for a brewery. The sticky buns they give the table for free were very hard and cold. The food was very basic, and not much variety. We arrived right after opening and things did not taste very fresh. We tried the donut creation station and the toppings were mediocre or dried and hard, the frosting was cold, and the donuts would stick to the plate. We had to try to use a fork and knife to eat them. I could have found more variety at Golden Corral for cheaper. The first time we went was only a few months ago, and they charged me the kids rate of 7.99 for my 9 year old, GREAT DEAL! Well this time, they charged me the FULL $21 for her and said the kids rate ends at 6 years old. Umm, what? Well either it changed or they didn't do it correctly the first time. But the buffet, especially for a 9 year old, was absolutely not worth $21 each. After all said and done, $82 for 3 people for a mediocre experience and dried, cold food, I was most disappointed this time around. I wont be continuing to recommend this place to friends and family! Perhaps it was just the brunch experience.
If I could give zero stars I would!
A special birthday occasion for my significant other on 2/15/20. He mentioned he’d not been to Granite City in a while so I decided to book a reservation. I dropped $110 for a total of 4 glasses of wine and two really horrible entrees and even worse service. No appetizers, no deserts. 2 small, cold and bad tasting meals. That’s it.
We were ignored the entire time by our waitress as she was too busy chatting with her coworker while we waited for our drinks (20 mins) another 30 mins for our dinner which was luke warm at best and then waited another 20 mins after I requested the check!
We left and I apologized to my date for what was a really poor dining experience.
Called the next day to speak with a manager as I really felt ripped off and treated poorly. The manager, Dee said she would compensate for the horrible dining experience we had that evening.
My expectation was for at least a voucher for two adult entrees, instead got a gift card for $40, not even half of what I spent and certainly not enough for another two entrees. I suppose I could go by myself and barely have enough for a lunch!
Needless to say, I won’t be back to spend my whopping $40 gift card so that I can drop another $70 of my hard earned money on yet another really poor dining experience.
Well, it’s a good ploy to rope people back in to spend more money in their restaurant. Guess I have give them kudos for being clever!
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SKIP THIS PLACE!
The server was great! But the bar was backed up. 20 minute wait times for a drink is no bueno
Service was great. Food served quickly and prepared well. Tried the flight of beers good deal
Brought my wife and two boys for a nice night out. All of the food was very good and the beer that is brewed on site was outstanding. We will definitely be going back again.
Excellent food and great beer. Highly recommend this place!
It was great.
Average food. Not impressed.
Great food! We had a great experience. The food was delicious.
Great food and great deal for Valentine's day. I had the salmon, a bit spicy for the unassuming, however I enjoyed the spice. A bit loud but nice setting and decorations.
Waitress was too busy to give us much attention. Water never refilled. We were told when we were placing order we should put in order for desert with appetizer and dinner as she might not have time to come back?? It was valentine's day but this seemed unusual. Food was exceptional and we would go back, just hope to have better service next time.
The Valentine meal for 2 was a great value! The food was very tasty, especially the roasted brussel sprouts. I do try to eat wild fish so I was disappointed that the salmon was Atlantic salmon which is usually farm raised. It was very tender. We have eaten here before with friends and we are always pleased with the quality of the food. I have food limitations and you have been very flexible to accommodate my needs. We appreciated being seated in a back area so the noise from the bar area was muffled.
Had a wonderful Valentine’s Day date
Was a great valve and food was outstanding. I would definently go again.
Disappointing meal. The Buffalo chicken wrap was extremely hot with so much sauce inside. No real blended flavor.
Great time. Great value with the brunch buffet. Would recommend and go back! Our waiter was amazing.
Enjoyed the Brunch, would recommend it. Prime rib was tasty. Omelets were good, decent selection of lunch and breakfast items. Service was a little slow but only due to the fact waiter had a ton of tables to monitor.
Awesome waiter and service. Can't wait to come back.
Came for Sunday brunch and we were all very happy with our experience.
We were a party of six, seated at 7pm on a busy Saturday night, towards the back area by the kitchen.
Food and drinks were delivered all at the right speed.
What we did not appreciate was that once the tables around us were cleared, they broke them down, moved the chairs, swept the floor, and basically “trapped” us in when they put up new tables for the Sunday brunch!
It was noisy, annoying, and the sweeping around us while we were eating was inconsiderate.
If you have to get ready for a brunch, at least wait until the diners are gone!
Also, and this is not Granite’s fault, but parking is a nightmare at that time...had to park at least a 5 minute walk away!!
We love the Cuban sandwich! Onion soup was good too, not too salty.
It was a busy Friday night. The server was able to keep up and our food came out on time. The food, experience, and service were good and I would go back.
Great experience sharing small plates-Delicious!
We went for the Sunday Brunch and it was fantastic!
Brunch was delicious! Lots of different things to choose from! The make your own doughnuts was a huge hit!
Had a party of six. Seated almost 30 minutes after our reservation. Service was sparse and we were seated next to an emergency exit in an overflow seating area. The room temperature was cold and some in our party needed to wear their jackets to keep warm. My food was hot and tasted very good, however a couple others in our party were not as fortunate.
The food was very good. And our waiter was pretty accommodating
