Grange Kitchen & Bar
Everything was great except the steak. The rib eye was very tough and overly fatty. Also, all steaks come sliced and this was not made known before hand. One steak was sent back for being extremely rare and we sent 2 plates back due to being overall poor. They rest of the food was outstanding.
We had a great time at the Grange. Very quiet. Easy to have a conversation. Loved the cocktails, the salad and the desserts. Mixed reviews on entrees. The duck was a big hit. The trout was salty (even for us salt lovers), though the sides were very good. And the curried potato cakes were delicious but, since all veg, too small a serving and that party started eating off of others' plates. We loved the coffee and sampler dessert. The Grange is one of our favorite restaurants in town.
Never had bruch at Grange before; we'll come again. Food was excellent and moderately priced. A little noisy but not overwhelming.
Four of us were delighted to find multiple items on the brunch menu to choose from and we all have different tastes when it comes to breakfast (full carb, low carb, veggie lover, foodie). I chose the omelet special - tomato preserves, kale, and goat cheese. It was delicious. The breakfast potatoes were seasoned and crispy. The service was perfect - she was there when we needed her and she also gave us plenty of breathing room. With wood floors, it is a bit echoey but not so loud that it would keep me away. Parking was a pain. I had parked on the street outside the restaurant. Mid-way through breakfast (at noon) the signs on the meters that said "free parking until 2 pm" had mysteriously vanished and I was asked to move my car so it would not get towed. This is not the restaurant's fault, just a head's up that parking is not plentiful. None of us live in A2 so we weren't sure what parking was available, and should have asked ahead of time.
Truly an outstanding meal from cocktails to dessert with superb service - shout out to audrey! Rivals some of the very best from my home town of Chicago. Unique, creative, ample. Not fussy just delicious. Recommend corpse reviver cocktail, fried Brussels sprouts, perogues , chorizo dates, walleye, buttermilk ice cream. Yum
This place is great and underrated! The food is really good, and there was no wait even when other Ann Arbor comparable restaurants were packed and on a wait. Great food, service, wine and cocktail list, and has a tasting menu with a wine pairing.
Almost perfect. Music playing in 2nd floor bar was nice, but rudely interrupted by advertising. Cut out the commercials to support the nice ambiance.
We enjoyed a wonderful family brunch on Sunday, March 31st. Food was excellent; our group's orders included the market omelet, Grange breakfast and the lemon pancakes. We've enjoyed dinner here several times but this was our first brunch -- we'll be returning. Highly recommended.
I hate it have to say this but the food was very disappointing. The fries cooked in duck fat were over salted and not particularly fresh tasting. They were not hot and crispy. The Michigan lake trout was good but the sides were lack luster. The salad was ok. The Pane Cotta with shaved ice was just strange. I must say, on my previous visits the desserts have always been disappointing. Not excited to return soon
Atmosphere was very nice and we appreciated the quiet ambiance. Menu had limited choices and main courses were only ok. We ordered the ribeye steak on special, which was chewy and not a good value for the price and accompaniments were disappointing. We also had the special fish taste and texture were mediocre at best. Appetizers- scotch egg and pierogi were excellent. Dessert was a disappointment- not very many choices other than ice cream in nontraditional flavors, none of which were very good. It was easy to get a reservation here; now I know why.
Definitely a place for foodies. Great menu, and the wine list is fantastic. We had a Bordeaux that was an absolute delight. The service is also excellent. Definitely will go back.
The food was creative and delicious. This restaurant had already been recommended by a friend and it lived up to the great review.
One of our favorite places in A2. Staff was accommodating when we had to change our reservation. Our server was very attentive but also gave us our space to enjoy a relaxed-pace dining experience. Dessert was really fun and delicious - we ordered a variety of items and shared among the table. Food was delicious and not over-sauced. Portions good to allow for appetizer, dinner, dessert, and coffee without feeling over-stuffed. Very fun evening. (And thank you Grange for being open on a Monday, when many restaurants are typically closed.)
Service was outstanding- our waitress was especially helpful in several ways. One in our party wanted something not on the menu and our waitress said she thought it was available. Very pleased with that. Then, she also was helpful in finding a store where we wanted to shop. Food was excellent and, again, our waitress gave great suggestions!
