Nice place very nice waiter we had the food and appetizers were very tasty. Would recommend to others.
Had a 6:45pm reservation and had to wait 15 minutes longer. Once we were seated the service was great and the food was great thanks to Corrine who was our server.
Server was not very attentive. We had to wait for everything for so long, even the water refills
Saturday night of Valentine’s weekend and extremely busy. It took a long time to get our drinks and our food. When the food arrived, my wife’s order was good, but my steak was cold and I got red potatoes instead of the fries I had requested. I pointed this out and was told they would get me an order of fries. I was nearly done eating the rest of my meal when I got the fries, and I only got them after I asked about them. The manager was very apologetic about the service and comped our drinks. We have eaten at this restaurant many times, and while it can be busy on the weekends, we have always gotten very good service and been very satisfied with the food. I am looking at this as an exception and will go back again.
Took my parents out for their 40th anniversary dinner, dad proposed for a 2nd time to spend another 40 years together. It was awesome. Also, glad that we had a reservation, it was CRAZY busy, no place to sit and wait for our table and having two small kids that was a huge challenge. Kitchen was busy, food was good.
Overall average experience that you would expect from a suburban chain restaurant. Dinner “reservation” is more of a pre-wait list, better than just showing up, but still a lot of waiting for a table. Did the Valentine’s dinner special, really good selections in the fixed menu. Medium rare steak was on the well side of medium well, but still very tasty and tender. Again, overall average on a busy Friday night.
It was a very busy night “Valentines day “
Our experience was below expectations compared to some of our previous experiences
Good time Great Waiter Good Happy
Hour. Would Recommend
We made a reservation via Open Table, however we were still asked to wait about 10 minutes since they didn't have any tables available even though we arrived on time. Overall the food and service were good. Note that Granite City had filed for bankruptcy in Dec 2019 but was still operating.
Very nice lunch. Broad menu says wife and I can both get what we like with very different tastes in food. Good and friendly service.
Great prime rib sandwich!
Fantastic food. They have definitely stepped it up a notch or three since announcing bankruptcy. Food was amazing! Definitely going back!
We went for an early Valentine’s Day celebration. Our server was awesome but the food was not great ( quality of the steak, over salted stir fry, greasy fish and chips). The restaurant has become rather dirty and desperately needs a remodel. No need to spend money there again. There are so many better choices in the area.
Birthday and it was also a day before Valentine. Overall it was OK but the boneless wings from happy hour menu were pretty bad.
This place is large enough that we can usually get a reservation on the same day. We have been seated immediately every time.
Very nice. We had a very pleasant dining experience at Granite City. Really good prime rib sandwich and wife’s salad was really good true. Very friendly servers made this very enjoyable.
Offered complimentary Carmel rolls. They were very good. Might have to try brunch some day.
Food was great and timely especially for how busy it was. Waitress was very busy but ended up missing several empty glasses. Otherwise she was wonderful!
Granite City is always a good stop for our family. A lot of menu options and they are all good. We really enjoy the breadth of offerings as we have a widely divergent set of tastes in our family.
We were sat in the back next to a large group of women who were either catching up or celebrating. They were quite loud so we had to shout to one another to converse. For a business reservation, I would have hoped the restaurant would’ve planned differently.
Very nice - meal and a beer were just perfect. Nice salads and sandwiches for all of us.
Great lunch with a friend. Food was superb!
We got sat 35 mins after our reservation. Granted they were very busy. I went to check after 20 and she said they were just cleaning the table off. 15 mins later I had to go up and ask again if we were going to be seated soon and then they sat us.
The Sunday brunch is great, something for every craving! So much variety available on the buffet and at the custom stations (omelettes, eggs benedict, doughnut). Service has always been top notch.
Nice to see the new menu. Lots of great options. Meatloaf was excellent.
Even during a huge snowstorm, when any other server would rather be home we had the most personal and genuine experience tonight! Food and drinks were great as always but the personal touch from our server and manager were top notch!
Excellent service, very good food (Sunday brunch), competitive price... Bravo!!
We enjoyed our experience. Only waited a few minutes past our reservation time. Our group ordered shrimp tacos, spicy chicken sandwich, a burger and a steak. All were great. Ordered a variety of specialty drinks, beer and cider, enjoyable. Not as noisy as I had feared. Our server was nice and prompt. My only complaints were the parking lot is too small and although we found a close spot, someone else in our group had to park quite a distance away. We penguin walked over quite a bit of ice in the lot - clean that up! Thanks for a fun night.
Meeting with friends.
Service was slow, our waiter was slow, not impressed. Probably will not go back.
I eat here fairly often. The service is always very attentive and the food never fails to satisfy. I sure hope they stay in business!
My friends and I had much to talk about and Billy, our server, was understanding, attentive and helpful when we needed him. We all enjoyed our meals.
Enjoyable dinner- we had a table right next to the brewery tanks, which gave an authentic vibe. Love how they let you sample the different beers before ordering. Great prices on the beer and cocktails, i think.
Drinks were great- I really recommend their fresh homemade brewed beers as well as other “guest” beers featured on the menu.
Menu is cute, organized, and gives calorie counts.
Food was delicious, everyone of my party of 5 enjoyed our meals.
The service was great, food could have come faster - it took 30 minutes or so. Was a busy night though, so must be a popular place in the area + our drinks held us over for that time.
We were victims of some sort of kitchen glitch that slowed the delivery of our order. The server apologetically explained the situation, a manager came by and adjusted the price of our meal - to zero, the food was finally delivered and was delicious.
It was a beautiful example of "save the day" by the Granite City people and I will not hesitate to dine there again.
My family loves Granite City and we visit somewhat regularly. A few things I've noticed over the last few visits:
1. Your menu is out of control. Way too many items to choose from. The best restaurants only serve a few items from each category. There is no way that you can make all of those items and do it well. Also, in my experience in restaurants, its slows down the kitchen. Shrink the menu!
3. Offer a daily special. In addition to the seasonal beer/food menu.
2. You need more servers. You have a great team, but it is very apparent that they are stretched too thin. If they spent more time with their tables, the level of service goes up, along with your sales and bottom line.
3. You have only recently started placing growlers on the tables. Nobody has EVER offered us a growler to take home. What a great way to get people to come back!
Just my 2 cents.
Took 4 kids to New Years brunch and everyone had something they liked. Loved the donut creations!
Food just keeps getting worse, steak tips that you can’t even chew, no blue cheese on black blu burger, nasty cold fries
It was ok. Lots of potato based items and bread items. Poached eggs were good but inconsistent. Some were runny. Some were hard.
Buffet was not very good at all. $54 for 3 people totally not worth it.
My husband ordered off the menu and his food was good. I had the Christmas Eve buffet and the food was average. The buffet wasn't kept well stocked. Missed out on more mashed potatoes and the salmon because it took so long for them to refill. Also, the desserts trays were empty for a long time before refilling. Service was average. Took a long time to get waited on and a long time to get drink refills.