Very good food, wine selection, and service overall. For the price, though, the food should have been perfect, but there were a couple of niggling things: the pierogi were a bit doughy (they should be thinner and more tender), and the duck breasts were underdone, in spite of those of us who ordered then asking for them to be hardly pink (and the skin was not crisp). Still, it was a meal well worth it, and our party was never made to fell rushed. Pretty much my favorite Ann Arbor restaurant, after living here about 25 years.
Our favorite Ann Arbor restaurant
Outstanding jewel of a restaurant! Be sure to get the pierogies.
Loved our Sunday brunch. We enjoyed the vegetable hash and lemon pancakes. Hope to be back soon.
The food was so good. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Duck fat fries with house made ketchup were amazing!! Everything is made from the fresh ingredients and you will notice the difference!!! Highly recommend anyone to try the place.
Great food and drinks. The waitstaff seemed a bit shorthanded so service was a bit slow but overall still great experience. One of best in Ann Arbor.
Meh. We probably won’t go back. This was the third time we’ve gone to this restaurant. We had the trout and fried walleye. Just okay. Nothing special. I was particularly turned off by the skin still being on the walleye. Also had a salad to start. The dressing was way too tart and vinegary. The beer and food both arrived to our table at less than ideal temperatures. The beer wasn’t cold enough and the food wasn’t hot enough.
Love the food, service, and atmosphere.
Amazing, outstanding and mouthwatering food. The service was a little slow, but I do know we expected that due to the cook cooking the meals to-order instead of them being prepared beforehand. We were trying to catch a show so had to hurry it up a little but The Butcher's Cut was the best steak I have had in a while. They cooked it a bit rare to my liking but overall, the food was the best food I have had in a while. Definitely recommend, just know to relax and drink wine while you wait for your meal to come out.
Six of us came in for dinner. The food was good, but not quite as amazing as some of the other spots on the block. We tried the tasting menu. I'd recommend it, it was a fun change from the norm. We did feel like we were rushed out, so let it be known this is not a place to linger!
Food was delicious! We visited during brunch and cannot wait to try dinner!
Wondering service and great food. Warm neighborhood ambiance.
Very slow service and there were only a few tables filled. It was kind of expensive which is fine if it's great food, but it really wasn't. My husband described his meal as "terrible" and the rest of us used words like "ok" and "mediocre". The music they played was super strange too; at one point it was a baby crying. We all stopped and looked at each other to make sure we were not hearing things. Probably the worst sound ever anyway and then during dinner? No thanks. Nothing positive stood out about this place. We will not be back.
Excellent all around. Despite it being the depth of winter, I was impressed with the local ingredients.
The food was first rate, and the portions of the perfect size. The restaurant was about 80% full, but the service was excellent. Timing of our three-course meal was just right. Good wine options. Atmosphere is casual, while being serious about the food and service.
We ordered from the restaurant week menu expecting the restaurants best..., and the starter was outstanding..., trout cake would bring me back in a heartbeat, beet salad wasn’t as good as described but still enjoyable, trout entree was flavorless and roasted cauliflower was over salted. Thankfully we left full since the olive bread filled in for entree that was so disappointing. I may try Grange again, regular menu looks intriguing.
We ate in the upstairs bar and it was quiet and lovely.
We've been there before w groups and once prior on our own. We enjoyed a nice table away from traffic, good food and service.
Excellent duck confit, my favorite. Everyone Loved their dish. Normally we go to bar upstairs (best burger in A2), but we had Sunday brunch, which was wonderful. Great music, nice people, really good food, not pretentious, just high quality.
Best farm to table and organic food in AA. Great service and very nice wine list. Food is creative and truly made fresh.
I took a group of my clients here for dinner and was extremely satisfied. Food was very tasty and they were able to accommodate one of my guests who has multiple food allergies. I also found the entrees to be reasonably priced. I think it would be a great place for a special occasion or date. Highly recommend!
Our favorite place in Ann Arbor. Love the duck but they did not serve so had the goose. Very good
A very pleasant evening. The food and service were exceptional and the atmosphere is comfortable while not being too casual.
We had the chorizo and date appetizer, garden salad and pan seared chicken with sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts — everything was done truly perfectly and the flavors were wonderful. Staff members are always attentive, warm and friendly and know the answers about the food. The Grange really is a local gem.
NYE menu was amazing and the service was outstanding!
Tasting menu was amazing. Chef Brandon and his team killed it as usual. Best restaurant in A2.
